A lot of coasters were ripoffs during that time because money was tight. Vuoristorata was built during 1950-1951 and was opened in July 1951, world in general didn't have a good money situation, especially not countries that had just been in war (like Finland). This was built to attract people coming to Linnanmäki because of Summer Olympics in Helsinki and it was supposed to operate just for a year or two, but due to major popularity, it still serves to this day. Using a ready template and paying for rights to use it is remarkably cheaper than designing and building a coaster from scratch.
