    I actually find it easier to survive winter as Willow, then other survivors. (including ones with a beard) Her fireball spell is basically a dwarf star whenever you want one, and her being able to set whatever she wants on fire and then just extinguish it whenever you want is really useful for winter! Great video though! I didn’t know about burn damage stacking on multiple enemies.

      Tbh she might be *the* easiest character to survive the cold of winter as now, assuming the player has some of her perks/knows how to use them. I've never tried, but I bet she could even survive in the caves during winter as long as she's got a thermal and there's a mushtree to burn nearby, the cold would just be a little annoying... but not a threat

    • @ShadeStrayed
      @ShadeStrayed 9 месяцев назад +4

      I was about to comment this. Summer is more annoying since she can't cool down on herself or a thermal stone on her own, but winter is the exact opposite, it's fun.

    Im happy they gave Willow the ability to actually use fire, like previously it was just too dangerous and not worth cause the loot burned. Now that she can extinguish any out of control fire, it's actually great. Its also nice cause now a willow player isn't an instant death omen to your base(yes im aware not all willow players were base burning maniacs, but the quotes for wanting to burn everything weren't helping people's fear)

    Recently, I saw a willow player killing other character who went to the fire pit. There was a bunch of charcoals surrounding the fire pit, and, when someone approached, willow would burn the charcoals then killing anyone who went there.

    I use mods to cast Willow's spells, such as Characters Keybinds, Better Spell Casting etc. I do recommend them if anyone want to be more agile.

    The fact her fires don’t spread anymore is huge. Actually can play her without risking burning the whole world. Shame she can’t light stacks of stuff with that though.

    • @josephburchanowski4636
      @josephburchanowski4636 10 месяцев назад +1

      I believe her cast flame ability can catch all the items on the ground on fire. The same ability can be used on firepits to put them to full blaze. And if she wants to, she can extinguish the firepit to get instant charcoal, allowing her to mass produce spiders and bees souls into stacks of charcoal. Charcoal is a medium propagator of fire; meaning it does more dps per item and has a larger damage range. Being able to produce so much for cheap means you don't need to worry if you accidentally don't extinguish it in time and it turns to ash.
      Normally rope is the preferred item for fire damage due to its long burn time; but charcoal is a good cheap alternative. Just make sure not to "accidentally" kill your teammates while mass producing the charcoal at a fire pit; as they might not think much about the bunch of charcoal surrounding a firepit, underestimating how much charcoal is there that can catch fire, and stand too close by while you cast your flame.

    Willow has always been the easiest character to survive winter since she is able to simply burn a tree or well anything really and just stay in the fire to overheat insanely fast and she can do that mid combat as he can just continue fighting while burning and she gets warmer from just burning your enemies so yea... And now after the update she even got a mini dwarf star so even when you are at the ruins where there is nothing to burn you can still be perfectly fine without using up your precious star callers

    I just started a world as willow with my friend so this is helpful.
    I have so far gotten nearly all Burny upgrades (I like summons in games) and the suck up fire upgrade. She is veery fun although I don't have enough chests to store all my nightmare fuels haha.
    Funnily enough, during summer I told my friend to not be near the base because it will set on fire and I was underground so I could not save it. My friend didn't listen and when I came back to the base it was all charcoal.
    For once Willow didn't start the base fire.

    Willow really became a damage powerhouse that even Maxwell could envy damage wise right now. She I would say is kind of a jack of all trades with her gear - great at surviving, has area control, removes hazardous fires, has a miniboss bodyguard. Like, fight combat she'll shine like hell as an amazing team asset, but that's where she kinda stays to be as. I'll use her always for ruin raids and for some bosses as I wanna remain as her main cause she's now very comfortable to play as, while sometimes switching to Winona to have her ducktapes synergizing well with the bernies she brings. Comes to think of it, she is basically Wendy before refresh now - bringing more disposable bernies to do the tanking and damaging. Kinda funny how it is now. Wonder how'll Wendy will come out?

    As someone who has recently played with a Willow, if the Willow has any chance to do fire damage to mobs for her embers, she becomes a great team player (full on sun staffs, makes daytime volt goat farming, and can be great AoE)

    I wish she had more synergy with the fire staff and starcaller's staff. Would be cool for Starcallers used by Willow to have some sort of buff such as bigger ball, more warmth area, more time until extinguish.

    I feel like Fire should have a stack limit/if it already has one, lower stack limit(i think gunpowder has it so there's probably code to be copy and pasted) but deal decent damage without having to be stacked. That or just allow people to have fun with nuking bosses while buffing fire as a standalone thing. As of right now the most use of it is stunning annoying enemies like bishops which normally can't be kited. And just a general thing for all chars.

    • @DVGMedia1
      @DVGMedia1  10 месяцев назад

      they could do it but i think it would make fire too strong then. cause then you could just drop one stack of grass and do 120 dps. would also be very dangerous for players.
      I say they could do it because they already do that for willow and her sanity fires.
      when willow gets sanity from fires it now takes into account stacks of items burning.
      So a stack of rope gives more sanity than a single rope burning.

    there was always one big problem with this one, BERNIE range, if u get ever so slightly away from bernie he returns to his bernie form, to compensate this they gave 2 speed points to allocate, this doesn't fix it, they have to give him more loaded area in gerenal not just pasive speed, even the speed he gets aint enough, which makes the regen abillity also kinda useless because only if u run away from nightmares he will regen fully, and in general its not worth to ppl simply bcuz u can throw another bernie or just sew him, overall too many points to allocate to bernie BERNIE in order to make serious use of his AoE aka BURN BERNIE* if i remember corectly you need to like allocate 6-8 points to bernie to utilize his AoE, So yea better focus on wizard willow rather bernie unless u want the passive rescource thing

    I really love this Willow. The only real complaint I have is the same one as Woodie's. You're pretty much as good as you are on day 1 which is I interesting because Woodie is also ultra fun and unique to play. I will say though that post rift willow is pretty good. Between the brightshade gear and bernie post rift mobs are pretty fun to deal with.

    bernie's affinities are weird and im not sure if klei ever fixed it in the beta:
    does bernie get the 10% shadow creature resistance from a shadow affinity or lunar affinity? iirc it was lunar affinities in the beta, but i stopped keeping track of the changes x-x

      Bernie gets Universal planner damage resistance and he also gets resistance to the same type that you choose he gains bonus damage against the opposite type

      just the mistakes i made when making the skill tree for my stream. But doing so also showed me how great scalemail was for her so Everything became balanced.
      I thought i had to choose between 2 skills on the build I went. But i found out you don't even need to go into her fire builds to go into spells. so you can completely ignore bonus fire damage. If you check the stream I was talking about that lol

    I see you mentioned the new additions from the skill tree, do you plan to add something to any of the characters you tried while they didn't have an skill tree once their skill tree releases?

    • @DVGMedia1
      @DVGMedia1  10 месяцев назад

      What im hoping is that usually skill trees are ment to make the character better at what they already do. And also to give them an alternate play style.
      But if something is worth noting i don't mind doing another quick analysis

    Great video. When skill tree was first released I kinda thought it was gonna be very boring due to her lunar spell being portrayed by many as something stupidly strong. I was wrong, now I would consider it second best skill tree after Wormwood's one (although it shares all of the usual skill trees issues, as you stated, Willow shows her cards way too early on)
