@@ronniepaulinc , I have the same problem, "Read-only state: Yes", while "Read-only: No" and my USB doesn't have any switch, it's very simple. +Jian Xiang Hi, check this out it should help: superuser.com/questions/972015/how-to-clear-current-read-only-state-on-a-usb-flash-drive-i-setup-with-rufus
Hi, so the read only = No, but the Read-only state : Yes, is this correct? It might be that the volume is write protected, to check this: Type: diskpart hit enter, Type: list volume, hit enter. Type: select volume # (Choose the volume number of the card you want to check) Type: attributes volume, hit enter. If it says the volume is write protected, remove it. Type: attributes disk clear readonly, hit enter. Hopefully this helps.
7 years later, still works . Thanks 🍕🍻
Still write protected
Thank you! Finally fixed my sandisk cruzer, Don't understand how it write protected itself in the first place, but it works now.
current read-only state : yes
still not working :(
it means your disk is bad or there is a physical switch to write protect it

Hi, did the instruction still has same problem. Thanks anyways mate
+Jian Xiang That's a shame, but always worth a go. Good luck.
nope followed all directions didnt work
Thanks!
Yeah! It Doesn't Change ! It's still Write Protected! so Now What?
Ain't working why? "Current Read-only state" still with yes
Read only state always says YES
Hi, so the read only = No, but the Read-only state : Yes, is this correct?
It might be that the volume is write protected, to check this:
Type: diskpart hit enter,
Type: list volume, hit enter.
Type: select volume # (Choose the volume number of the card you want to check)
Type: attributes volume, hit enter.
If it says the volume is write protected, remove it.
Type: attributes disk clear readonly, hit enter.
Hopefully this helps.
