@@drakie7024 All their sold out live shows clearly disagree with you. Check out their recent live performances, he has improved a lot. Also, anyone should be able to tell that these songs are incredibly hard to sing. He's belting at such a high scale in that chorus
Cmon guys, just because he doesn't use playbacks or autotune, it doesn't means he can't sing. The band is pretty cool and they are so creative. Also their songs are damn good
@@rgi4140 Every band uses fx to enhance their vocals in the studio version. It's not as noticeable as in modern pop music, but there is definitely autotune on their songs. Reverb and delay can also be used to make someone sound better than they actually do. Using any of these effects isn't a crime, people have been doing it for decades now, even your favorite bands/artists.
It's an incredibly tough song to sing. He's belting so hard in the chorus. Also, their style demands a heavy use of production and electronics in the studio recording so it obviously sounds better. REgardless, you should se their recent performance. He has improved a lot
@@Keplernx That is absolutely not true anymore. Yes Dustin struggled live in the beginning, but I just saw them this February and they were INSANE live.
Lets get something straight - I really like this band... BUT... He still sounds undeveloped. Lets not kid ourselves. But this guy, at this point, is not a good singer. And before you start asking me if I can sing, hell no I can't. But you don't need to be a director to see a good movie, a chef to enjoy great food, or a mechanic to know when -something- is wrong.
I disagree, they still sound good for a 5 years band. Let's take Skillet for example, they've been around since 1996, and people still going with the "Not that great". It's something that will keep going no matter how good the band is, they will never sound as good as the studio version. That's how is it. The singer is a great singer beside sounding exhausted.
Thats what happens when a dying genre forces a billion performances out of rock artists just to make a paycheck, the vocals can only take so much punishment. These dudes have been touring practically since this album came out. All things considered, he sounds better live than some of the big names I've seen that have 10+ years on Starset.
Ethan Rogers i love starset i love there songs but the live performances can be better than now! Bit i think that dustin can sing good enough to be a superstar Starset is the best band I‘ve ever seen!
Ethan Rogers yeah I love their music, and I guess metal/rock can be tough on the voice as a tour goes on, at least he isn't afraid to try anyway am I right?
Little late here. But I saw them the day after this album came out back in 2017 and he sounded amazing. He’s been touring for almost 2 years straight and for a rock singer that can cause a lot of damage. I feel bad for him because it probably hurts his throat so much.
Listen to their live shows now. He got lessons and got so much better. I saw them live just the other day and he sounded so much better when I saw them back in 2017

One day the earth will open wide
And I'll follow you inside
Cause the only hell i know
Is without you
Even if the sky does fall
Even if they take it all
There's no thing that i wont go through
Even if i have to die for you~
Dustin is getting better day by day he sings so great and somebody can say he can't sing but it's because he doesn't use playback.
Mhm
Shut up you fool, you can clearly hear that he can't sing for shit live. Love the band but it's a terrible live band.

They the best
Well you can't do live. I'll keep listening studio version then. No worries m8. Great song
lol he improved!
So much hate for his live vocals in comments :(
:D yas
Does anyone think he sounds different because of auto tune or bad sound quality from the mic?
He doesn’t use auto tune, probably the camera audio

what did he say when the video started?
I think he said, "I could be that guy, die for you guy."
I guess when you're live, you can't cut and retake
At least they're honest unlike those pop shit artists going live playbacks for simple shit songs

The thing is, he is great at the start of a tour but near the end his voice is almost gone. He needs a vocal coach before he goes mute imo.
