Man this is sad. Bc I can remember going out on black Friday in the past. And going to all the stores & finding lots of physical media in stores & all the good sales they all had on physical media. And that is what I miss the good days when physical media was in almost every store compared to now
Japan is number 1 for physical media they still have a lot of music stores 🏬 that’s why there cds 💿 are hella expensive cause they come with bonus tracks and they keep physical media alive No streamers over there thank god 👍👍👍💿💿💽💽
Ya it sad now. Feels like just a couple years ago when Target and Best Buy had 5 Aisles dedicated to movies and on Black friday you could buy newer movies for like 5 dollars.
Did all my "Black Friday" shopping throughout the week online. Okay deals from different websites, but nothing what like it used to be physically in stores.
That fact that they're not selling physical media in stores is sad😢. Now people are going to have to go to reto entertainment stores . That was my favorite thing growing up and seeing all the movies in Walmart and target. Now going to stores just feels empty, like a piece of us physical media lover's died😢😢😢
As a physical media collector. This year totally suck if you wanted deals on physical video games and movies/TV shows. Most brick and mortar stores had little to nothing physical media wise. And they had no deals on what they did have. 10+ years ago, The physical media sections were packed and come black Friday they'd have some really good deals. Like $20-$30 off a brand new current release video game. Or $8 TV series box sets. Brick and mortar stores wonder why they are struggling. Well it doesn't help if you don't stock stuff and if you don't want to give people a deal. 🤷
well the big studios got their wish. All us physical media collectors had money to spend but nothing to buy. Streaming is more important now to their bottom line which is sad. Why not make as much as you can from both platforms. At least give us some good movies on sale at stores. I just dont understand.
2:44 Some epic box-set releases on that shelf including SpongeBob The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVD which I know some people were hyped up for, although I personally don't care for it as I already own all the individual releases.
They also released Another 100 Episodes; I only had seasons 10 and 11, so I sold those and got the new set. I really don’t like the humor style of seasons 10-14 (and there’s not many episodes in those seasons that I’d give a rating higher than 5/10), but owning the DVD is allowing me to give many of the episodes I haven’t seen a fair chance (even if most of them are mediocre, if not flat-out bad)
For movies i did my black Friday online got 2 movies 1 free. I remember a few years ago in best buy it was hard to figure out what you were going to get cause there was so many good deals on great movies. I remember getting the matrix, first blood and predator on 4k and I dont remember paying that much for those. Now the movies in store are gone or barely anything and I feel like the deals aren't as good as they used to be either.
Your store should've had two shippers at Target. I went in to get the Wicked soundtrack, and then picked up Fall Guy and Godzilla/Kong 2 to get one item for free. For now, Target still has a lot of selection online but not a lot of deals. These 'sale' prices were still only $15.99.
My Target in Australia doesn’t sell physical media anymore, also Disney stopped physical media to Australia as we all have Disney + but I still love physical media, still adding to my collection when I can
Nothing at my Walmart so sad not one dump bin. Just the regular section of about 80-100 titles. I used to spend hours getting about 50 movies at Walmart on BF. Prices were $5.98 for BR and $9.98 for 4K the last time they did a real BF sale
Walmart was the last good Black Friday spot. They honored their color coded BF prices weeks after the sale. I think this is the second year they have not had a sale.
My local Walmarts used to have the black Friday color dot sticker sales. This black Friday not one movie/TV Show or video game was on sale. Except for a few titles that weren't really that much on sale.
@@raulzavala9061even as i know people don't even buy Vinyl records and CD's these days the only ones that people buy Vinyl records and CD's are music collectors and diehard rabbid fans of singers
And even if I do buy a movie on Bluray it's probably an umpteenth anniversary edition of a movie I actually like, I've stopped completely on buying new movies in the last 6 years.
This is quite sad to see. I have some good memories growing up hunting for movies on Black Friday. J, thanks for the video. Good work as always. Also, J, if they close up shop on physical media, will you still be around? Your channel is one of my favourites on all of RUclips and I would hate for it to go belly-up. Hope all is well with you.
A fair criticism. A lot of my videos are done in one take because sometimes that's all I have time for. One take, do some quick edits, and get the video uploaded. But, I would like to work on not saying "um" as much. Thanks for the comment!

Funny enough when I went to Japan they still sell physical media compared to the US
It just mean it more popular
Nintendo is located in Japan. They get all the good stuff.

It's because it still sells well. In the US people are either buying from amazon or buying digital

Cause people moved to streaming

It's good to see a lot of physical media still being sold at Walmart.
I see Zootopia and other movies in this section, mostly collections at 4:25
Walmart n goodwill n fye & pawn shop n barnes n nobles & flea-market n half book price n other places
Walmart is one of the last good places for physical media when it comes to the brand new stuff.

People perfer streaming
U gotta go barnes & noble duh
A lot of 4K Blu-ray releases are good movies, including upcoming titles.
Awesome video, Happy Black Friday😍♥️🥳🎉
I do miss Target selling DVDs. 😪
Pretty miserable "Black Friday" this year for Physical Media in stores and nothing to get at a great price!
I agree, although I did get myself a PlayStation 5 for $375.

Physical media is killing it in sales
The sale or subscription numbers really prove where it's at.
I prefer physical than streaming. I don't pay for streaming, and I think it's stupid. It also ruins the movie industry by not having physical.

Yeah, I think they had plenty of toys on sale
3:53 ANIMANIACS IS BACK IN STOCK
Most physical media that I buy brand new nowadays will typically come from either Walmart or Amazon… that’s honestly sad…
yep RIP Black Friday, just a few things on Amazon the rest of the stores were nothing with Target being next to nothing
What’s wrong with people giving up on physical media
Streaming
Bc people dont care
@watchforever1724 streaming making it harder for increasing price
They rather go elsewhere.
The convenience of streaming. I enjoy streaming, but I still buy physical media. It's a shame that not many people do the same.
0:13 😢 Uuuhhuuuuuuhuuuuuuh!!!!
My walmarts movie sections are basically almost non existent. I'm sure walmart is going to end up like target soon...
Black Friday is my favourite shopping
Bro really said Walmart has “nothing” & then shows that it looks like physical media heaven there. I wish there was a Walmart in New York 😔
That's fair lol, but the "nothing" I was referring to was actual Black Friday deals. The movies they had are what they always have.
