Just ordered the box, planning on using them for ME SBG as Hobbit Militia in an Arnorian Battle Company. there's really nothing else that suits it quite as well, even GW's Hobbits are from a later period and don't really fit in.
Thanks for reviewing this kit as I hadn’t heard of this manufacturer before! After checking them out I’m very excited for some of the kits they’re going to be producing early 2020! The Dark Ages Irish sounds very exciting and is something that has only been produced in metal as far as I’m aware!
I don’t play any fantasy games nor am I that big a fan of haflings but this is a cool kit. Ordered it the other day along with some square bases so I can form them up into a proper unit.
Probably the hardest part is kitbashing standard scale weapons onto half-sized bodies. Especially arms. Gotta find a way to get the weapons on while keeping as much of the arms and hands intact.
Just found out about these figures, and the bundle deals they're offering :-D BIG order on its way fro me to them, and a happy addition to my immense Halfling force soon arriving. Thanks for this wonderful review.
@@Bluecho4 I ordered literally hundreds of these and lots from another company that was offering deals, and set to with a vengeance when they started arriving, and now have around three hundred of them painted up in my home County colours (County Clare, here in Ireland, even though I'm a "Blow-In" from England many years ago, I fell in love with the "Banner County") and seeing my minis painted in blue and yellow uniforms has really made them popular among those who've seen them. I have a HUGE Halfling army (Just over 4,000 figures) that has taken me almost 40 years to collect, and a Dwarf army (3,500 figures and over 500 war-machines) that goes alongside them, and have been painting Tree-Rex Disney Skylander figures I get cheap from the local DVD/games shop as an elemental army (These figures are HUGE compared to 25/28 mm scale figures, but look amazing when re-painted, and at only 50 cents each, are unbelievably economical for buying in bulk, and building a large force on the cheap. I also have some giant Dwarf style Skylander figures painted up as Dwarf Battle Golems for my Dwarves, and some other Skylander figures painted as monsters and other characters). I'm loving just how detailed these Halflings are, and they fit well in with the rest of my Halfling armies, and look amazing when lined up for battle against my friend's Night Goblin armies (She is the only one of my ex-club members who still games with me now, due to the lock-down, and has a Night Goblin army that is almost as big as my collection of Halflings). Fun times are being had painting and basing these beautiful figures, and I'm still ordering more as I go along, as my "addiction" to the Wee Folk grows daily :-D I'm slowly working on a huge Shire style gaming board, with lots of "Hobbit" inspired ideas involved, as well as a nasty underground cave system for my friend's Night Goblins to infest :-) Hope this answered your question :-D All the very best. Paul :-D
Possibly a little bit too chunky. I tried out a few things without much luck. However, I reckon the slightly smaller sizes of Warlord Games Historical range might work well.
If only there were heads without helmets, these guys would be good alternative for Lotr:SBG, or whatever it's called nowadays. You still need some GS work.
Maybe if you can find some similarly scaled rifles. But then again, you may need more than that because they're all wearing very archaic gambesons and jerkins. It's up to you how much anachronisms you want in your conversions. 🙂
I did try this out with a few IG, Skitarii and Dwarf components and they're all a little too big against these guys. Grot components would probably be better proportioned in you're looking for 40k conversions.
While I like this kit it's kind of a weird in-between of fantasy and historical. The weapon options and integrated bases is very historicals while halflings is obviously fantasy.
You just glued a quiver on the back of a halfling that doesn't have a shoulder strap for it. xD Is it supposed to just be sewn onto his gambeson, or is it magically hovering in place? They all have waist belts; you could have just glued it at the hip instead; or glued it to one of the few halfling bodies that do have shoulder straps intended for back-quivers.

Is the scale the same for mesbg?
I know the look different but Fit they from the size with the gamesworkshop halflings?
Just ordered a set of these little guys for my Oathmark army. Really characterful and not comically sculpted. Great review 👍
Perfekt for Warlords of Erewhon!
I will defently consider buying a box of these.

Great paint job

It's a very cool kit, quite different too considering most halflings are just round, fat caricatures. Kind of the like the LotR movie Hobbits.
Have this kit and some of the Kings of War halflings and they go together very well, both are very nice.
This makes we want to do a Ratling Imperial Guard Regiment

They look really nice. Nice realistic paint job 👍

How has the halfling army progressed?

@@MrCrystalwarrior1 Sounds wonderful. I'm really happy for you.
Ordered their Conquistadors box for some more Frostgrave kitbashing options
now i want these guys xD 2 boxes gives quite a large force
These look awesome. Thanks for the video dude.
Oathmark Dwarves or Fireforge Northmen would be cool.
@Pete The Wargamer I wonder if the Frostgrave Soldiers kit would be compatible with these for weapon / arm options?
Possibly a little bit too chunky. I tried out a few things without much luck. However, I reckon the slightly smaller sizes of Warlord Games Historical range might work well.
@@PeteTheWargamer maybe the new Fireforge Northmen might work? I hadn't considered the chunkiness.
Grabbed a box for Oathmark.
Damn I'm early..... Love myself some halflings!
Looks great :) good review, thanks!
Are there any heads included that don't have helmets? This would be a nice cheap way to get a whole village
@pete the real question is who’s your favourite doctor?
Very informative great vid!
I have already bought them can’t wait for delivery

Very nice figures. The price is good too. Thanks for the review.
Doctor Who, sounds like im not alone >.>
I wish I could hobby while watching Doctor Who.
I bought three sprues on ebay, enough for my purpose (RPG minis).
can they be converted for both Warhammer franchises? wait you said Warhammer fantasy, but can we use them for Ratlings?

@@cthuludreams1 thanks man
@@cthuludreams1 perhaps they're Ratling snipers from a feudal world. That could work. That said, I would like to see them alongside Rein and Raus.

@@PeteTheWargamer thanks man, I was thinking they might be interesting to see in 40k with the right parts
Is there some kind of “command sprue”?
No but there are command options on each of the sprues.
Pete The Wargamer Thanks! I should have mine in the mailbox in another day or two.
Did anyone end up using these are Hobbits in LOTRSBG? If so how did they end up compared to GWs hobbits?
They're a little bigger that SBG hobbits, but if your opponent doesn't mind them they could be used I reckon.
Great vid :D
Middle Earth...
thats what I was thinking, although we'd need to buy different weapons, because in the rules, hobbits cant have polearms or spears..
@@TomCruiseRisky I'd be tempted to proxy them as Bree guards of some description. Might take a little fudging.
