8:00 Oliver stops working. Duck: *"Hello Oliver, are we being a good-gracious engine?. Beg pardon of course but we really don't like this sort of surprise."*
Love the idea of keeping Donald and Douglas separated! It would make them much easier to identify, especially when they’re paired together. It honestly makes so much sense that they should be visually distinct by their paint job, that I’m surprised that was never a plot point in the books or tv shows!!
That's the thing, Oliver doesn't NEED a new chassis! The deal here is that this particular 14xx was actually a parts engine that my friend and I bought to do a traction tire delete on my Airfix 14xx, so it's got another set of traction tires when it's not supposed to, which means it can't pick up any power from the tracks. Guarantee that once a set of those wheels are replaced with some steel-rimmed ones it'll run just fine!
You did a great job with the Little Western duo. Shame about having to get Oliver a new chassis, though. I can't wait to see how Donald and Douglas turn out.
I think your idea for Donald and Douglas is a great one, makes the two feel different frm each other and helps lessen the confusion between the two. Hope you can find a suitable chassis for Oliver.
And like the idea how you're making Donald and Douglas separate colors you can tell who's who and you can say that Sir Topham Hatt didn't want them to switch tenders
I like the idea of representing Donald and Douglas in different liveries! Even the fat controller knows that repainting an engine takes time so the scenario could be that one has had the repaint and the other is still waiting.
I don't know if you've already fixed Oliver since the original video was made, but you could try and replace the motor. Finding a spare motor or replacing it with a different one might be cheaper than buying a brand new chassis.
The motor isn’t the issue, the fact that 4 of 6 wheels on the loco have insulating traction tyres is the issue. Couple that with pickups that probably haven’t been clean since the model was new and you have a perfect receipt for a loco that won’t run.
I think that the reason why Duck has the number 5741 is that he realy did work at Wales and felt envy for his brothers who got to work at London, so he made up stories to make himself feel better about himself to make him seem like an important engine towards others.
Really like the colour you picked for them. I find it amazing how you have created a real model railway with most of the characters. It is shame you don't live in the UK, you could have a touring exhibition here!
best case scenario for Oliver is to just replace the motor. I know the part number is X8057, which can be found for less than 10 bucks online at various shops. No soldering is needed, the wire is screwed on
update: I am in possession of a quite mint 23 year old 14xx from Hornby and I would suggest checking that the pickups are touching the wheels and making sure the rear axle is sprung
For "Oilver" try looking around for an older Airfix chassis. The traction tires on the middle axle make for really poor electrical pick-up, and the old middle axle from the Airfix chassis swapped into the Hornby Chassis usually makes for a more reliable runner.
You could put 9 , Donnald and 10 Douglas on different side of each model the. Depending on what way the loco is facing you have Donald and Douglas represented in both livery just depending on what way they are facing.
Duck: I love it so much thanks Tug! ^^ Oliver: - Realize he couldn't movie - ............ - Let's out a High Pitch Baby Crying noises - Duck: Don't worry he will give you new wheels somehow plus we have Toad and Isabel. P.s. I love that Color Feature of Donald so much that matches the illustrations of the Railway Series. Maybe I could do it in Trackmaster Version in the future.
At some point in the past someone’s done a number on that 14xx. All 4 driving axles have wheelsets with traction tyres whereas from factory they’re only supposed to have one set of wheels with tyres. No wonder it wouldn’t run.
This interesting concept for D&D is one in NWR Blue while the other is in Black, which I imagine The Fat Controller would do to prevent a repeat of the missing coach incident.
Just wanted to give a heads up that Accurascale is about to release the 5700 class in 00 scale, with the circular windows as well as with the 5741 number plate. If you're looking to update your models, there's a window right there as I heard mostly nothing but praise for the company.
Soo if you think about it... James is a Dean Goods engine right? And the Dean goods class engines were built by the GWR, so that means... JAMES IS AN GREAT WESTERNER AS WELL!!!
When you get Oliver a new chassis, you should get him Toad as well. As for Donald and Douglas, I would have preferred if both of them were black. We already have a lot of blue engines, but very few black ones.
Accurascale made a 57xx class numbered 5741, which is the number duck wears in The Railway Series. If I were to get that locomotive I will paint it up to look like duck from The Railway Series like you did
I would try getting a new Hornby 14xx, but the new Railroad Plus one still has a faulty mechanism. They tried fixing the pickup issues but it still didn’t solve anything.
When it comes to Donald and Douglas I actually really like that idea of having one in black why the other blue it just speeds that maybe the twins were bickering what liberty they should have and they were stuck and they were kind of getting old about being mistaken for each other so like fine you take 1 and all and I'll have the other.
Hello Tug. I've been enjoying your model train shorts where you show them running on your layout. Just to let you know, I have a Hattons 14xx going spare if you wanted one for Oliver. You said you had one yourself but was reluctant to use it for Oliver because they're rare now, but If you do want to use one for him I have a spare you can have.
I do wanna say something I don't remember if it was you before your old channel got deleted or if it was someone else but isn't Oliver's actual running number 1420 and then he has different number plates that were presumably ripped off with a scrap that engine
hey unluckytug I just had a question, blick doesnt have saphire blue, brick rex, mint green, anything on their website. do you have a link or a website you got it from?
I find it weird that you said that you had a 57xx with square windows. No 57xx had square windows. Only the 8750 class got the larger cab with square windows, so that’s probably what you have
Aw, Oliver's so realistic! Not even being able to move like when he was going to be sold for scrap in Escape!
Well his motor sure is going for scrap.
lol so true
Dang!
You beat my comment by 1 like 😅
8:00 Oliver stops working.
Duck: *"Hello Oliver, are we being a good-gracious engine?. Beg pardon of course but we really don't like this sort of surprise."*
This is the best comment
Get this to the top!
Also
Duck: Oh dear, looks like Oliver got some of the bad coal that arrived today
😂😂😂

