This view from Top of Etna I have always been longing for. Many thanks for showing it. The background music perfectly well celebrated this grand landscape.
At last I get an idea of what it really looks like , In photos you just see what looks one massive mountain but in reality it is a multitude of cones and depression in between, rather like our Table Mountain which isn’t at all a flat surface when you reach the top . Thank you so much for sharing your journey 🙏👍🥰
Some days ago someone said to enjoy the vacation away from pollution of volcanos but I just knew it ...that Etna is in Sicily and has been erupting... and there it is! You just couldn't keep away from it. Am loving the footage btw and the music. Great work yet again! Missed your videos from Iceland.
Breath taking views with cinder cones all over the place. It looks like lush vegetation grows on the cinder cones at lower altitudes but not on the lava flows.
When I began goal tending about 4 years ago, I got very excited when I read that Sicily had the only NHL size ice rink in Italy. I began dreaming of playing on an adult rec league there. Then I read that they closed it in late 2019 or early 2020 because of concerns from an inspection of Mt Etna. I’d still like to go visit Sicily but I’ll be sad to leave my gear and leg pads at home. I hope they open another ice rink in another area of the island later. The other 2 ice rinks listed for Italy are very small (half ice) and don’t sound like you’d be able to play adult hockey.
Etna wasn't my goal:) Just wanted to go to a warm place to relax:) But of course, I heard of it for yrs like everyone and certainly wanted to visit among other things:)
It is a much larger area than I thought....hmm I wouldn't feel very safe staying in the hotel up there!! Beautiful video of it all Roman, thank you so much! 😀🌋👍
I am a subscriber, and since you are my favorite source of news about the volcanic eruption in Iceland, I would like to make a suggestion. We have been seeing beautifully filmed sequences of lava from many different creators. You are one of the few who try, to a degree, to put these into context. For people unfamiliar with Iceland, which I probably most of us (I live in Southern California) it's sometimes hard to get the bigger picture. I would like to see a video that explains the formation and evolution of the volcano from start to the present. I would like to see a sort of time lapse of satellite images showing us where it started and then progressed. It seems as if you are on vacation in Italy right now, but if you make any future Iceland volcano videos, I would recommend you show us a satellite photo of the location where you are filming and the direction you are filming in, so that we can orient ourselves. For someone who has hiked up to the spot of filming, saying "I'm filming from the South." is enough, but for the rest of us, it's hard to keep everything straight in our heads. I love your videos and I am so glad I found your channel.
Go to the north east side and go up to the observatory and then you might be able to walk, going to the right, up to the summit. I did it in2002. Greetings from York, England and football ⚽ s coming home 🏠🏠🏠 i
i used to live on mt etna before the most recent eruptions.. my house is gone ..cest la vie..yall have fun.. you can see my house from where you are ..or where it was ahahaha
It was a flank eruption, so a fissure opens and many vents along it make lava fountains, building those series of cones. Not far from what usually happens in Iceland.
Good for you have opportunity to see Sicily, from extreme cold to extreme hot and yes similar locations, me I'm Italian but I'm leaving in Canada, province of Quebec cold part this summer, mean time west Canada is freaking hot, enjoy tour vacations 😀
I remember when we were there at this restaurant. But I find your volcano much more interesting. Somebody wrote Etna was spewing lava in the past few days. Can't see anything of that!🤔
Silvestri Biggus and Silvestri Diddus. Not far from from Biggus is the 2001 crater where a large flow came within metres of destroying the Rifugio Sapienza whilst destroying part of the Funivia. It really was quite surreal as this huge river crawled downslope at such a tame pace taking the pylons one after another along with the ticket office also succumbing to the lava, it felt as though it was all in slow motion.
Was that a caldera in the beginning? Etna started off as a shield volcano, then turned into a pyroclastic one, then it blew it's head off and has 2 calderas. Can you imagine the insurance on that bar/restaurant combo? They must make a great amount of money each month.
@@annetteenzoulis4870 Well yes, they are on the side of Etna but the peak of Etna is what I wanted to know was the high peak near them. It did erupt very recently.
@@myfavs253 ok. I heard that too. When I was there years ago with pupils I thought we would go up there but probably didn't because there had been eruptions too which we could see from Catania I remember. I think you would have to use that cable car to get further up.
Wow when you see the panorama to the sea you see many, many volcanoes! I think it's because this is one 1 pace where the African plate is subducting under the Eurasian plate. You said this volcano and I presume the surrounding area was only about 100 yrs old and also almost no vegetation. . . . Roman how it the temperatures there? are you and Nina finding it too hot? 🥵
Etna is currently having periodic paroxysms (lava fountaining episodes), consisting in huge lava fountains (up to 1 km high) lasting 2-3 hours, then everything goes quiet. Every 2 or 3 days, I personally expected another one in these hours but she’s having the longest pause since May 19th
ps since you are there buy a drone and some dead hair cats the microphone wind covers or a good rode microphone for the cell phone or GoPro hero 8. this wind is way too bad
I think we all knew that you couldn't keep away from volcanoes !!
Just nice to be able to visit erupting Volcanoes in a warmer climate! Lol
This view from Top of Etna I have always been longing for. Many thanks for showing it.

