*Correction- It's not land of the mermaids but land of the marmalade.
I’m glad my younger self didn’t understand what the hell was going on cause I would be scared for the rest of my life.
It not creepy
It just sad
oh god yes
Same
I’m my young self and I don’t wanna know what this means
I'm my young self I wanna know what this means
I just can't listen to this. I break out in tears, every single time. This is the most reliable tear-jerker I've encountered on RUclips.
does it still work bro
@_Josuh I'm a minute into the video and I'm not crying. It's sad, yeah, but isn't so sad that it brings me to the point of _tEARs._
@@yurimessiah so, you're not a human...
@@yurimessiah i mean when i'm sad SAD is like “oh no i'm crying now”, but when i'm,,,, in a “normal” mood, it's just like “ow, how sad” and that's it-.
@@Rafinha50 ofc i'm human, i just don't find it that sad lmao. i've seen worse.
I always think of this video every time i'm in my Electrical Engineering Class. Because the first input command you type into a basic programmable computer, is the words......."Hello world"
Wait that's what you type in first thing? (Sorry I'm kind of a musical weeb psychologist)
And how does that work
sirwilliam lundy for a rasberry pi (a very simple programmable circuit board) for some reason the input, “hello world” has always been the first code block you learn, and is usually displayed across a text scroller display. It actually is the first input in multiple languages too such as scratch, python, javascript, Ruby, and more. Also across multiple spoken languages, Chinese, Russian, etc etc. in this case I’m assuming miku is, “waking up” from her first input. Hello world~
Have you heard Louie Zong’s “Hello, World”? It’s based on a lonely computer’s thoughts. ^___^
I FORGOT THAT I DID THAT AS WELL NOW I'M CRYING ;-;
Man this song has the feels. When I first heard it, it sounded so cute, and happy. However upon watching the pv It really pulls on your heart strings. When you put it int perspective its not soooo sad. Miku wakes up to find that her master was missing and their plant had not sprouted yet. So she sets out on a perilous journey to find her beloved master. During this journey she greets all the places she comes across (including when she mistakes volcanoes for marmalade^-^). When it starts to rain garbage, her master appears to hand her an umbrella to keep her save, then vanishes. With renewed hope she continues on in search of her master. Eventually she arrives to her master's grave. She discovers that he has passed, and while she was approaching the grave she was falling apart. Heart broken she cries and the tear falls in the plants pot. After this Miku dies, however the plant grows and sends her spirit soaring through the sky, stars, and even time itself, to finally reach heaven. That is when she is finally reunited with her master, and they can be happy. Also due to Miku's actions the earth began to grow vegetation again, and life will return.
At the end a letter arrives in the empty mail box, which is probably sent by Miku from heaven since it states hello planet. It transitions to Miku's body, which is laying next to her masters grave with a smile, holding the plant. If you look at it like this, in the Fact that Miku missed and cared for her master so much, that she would go out into the Apocalypse just to find him, that is determination. I mean she ventured all over a dangerous world to find this guy, she could have just stayed in bed instead, but her love for her master was so great that in the end it transcended even death itself just to be with him. To top that off she revived the planet, so I would say its a happy ending. Even so Its still a feel coster, I mean I was tearing up at how Miku love her master so much that she would go through all of that to just find the one person she cared about in the whole empty world, I mean yeah thats deep. And when she finds his grave, thats just an emotional drop on the feel coster, but when she finds him it more like tears of joy and happiness.
I won't lie, a few tears were shed while typing this, just a few^^'. Well to wrap things up, i'd just like to say man it would be awesome to have someone who cares about you that much, that they go through Apocalypse and for go their own safety just to find/ be with you again. I mean have a person like that thankfully, Im just stating that the bond between master and creator deplicted in this song/video is so heartwarming^^
+MKninjastudios and then I listened to First Sound. oh my god I am losing tears
It's even more sad when you watch the other three songs in the series. First comes The weekend/end is coming by Rin, Second is 16 bit war by gumi, Third is The Wanderlast by Luka(I think this is the saddest one) and lastly Hello Planet
MikuMikuStudios like
Stop it, you're getting me all teary.
so it's basically "Miku bizzare adventure"?
This is my favourite vocaloid song ever!
In my interpretation it is basically about a future where the planet Earth's human life was extincted, and there is only a android left, wich is miku, and the whole song is about her journey in a totally polluted world to her owner's grave (place where he was burried) and when she actually dies, she went to heaven, and as time passes by, the Earth regenerate itself and the letter sent at the end, is from Miku in heaven to the beings that may appear
basically Wall-E
SCREAMS: I know right 😱
I actually teared up while reading this
2:49 the subs say "Land of the mermaids" (whaaat?) but she is actually saying "marmalade"... as in the orange stuff you spread on sandwiches. She thinks the lava is marmalade!
Well that's adorable. Now I'm going to think of volcanoes as large scale orange marmalade delivery systems.
N'awwwwww ^.^
+TheKanonHara The translator must've misheard "maamaredo" as "maamedo" which is a pretty easy mistake to make if you listen to it.
@@Rory_Shade Really painful marmalade
That's adorable
**playing this on Mirai DX**
So cute it reminds me to Wall-E!
**Watching the actual PV and full version**
It's so sad but still reminds me to Wall-E 😢
WAS WAITING FOR THIS COMMENT
Robot in an apocalyptic world with a plant while searching for someone the robot loves? Same plot /positive
@@lunanote-cassettemeower Super glad I'm not the only one who thinks that 😭
And here I thought I was only one who thinks this reminds Wall - E in a way. Lonely robot left all by themselves on apocalyptic earth. With nothing but few collection items the most important one being a plant in pot
Same tho the first time I played it on mirai dx I realized what it meant..
I think this story is a metaphor for coping with a loved one's death. The message is that the world may feel bleak and hollow without the person you loved, but you should keep on living and honor their memory because that's what they'd want. You'll see them again in the afterlife, so stay strong and hang in there.