The episode "Bill or Ben?" does something similar.
That's the thing, Oliver doesn't NEED a new chassis! make this the top comment so tug sees this
Duck and Oliver. In my opinion. Ate the BEST characters.
Who did they "eat?"
@@wyattgoralski818 gordon and edward im guessing
@@Lampironstudios215 LOL
They ate Splatter and Dodge?!?! NOOOOOO
Ate ?
You did a great job with the Little Western duo. Shame about having to get Oliver a new chassis, though. I can't wait to see how Donald and Douglas turn out.
Same here I would absolutely love to see Donald and Douglas in the next Tugs Trains episode
I think your idea for Donald and Douglas is a great one, makes the two feel different frm each other and helps lessen the confusion between the two. Hope you can find a suitable chassis for Oliver.
Considering the fat controller was messed with before they had name plates, this helps prevent a “missing coach” situation from happening again.
Gotta love the use of Home’s “Sunshower” as the intro, just like SummoningSalt with Home’s “We’re Finally Landing”
Can’t wait to see our Scottish Twins.
And like the idea how you're making Donald and Douglas separate colors you can tell who's who and you can say that Sir Topham Hatt didn't want them to switch tenders
For the round cab windows, you could’ve made them using some random parts.
I’ve found that the bottom sides of LEGO studs work pretty well
"There are two ways of doing things, the great western way or the wrong way"
And this most definitely is the great western way.
Such great customs and a great format for reviewing some of the simpler customs can’t wait for what’s next maybe the Scottish twins or spam can
Duck and Oliver are one of my favorite characters of all time
Me too!
So nice to watch these again while they're being reuploaded
I like the idea of representing Donald and Douglas in different liveries!
Even the fat controller knows that repainting an engine takes time so the scenario could be that one has had the repaint and the other is still waiting.
8:39 (Oliver cries like a newborn baby for a split second before the camera cuts to the next scene)
Great Job on both models glad to see you're up and running again.
I don't know if you've already fixed Oliver since the original video was made, but you could try and replace the motor. Finding a spare motor or replacing it with a different one might be cheaper than buying a brand new chassis.
X8057, can be found for stupid cheap, and no soldering is needed to attach the wire, it's all screws

Oliver has stage fright he's not dead
Honestly, make them BOTH blue. The black representation has been used for so long and the blue just makes them look more visually appealing.
For "Oilver" try looking around for an older Airfix chassis. The traction tires on the middle axle make for really poor electrical pick-up, and the old middle axle from the Airfix chassis swapped into the Hornby Chassis usually makes for a more reliable runner.
Best trains ever. U did a very nice job my friend. Keep up the good work
Happy 50K SUBS

I hope we get to see Donald & Douglas soon!
These models are truly Great Western.
8:21 I know the reference has already been made, but I can't not ask, is he being a good gracious engine? lol
You make the best models ever
Remember these fids first upkoading. Love youre work tug. I bought a bachmann oliver a few months ago. My reason for Oliver first was price.
I think having both the Caledonian twins in the same color they can be told apart by there numbers and name plates
In my AU Oliver is actually called Garden Heights (place in my AU) and his shade of green gave him the nickname Oliver.
At some point in the past someone’s done a number on that 14xx. All 4 driving axles have wheelsets with traction tyres whereas from factory they’re only supposed to have one set of wheels with tyres. No wonder it wouldn’t run.

