    You mention that it is hotter than 2500 °C ( @1:16 ) , I think it will be much higher. Since it is being burned in pure oxygen it should only be about 280 degrees less (3200 °C ) than an oxyacetylene flame ( 3480 °C - (ref: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adiabatic_flame_temperature#Common_flame_temperatures) . Thanks for the great video, by the way.

      +Bert Isevil : Yes It's may be true, but i have not way to check ! In theory it's a stoechio combustion but juging by the color of the flame, it's more white than blue... !?

      Because you may die. When doing electrolysis you are splitting water (= H2O) into H and O. Salt (= NaCl) may also split into Na and Cl. Cl = chlorine. Chlorine is a toxic gas.

      When one mole of electrons flows, a charge of one Faraday has flow. That is not one Coulomb but 96500 Coulombs !

    • @fzigunov
      @fzigunov 8 лет назад

      Yeah, actually the number is correct (~96500 C). I was actually talking about the units (you used Faraday for charge, but 1F=1C/V, and is a unit of capacitance.)

    yeah you have to increase the velocity of the hydrogen gas to drive the heat out of the torch or it will burn down like a metal candle. all gas torches for welding and such have this necessity.

    Try this experiment again with pure water, but use voltage in the kilo volt range. I've done this, and it actually works. No, electrolyzer. The purer the water the better. The high voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage of the pure water and releases the hydrogen and oxygen.

    Why are we not burning this for power instead of natural gass, coal, or uranium if its by-product is just water? And im not talking about fusion ether, just burning the same way we burn natural gass. We could power our homes wile also simotainiosly supplying water from the same source.

    • @DIYExperiments

      DIY Experiments i understood that water was a product of the oxygen and hydrogen binding together in a chemical reaction that starts and produces heat but ive never heard of water coming from energy. Also does this mean that hydrogen cannot be found in a pure state naturally or in a state thats easy to separate?

    • @DIYExperiments
      @DIYExperiments  6 лет назад +1

      I never said that we could make water from energy ^^ I just sait that this doesn't create energy, the whole energy comes from electricity (and the global efficiency is low, around 40%).

      +Parth Patel : Our french original video was released in 2012... I have seen his video at the instant and as many people showing water electrolysis he has no real idea of how it works. For exemple he is not producing hydrogen but toxic gazes and his efficiency is critical.