This is sweet and tragic. There is such an element of unending love and loyalty to Miku as a robot on a destroyed world. She tries so hard, and spends herself to the end. It makes her heroic.
I'm not crying you're crying
No what are you talking about my eyes are dry haha yeahhhh ;v;
What do you mean I'm crying?? I'm uh... *pulls out onions* NOW YOURE CRYING HAHA
Sure Riko, Sure.
I'm.....really not
Indeed
we're all crying
The world ended.
Rin never got to confess to her crush.
Gumi went down at war.
Luka's either dead or stuck in space as the last survivor.
And Miku is in Heaven with her dead master.
Why do Vocaloid songs end horribly so often?
CJCroen1393 Luka is actually the scientist/miku's creator in Wanderlast. I kinda got a hint because of the gear clothing while still looking human. Also she says "Boku" which is a more masculine way to identify yourself
Pixel Bunny bokura no 16 bit warz
Japanese has the religion look by which the world will extinct in the future. And VOCALOID can make the song which doesn't become popular as a business.
CJCroen1393 no in this song mikus the last survivor of a nucular war
CJCroen1393 and len is dead
again
This song is so innocent yet sad ;-;
Dat 16-Bit beats hit me like a truck.

Exactly....why is this song sounding so happy when Miku dies.....?!?!?!?
Im scared of that and she was poking a dead humans skeleton 😥
Yup..
Same
Soul crushingly innocent
*This song*
Why can't I hold all these feels?
it's OK, just hug all the feels out
I can't either
The part when her arm fell off gave me the chills
Same tho...
10 years ago when i listen to this song i interpreted it as an optimistic song where miku keep holding onto her one hope till the very end but now listen to it again today i realize in the end miku passed away with regrets that until the very last moment her "hope" didnt sprout as she close her eyes for good
Saaaameeeee
YEA! When I played this song on PDE for the first time, I thought she was lost and would save the planet by being the last, but then she finds where others died and passes out of sadness until her "ship" locates her and saves her so she can try again.
When i first heard this song i cried, and i didn't even see the lyrics.
Now that i have seen the lyrics, i finally understood why i cried.
It reminds me of my relationship with my father.
He isn't dead, but i rarely see him. I want to get closer to him but i can't.
The pitch of miku's voice at 0:34 to 0:36 reminds me of a game me and my father use to play when i was younger, and closer to him.
That pitch made me cry.
I would give anything to take him to a miku concert and hear this song.
i hope you got to take him to a miku concert :0)
This got 39 likes too ( I’m 10 years late to the party )
Wait
Did anyone relize when Miku was in heaven with her master, when it zoomed in on the plant-
That wasent miku or her master
*it was Luka and someone else*
I saw it at 4:23!!!
whAT DOES THIS MEANNNN
IS LUKA GOD OR SOMETHING
GOD LUKA 2K16
+K80full maybe it had something to do with Wanderlast?
Lol
Maybe Maybe! But its a cool detail to notice either way~
+K80full it is!
I discovered this song in Hatsune Miku colorful stage.
When I first heard it, i thought "What an adorable song". The first time I played through it, I tried to watch the PV while playing through the song and right after the song ended I saw Miku's grave in the PV.
I felt my whole body shiver then thought "someone died...?". Right after existing the game. I quickly opened RUclips and man... I didn't expect I would tear up so much
Me to
THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME 😭
Same thing, I added it to my playlist without watching it after seeing it on colorful stage, and listened to it during class. But at the last notes something felt wrong, so now I’m looking at it and Christ I’m gonna cry myself to sleep tonight

