I bought the 1600 mag case. Make sure you check the valve train right away, the bolt came off the end of the number 4 rocker and couldve really neen a mess

Why would someone choose magnesium over aluminum case or visa-versa?
My guess as I had the same question is probably weight, as in reduction compared to
$5100 for the 1600. That'll lighten your wallet for sure

It just depends on what you're looking for. They aren't race engines, so it's all about preference.
