But before the amphibia situation started, Marcy was the reason they got trapped Which than lead to Sasha making more mistakes ( I’m not going to talk about Anne and Sashas background, they had a toxic relationship but that’s off the subject). So so far you could blame Sasha or Marcy, or heck, you could blame the parents for doing the dirty at that specific time and date and setting up their whole life in the first place. You could blame Mother Nature, you could even blame the whole crew; Anne, Sasha, and Marcy for agreeing to open the box.
I never got over how quick Anne's little "Marcy." was because its such a realistic thing that'd happen in an argument or moment of shock, you portrayed it so well
Her intentions were selfish. She dragged her friends and herself to Amphibia to live a power fantasy. She treats her time in Amphibia like an rpg, a life sized d&d session. Marcy doesn't even treat the people there with real respect, writing them off as part of the experience, further shown with how she objectified Sprig. Sasha and Anne's experience has been hell, they've been trapped in a world they aren't familiar with, faced with things that are constantly trying to eat/kill them. It was only made bearable because they found help. Anne found a 2nd family in the Plantars, and Sasha found a friend and an equal in Grime. Because of them, they grew more than Marcy ever could. It didn't help that Andrias fed her fantasy. Were her intentions malicious? No. Did she deserve what happened to her? Not at all. But her intentions weren't pure. This is all her fault.
@@kingcamelot1395 it seems people mix up intentions and motivations. Her motivations were definitely pure, she just wanted to keep her friends in her life, but her intentions were undeniably wacky. I still think she has a strong case to warrant forgiveness, especially after saving Sprig from the fall and getting kebabed trying to save everyone, as well as using what she thought were her last words to apologise for everything, but that's just me.

I get chills when Marcy is optimistic about them. Throughout their life, Anne and Sasha suffered.. Things fell off. But Marcy sees it as their friendship just taking a little crack because she gave them everything they “wanted”
I mean... her "I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING" also means how much she lost for them being together. She didn't only _give them everything_ they have now. She _gave them everything she had_ just to be with her friends forever. Poor young Marcy... I feel so bad for her, even knowing what she has done. This scene broke my heart. Again. For the 4th time.
I love how you made Marcy start moving her hands like that when she explains what happened. Such panic to prove what you choose might be right knowing it wasn't the best method 0:22
I remembered that the creators mentioned that Marcy has toxic qualities as well as Sasha. I always kept that in mind, got thrown off a bit, and found it here. In the season 2 finale. I realized what makes Marcy toxic: she wants things her way. She has attachment issues. I remember her mentioning “we don’t split up”.
This is definitely my favorite scene in the whole show. Just how Marcy delivered the line, " I gave you this! I gave you EVERYTHING " , really gets me every time
Ohhhhh, I love all the extra little nuances you add to the scene with this! The quick cut to Sasha at 0:40 for "look at how much you've both grown" was inspired, and all their expressions are SO good.
I absolutely loved this AND the OG scene. The way she stumbles over her words and squeezes Anne's hands and pulls them both close with hand holds really shows how desperate she was to not lose them. The squeeze of Anne's hands really said "Stay here with me. Please."-- and you displayed this so well too. :D

as cruel as this was, it still made me cry, The fear of being alone can be so strong sometimes. To the point where you dont consider anyone else's emotions or feelings, you just want them to stay....
God Marcy’s breakdown in true colours is a very personal rated amazing scene for me. We see as she tries to quickly justify her actions to Anne and Sasha but also I think she was justifying them to herself as well. You did a phenomenal job animating this, between a little 2 seconds blink and you miss it moments like Anne saying “Marcy” really quickly or Sasha looking away when Marcy states how much they’ve changed, as well as Marcy’s very realistic frantic movements. God you have brought back every single feeling I felt when watching this scene for the first time
This was amazing, love the art style - oddly reminds me of 'how to train a dragon' feels a bit rough/realistic like. I would like to see it fully animated because this scene next to calamity Anne is wonderfully tragic and I'm a sucker for sad shit, plus you did a good job here, I'm no artist so details may have flew over my head like the characters looking different but I found it to be enjoyable. As for favourite characters Grime is one I like as well, but Marcy and Andrias are just lovely, marcy's heart of gold and dorkness is lovely while Andrias is bouncing, bubble madman and I'm always interested when he is on screen. The Planters are nice I just feel they get a bit overshadowed by the main gang - Anne, Marcy and Sasha.
I hope that season three shows Sasha struggling with Marci's betrayal as much as it'll show Anne. Ik it'll probably get brushed over though because of her Anne driven redemption arc, but I want to see what Marci and Sasha's friendship was and will be like because that side of the trio is severely underdeveloped.
The last line really got me. Poor Marcy wanted to be with her friends. She was so desperate that never realised what she was doing till that very moment. I think she needs hugs :(

I do like the added detail of Marcy looking to Sasha... and it hits Sasha, sure, she's grown, but has it really be for the better? Sasha almost became a murderer. In the moral sense she became a murderer when she made the conscience decision to kill Sprig... (Hop Pop's intended death could ALMOST be understood given she spent her entire time with the toads coming to see THEM as people, the frogs were strangers, and were being led by a rabble rouser... That level of DISCONNECT needed for her to make that choice however). So yeah... there's a question if Sasha would just get worse if she'd stayed on Earth, or Amphibia put her in a spot to make some horrible choices. All characters act the way they do because the writer writes them doing as such... but TRUE characters act the way they do because it's how the author has established their nature.
Dude the actors did such a good job and not just in this episode like all of them they put SO MUCH emotion into these voices and matches the situation so well, they are incredible at their jobs-
Her emotions and movements completely killed it, it's like she was trying to make it sound like she is really apologising that she would do anything to be forgived and i couldnt stop tearing up at how hurt she sounded like. This is why shes my fave and will always be but another fave is polly with her come backs, they make me giggle she's very savage.

I've always felt left out or ignored, and i would jump into something huge with my friends without knowing the consequences in hopes that finally, we could just be together and I'd have a place. It makes me cry every time, because I know that this is exactly what I would say.

God, Marcy was so sweet and then in true colors, she got so crazy, so emotional that Sasha and Anne backed up. Sasha even drew her hands to her sword in fear forgetting that her hands were tied up.

God, Marcy was so sweet and then in true colors, she got so crazy, so emotional that Sasha and Anne backed up. Sasha even drew her hands to her sword in fear forgetting that her hands were tied up.