If the world really ended...
It'd honestly be nice to have a cute robot walk all over it and sing the last song ever, don't you think? ^^
Yes
yeah…
i remember watching this a few years ago, but i never felt emotional about it nor did i understand what was happening in this. then i remembered this so i went to search it up and i watched the video again, this time i understood what was happening and i started crying :'(
I know. Every time she said "Ohayoo--" it breaks my heart to pieces, every single time. Made me wanna tell her to stop.. stop greeting something that's not gonna greet you back. Crap, my tears won't stop flowing now.
I wished I could accompany her till she was gone...
I like to imagine that since she's a robot she was programmed to greet her master with "ohayoo" (good morning) and now she's leaving the shelter for the first time she is greeting everything she meets with ohayoo.
SAME BRO!!!
Its 2020 and im literally crying now
yo me too buddy
I listened to this 2 year ago and I cried for an hour, I listed to it on the 5 April and still am crying

I’m not gonna cry.
I’m not gonna cry.
I’m not gonna cry.
I’m not gonna cry.
I’m not gonna cry.
I’m not gonna- DAMN IT.
Probably pointed out already but it's not Land of Mermaids it's The earth made of marmalade
3:24 gives me the sad everytime. The background 8-bit sound and miku going down is just too powerful
This is a fusion between Earthbound beginnings and a post-apocalyptic vocaloid and I love it
Guys this is connected with Luka's song "Wanderlast"
There’s a whole album made by sasakureP, who produced these songs, called “Do Vocaloids Dream Of The Doomsday Bird?”. Both songs, plus other pieces with a similar theme (such as “Our 16-Bit War”) are all in the album.
アニメーションと曲でダブルパンチ!!泣いた😭
あきかん ほんまそれ
This song is so sad, but so cute :3
This will forever be a gem in my eyes
say why is Luka hinted at TWICE in this! 1. at the beginning you can see her blue medallion and 2. you can see her in her..-shirt at about 4:23 ?
Rarecrazy cause the song that took place before this is The WanderLast. heres the songs in order:
-Weekend is Coming
-Our 16bit Warz
-The Wanderlaat
-Hello, Planet
-Sayonara, Worlds End
Mirai-P right right right I know doomsday series....just...thinking
That’s luka and ren!
Yeah
ォハヨ and ハヨ are not good morning. オハョ is hello, while ハヨ is ello.
The letter : ”きみときみのあいするひとをたいせつにね"
"Take care of yourself and those you love"
I always cry when she says "good morning."I love this song so much. It is the only song by Miku that makes me cry.
ミクが可哀想すぎて画面をまともに見られないよ。。。
Amazing how this video still gets me crying even after so many years later. Great animation and great song.
this was my favourite song in project mirai DX, I’m so glad they added it to project sekai
in conclusion.
the plants from Mario Bros could never.
the style of this pv is so good..

