Here's another project based on the HRE research, which as seen in the most recent community post, is complete is 9 of the 11 regions (with the 10th nearly complete). Correction regarding this video: The Fricktal area was ceded to Switzerland in 1803; it shouldn't be shown as part of Germany beyond that point. Unfortunately I only noticed this after uploading, but it has no effect on Bavaria.
Bavaria is the origin of the "Welsh" three feathers ..and the motto "ich dien" (I serve). They're only Welsh because the English Norman's colonialism forced it on them. Most modern Welsh people are clueless
Fun fact: the House of Wittelsbach still exists and currently has the Jacobite claim to the English throne. (The Wittelsbachs have historically been one of the more interesting German noble families)
This video was made based on his research on the HRE, which Napoleon dissolved in 1806. My guess is he didn't have the research available for that period yet? After all, this video is basically a "filler" episode until the full HRE video comes out.
"There's a famous slogan here in the Bavarian dialect, and we use it inside Bayern Munich. We say, 'Mia san mia.' Literally, it is, 'We are we,' but it means, 'We are who we are.' That's not being very arrogant, but we are very confident about our ability to win the game. It is about a winning mentality." - Bastian Schweinsteiger 🇩🇪 ❤️
Bavaria and Saxony are the only german states wich know how to be "German" by taking pride in their own people and history. Germans are a collective of smaller nationalities: nowadays the majority however are merely just obedient, internationalised and uncultured post-Prussian _Standarddeutsche_
Hi there, Ollie Bye, can you please make videos on the histories of the Srivijaya Empire, the Bruneian Empire and the Malacca Sultanate. Thank you very much.
Ein kleiner Fehler zum Ende hin: Der Landkreis Lindau (1946-1956 Sonderstatus "Bayerischer Kreis Lindau" als Teil der französischen Besatzungszone) gehört seit 1956 wieder zu Bayern.
Yep, and what is wrong with it? Those upper/lower distinctions are not about the place on the map, but about the natural features of the land. Roughly put, upper Bavaria is more mountainous than lower one.
Please don't autotranslate your videos. The German translations for both title and video description are not just incorrect, they are also confusing since the content of the video is in English.
0:51 very interesting❤❤❤😊😊😊🔥🔥🔥 I love so much the History of Holy roman empire, the history of modern day Germany, the history of Bavary, the history of Austria, the History of central europe and the History of germanic countries❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊🔥🔥🔥

i think it would be great to overlay major (at the time) cities for reference and estimated population

I don't know why but I laughed a bit.
i am very excited for the history of north america from you and the history of HRE from Ollie
That's 3:50 sir
The border progression with Hungary was excellently done! Amazing work overall too!
Awesome video! It was interesting to see how much Bavaria expanded under the Wittelsbachs during the middle ages
Great video. And I personally think we need a description layer to see what's making Bavaria expanding.
Fun fact: the House of Wittelsbach still exists and currently has the Jacobite claim to the English throne.

The HRE video is going to be the greatest mapping video ever!
My main takeaway is how bloody ancient and eternal Venice is
Still on the quest of mapping the entire HRE history? You got some endurance, can't wait to see the finished product
I'm still amazed at how detailed your videos are
Hello from Bavaria 🇩🇪 🇦🇹
Always nice to have an Ollie bye video.
Great video! Nice to see the HRE video is almost done, and happy new year Ollie!
Finally, another video, and Happy New Year!
WELCOME BACK, THE LEGEND!!! LONG LIVE THE LEGENDARY RUclipsR! :D
3:40 skipped the Napoleonic period!!!!
must be the fact that they got absorbed or ignored due to the Rhenish Confederacy
It is wonderful to watch this video at the end of the year 2024.
Is there a reason you're omitting the short but territorially interesting period of the Napoleonic wars?

another day another banger
I would've thought Bavaria existed during the Napoleonic wars, or maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
Great video nethertheless.
It did exist during the napoleonic wars, out of which it actually gained a lot of land visible here for the 1819 timestamp.
I really wanted to see Napoleonic Bavarian Tyrol too
Wake up lil bro OllieBye just uploaded a masterpiece🔥🔥🔥
I loved the musical track on this!
Good video Ollie!

So, how long will this project for the HRE take you?
Greetings from Bavaria, good Video❤
I didn't know Bavaria's had lands in the Low Countries, this is interesting.

Good video ❤
100th comment and so glad to have gotten one final video this year. Can't wait for what's coming next!
Glad you liked it!
2:11 That moment when Lower Bavaria is more North than Upper Bavaria and when Upper Bavaria is more South than Lower Bavaria.

It's not about north and south but about elevation, upper bavaria is closer to the alps.
Thank you both for educating me on the topography and geography of Bavaria. I didn't know that but now I do. /srs /gen (This is not sarcasm.)
Hi can I get a tutorial on how you do these mapping works. It would be of great help !!
I Love you vids :)

Is this a feature within RUclips I need to change? I'm not deliberately doing anything, it's intended to be watched in English only.
Nice!!!
I was just looking at the community post for just an hour before this uploaded, what a coincidence!!
