    I hope there’s a part 4 coming when you put the veneer on

      There is! :) But I've also shown that step before on a different build, if you want to see it now. It's titled ''Make your DIY stands look amazing".

    Thanks for the DIY stand videos… I built two today based on this design. One for my 75 gallon and one for my new 125 gallon!

    Towards the end, when you were talking about finishing it with the particle board, would that be a necessity if only using the stand for a glass tank?
    Or would i be able to use the stand as is at min 17?

    Wish you had videos like this for your tank builds. Your tanks look cleaner and better designed then most.

    I'm getting a lot out or your videos so keep them in depth cause I'm visual person. I struggle flowing diagrams but when you walk thru with the pieces in place then I'm like now I get it. After watching this series I am building my next stand. Thank you

    Thanks for these stand build videos. I have realized that I am going to be forced to build my stand so your info has been greatly appreciated. Especially talking about the loads the legs can collectively support. I only have one question right now which is why you chose to orient the corner guide legs different than what you drew in Part 2 at the 23:30 mark? Looking forward to part 4!

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey good catch! That's actually an inconsistency I didn't intend. Either orientation can work, with slightly different benefits. For this build though, I should've drawn in part 2 what I actually built in part 3.

    When are we getting part 4? I would really like to know how to put the veneer on. I’m starting my build within the week.

    Why did you choose to use particle board? I would think that is the lowest choice on my list so just curious?

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  4 месяца назад

      Particle board is weak on sheer strength, but has good compressive strength. Since I'm only using it for the top, and it is well-supported underneath by cross-braces, it works quite well and saves money.

      @@Riffwaters How do you handle moisture and water spill. That was my main concern and why I thought to use water subfloor.

    • @Riffwaters
      @Riffwaters  4 месяца назад +1

      @@matthewnelson5699 I've never had an issue with that, so honestly don't build with it in mind. I run dehumidifiers in the room, and if the board ever gets wet it always dries out pretty well.

      Yep. Any flat polystyrene will work, but I use home insulation boards from Menards because they're cheap.