As you start to cry reading the lyrics
what?! im not crying! your crying!
(btw. this is my fav. voclaroid song but by dear god its so sad-)
Okay she gets her happy ending and all, but what about the mail box. It had feelings too.
Poor mailbox
it sound like the constant Ohayo (good morning) throughout the song is signaling the dawn of a new beginning. Being that morning is the first part of a new day (metaphorically) a new age. Very uplifting.
this song has reliably made me cry every time i watch it for like 5 years now
My interpretation is that it's a post apocalyptic world where all humans are gone and miku is oblivious to it.
She sets off to find him, going through all this stuff, holding this plant, the plant exists to preserve life on the planet,
Although Miku is an immortal being who can be accessed by anyone who owns vocaloid, in this situation she dies specifically because there was no other purpose for her to stay alive.. she's exhausted and without her human, she is purposeless..
Strange to think some day in the future, yet born civilations or even aliens could load up someone's computer and find miku waiting there for them.
I love this song and I love everyone who has made vocaloid what it is.
Namaste, goodmorning, and memento mori
slightly off-topic but this song was the last song that was played on the rythm music bot in a discord server that im in. im gonna go and get some tissues now TT
This makes me emotional like you wouldn't believe
I'll admit that not many of these sad videos and songs and stuff make me cry, but when I realized the true meaning of the song coupled with the video, the tears just started flowing. :'(
TTvTT Beautiful... How can a tune so upbeat make someone cry like this...
i came from colorful stage and wtf i wasnt expecting this to be sad
Oh noooo I knew this was sad ;-;
I knew it when playing project mirai and I told myself I didn't really want to know but noooo I had to go and look it up T.T
The art is super cute
And the feels

At first I thought this song wasn't sad, but now it kinda is

this is sad and happy story

This 5 minute vid combines ideas from Yokohama Shopping Log, Canticle fror Leibowitz, the 200 year old man, the Wandering Jew / Dutchman, etc. That's pretty awesome!
I always cry inside me when the song is about to end. I don't know why I don't go to tears.
good lord - such beautiful...Feel like yesterday I still listen to Vocaloid and Miku

+Ayla G *sobs together*
dang same
Goddamn it even after 10 years this still makes me cry ;-;
@akibapop Hmm... the way I interpret her reason for saying that was that the lava spread over the earth in sizes like the oceans, which would be "the land of mermaids," with it possibly even replacing the oceans themselves.
Just when I had gotten used to the videogame-style PV I had to go and watch this one. AND NOW I'M CRYING =AGAIN=
rayos miku es demasiado tierna.
Wow, it was sad, but she ended up happy at the end. x3 That's all that anyone could ask for. Oh, and didn't it kind of seem like Miku WAS the planet? Like the world had come to an end and she was missing the humans who used to live there?
This is one of my favorite Vocaloid songs
@TheAnimelover180 Yep, that thing is the Tree of Life as represented in the Kabbalah. It shows ten spheres, each one representing a cardinal attribute and their interrelationship, which are part of a diagram called "Sephirot".
;u; This PV is so amazing.
This is like the first PV that's ever made me cry.
It's amazing.
To the tears falling down from my eyes I say good morning
merci d'avoir mis toutes les chanson de miku ❤
I just realized something.. if anybody was on that world, all they would see is a robot with a pot of dirt repeating "Good morning, good morning. Good morning, good morning. I want, I want, I want. Good morning..."
素晴らしい…😭
I haven't seen this video in a long time, but it still brings tears to my eyes. Not many song or PV do that. Let a lone one that's been around this long. God I love this song.
That's so sad! the human is supposed to be Miku's owner and the one she loves, right? i don't understand the entire video, but i understand Miku dies trying to find the "person", and she dreams happily of him as she fades. The song sounds so happy but it's making me all emotional! T^T
I translated the morse code, and it says "hellohello". This is probably obvious for people who know morse code, but just wanted to point it out.
There was morse code in the original. This version took some stuff out for some reason.

Me: *getting flashbacks from when my miku plush arm fell off*
As TV Tropes says, *Soundtrack Dissonance* at it's most _heartbreaking._
Ok so I have a story that is close to this one, that happened to me. I was at my moms house, and she kept yelling and stuff. So i snapped, and decided to run away later on that night. but my true goal of running away was to find my dad, bc i don't know where he is. I almost died on the adventure (but miku actually died lol) and i was brought back to my old house, and my mom was devastated
you almost died? how? this is interesting i would like more explanation
このpv完成度高過ぎて泣けてくる
WHY AM I CRYING SO HARDDDDDDD
Miku turned into a mirrored Neru with one arm
@EarthLova98 Yes. The one plant she cared for finally replanted the destroyed planet. She ended up in heaven, with her master. (tears)

I think the story goes like she was a video game character and the guy was her controller and he died so she went looking for him. Doesnt seem to make sense but if you watch and read the vid with that in mind it makes alot of things clear.
I love this song
Whoa nice catch!! The prequel to the song is sung by Luka so she's definitely connected to the series!
