Item cheats are handled differently from getting item from box Usually you have them yes but it also reports that you have them on hand to the other players Usually, when getting an item box it will check if other players have reached an item limit of a specified item [like too many bananas on their screen, so they'll send packets to you that, that's it, can't handle more bananas], if so, you'll get mushroom, if not, it will give you the item There's also time limits on stuff like lightning, pow, and the squid Item cheats ignore those rules so you can spam items to them regardless
About 5 years ago I think I may have actually ran in to you on MK Wii, I recognize your Mii and remember playing with 4 or 5 hackers. I miss playing MK Wii Online... Good times. :(

Actually, because this guy stands in front of the finsih line to be the last one, the other players gain more VR, especially if the hacker has 9999 VR and they win agains him they gain massive ammounts of VR. (Hackers can still be annoying don't get me wrong)
With a code for 3 items modifier, you can do it with an SD card, instaling Homebrew Channel, and on it, you can install Gecko OS or Ocarina, download the cheats and put it with Codemgr, create a folder called codes in the SD card and use Ocarina or Gecko OS in the Homebrew Channel. @AskBBoD Hackers still screw everyone up though. The race is not the same, even if you do come in last place. If a hacker screws me up then I'll end up coming in a completely different spot in the end than if they had simply left me alone. Bottom line is, if you want to hack, do it with the CPU's, not people who play the real game.

It was a kids game so they never really thought of it.
Nintendo couldn't see what players were doing in races because the Wiis communicated directly with each other from countdown to the end.