Nice Duck and Oliver models!
QUACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are Amazing, Great Job.😃
Imagine if you made duck waddle along the track
Oliver narrowly avoiding being scrapped again
Hornby railroad has a pre-order for 14xx for I believe 79.99 so if you want a new chassis.

Those too (Duck and Oliver) Look great, I think Dougie (Douglas) Should be black like in the series

Where are you getting that James is a Dean goods??
Awdry has him as a L&YR Class 28
@@NirateGoel I heard James was a Dean goods from somewhere... I think it was Train Boy or something... Idk
@@Railroaders_For_Life That's just a head canon. James is officially a Class 28 but modified a little.
I love the Little Western Duo

I remember watching this when it first came out during lunch at school last year
I would've loved it if Donald and Douglas had different liveries in the series at some point, they'd absolutely argue over who's is better
Donald and Douglas can't wait
Since Dapol is doing OO 14XX’s, maybe you can use its chassis when it launches.
I went on TMC (because Hattons is closed obviously) searched ‘5700’ and found right livery and circle windows from accurascale
Alternate title “How I built the Great Western”
Oliver's just being a good gracious engine.
Tug hornby just released the 1400 for $70 on their website
8:37 WESTERN
RAILWAY!!!
Oliver took a nap real quick just a Long Nap
I do like the silver smokebox darts and hinges - very classical Great Western. Copper-topped funnels might be a step too far though.
Accurascale made a 57xx class numbered 5741, which is the number duck wears in The Railway Series. If I were to get that locomotive I will paint it up to look like duck from The Railway Series like you did
Are you going to make RWS Old Shape Henry?.
I would try getting a new Hornby 14xx, but the new Railroad Plus one still has a faulty mechanism. They tried fixing the pickup issues but it still didn’t solve anything.
I have a feeling that once the reuploading finishes, we might see a certain stirling single.
7:02 fox transfers do literally Every GWR loco 😂
When it comes to Donald and Douglas I actually really like that idea of having one in black why the other blue it just speeds that maybe the twins were bickering what liberty they should have and they were stuck and they were kind of getting old about being mistaken for each other so like fine you take 1 and all and I'll have the other.
GWR will always be my favorite British railway.
Both in blue
For the Record I can't tell that Ducks buffer housing where card. I wouldn't of noticed it until you pointed it out.
Please do more How I Builts!
Duck has probably been my favorite tank engine and donald and douglas have always been my favorite tender engines
If you do Donald and Douglas into different colors you can't mix them up as much
"Oliver is dead" -said the frustrated man.
Hello Tug. I've been enjoying your model train shorts where you show them running on your layout. Just to let you know, I have a Hattons 14xx going spare if you wanted one for Oliver. Nice video the unlucky tug
0:29 "will start with 🦆"
Why were you trying to find a GWR liveried version... just to paint it over? Wouldve been easier to widen the search to BR versions too
0:28. We'll Start With
🦆 (Quack)
can you do henry where you tell witch paint you used as in name and brand please
I do wanna say something I don't remember if it was you before your old channel got deleted or if it was someone else but isn't Oliver's actual running number 1420 and then he has different number plates that were presumably ripped off with a scrap that engine
hey unluckytug I just had a question, blick doesnt have saphire blue, brick rex, mint green, anything on their website. do you have a link or a website you got it from?
question what program did you use to create your layout.
no NO PUT 9 AND 10 ON THE TENDERS THEN PAINT BOTH IN BLUE!!!
Wtf you doing bro that shit look good my boy
do u have any duplicates of the models ur percy model is so cool
edit: nvm ik how to make 1
There is Caledonian railway 812 which is donald and douglas' irl basis so you would need 2 of tyem
Oh
8:02 Oliver refuses to do anything.
Nice to see
That 14xx used to work but it fell off my layout and it never ran so sorry about the broken base
For the longest time I never knew Duck and Oliver were cousins
You need to build a model train version of the train that inspired Toby The Tram Engine.
I got to say I prefer to see the twins in black since it gets a bit boing seeing almost all the trains either blue or green.
I think they should both be in blue
Next sodor's finest: Annie & Clarabel
I find it weird that you said that you had a 57xx with square windows. No 57xx had square windows. Only the 8750 class got the larger cab with square windows, so that’s probably what you have
Just curious but when do you plan on releasing some of the other videos of some of the other characters you made that you never showed prior
Nice
Hang on, BR Black is TV series!
Have you considered Duck to not be 5741, but 5766? Since 5766 was a pilot at London Paddington.
Might I ask why you chose to start with LMS 812s rather than the BR 812s that don't have the Westinghouse pumps?