Loved the music in this!
Wow that's a lot of old volcanic cones! What an amazing landscape.
Amazing video. Thank you for taking us to Italy.
I love your videos ❤️❤️❤️ Etna volcano and the landscape are very amazing . Great video. Have fun in Sicily 🌋👍🏼⛱️😘😘

Hi LittleSusie. It’s been a while! Are you ok? Looks like I can’t write on vedetta anymore. Do you know why?
Very interesting. Thank you, Roman.
OH thank you so much for going there!! I have been so wanting to see this! I knew you couldn't stay away from volcano even on vacation!

Cool. Need a guy like you daily reporting on the eruption there. Thanks for sharing.
You always forget, how huge Mt. Etna is!
Finally a new volcano! A big hug from Tuscany (come also here!)
some of the views must make you feel a home.

Very nice views! Not so much hard rocks & warmer weather. Stay safe!
Breath taking views with cinder cones all over the place. It looks like lush vegetation grows on the cinder cones at lower altitudes but not on the lava flows.
Those flows are very recent, 1983 and 2001. The cones are much older, at least 200 years old.
Thank you so much!!! This is soooo exciting!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing, beautiful, breathtaking; like you said "paradise"❤🙏🙏🙏
Have a rest in your vacation ! ⛱️

Very nice video. Thank You for sharing. Surrounding views and old craters are amazing. Mt Vesuvius is also very beautiful. Stay safe. 🙏
Hi Roman! Great video as ever. This is what we call in English a “busman’s holiday”! Do you have a list of other famous volcanoes to visit?
Perhaps he has some of them on his bucket list to visit on next year's vacation,! Lol
Etna wasn't my goal:) Just wanted to go to a warm place to relax:) But of course, I heard of it for yrs like everyone and certainly wanted to visit among other things:)
Marvellous video Roman, I was just wondering has anyone recognised you whilst you have been out there?
The GutnTog's Rock !!!! Thnx !!!
Please dear Roman after Iceland, take some time to test the Cannolis : it is something you never forget…. Like the Etna!
Thanks for the clips, and your work, as Iceland 🇮🇸 the lava come on depth earth, the lava it’s more compact …🌋
It is a much larger area than I thought....hmm I wouldn't feel very safe staying in the hotel up there!! Beautiful video of it all Roman, thank you so much! 😀🌋👍
You're right: the area is huge and You're safe at the hotel and in most of the surroundings of the volcano, far from the active site!
2 days ago Etna gave a big show. Probably wil go again tonight

Is this the start of Around the World in 80 Volcanoes?
😀
welcome in Italy
Family: let's go on vacation
GutnTog---> goes from one erupting island to another
Next stop: Sakurajima or Taal
There are certainly plenty of others to choose from that are erupting right now
I’m also watching live streams of Tall Volcano
🤣🤣🤣
Lots of volcano cones. Is that all Mount Etna? I'm surprised by how many homes are built around those cones. Beautiful view!
I was wondering when you’d make it to Etna! Wonderful, but windy view! Thank you! Next up? Stromboli? Vulcano? Vesuvius?
Nice Geological location.
i used to live on mt etna before the most recent eruptions.. my house is gone ..cest la vie..yall have fun.. you can see my house from where you are ..or where it was ahahaha

Was there once erupted like a 'series', many smaller craters in a line? Beautiful scenes!
It was a flank eruption, so a fissure opens and many vents along it make lava fountains, building those series of cones. Not far from what usually happens in Iceland.

I climbed to the top many years ago in winter on ski's. Snow normally starts around 2500 meters, near were you filmed this.
So you Are finally there!
I remember when we were there at this restaurant. But I find your volcano much more interesting. Somebody wrote Etna was spewing lava in the past few days. Can't see anything of that!🤔
Etna’s making summit eruptions, lava remains confined to the high areas. He’s not close to the summit.
@@andrewshore742 Thank you. That's why I didn't go up there either. I think it was closed off because of recent eruptions then.
Wow
I suppose this lava is safe to walk on being that it has cooled down for 121 years.
It seems like you've got a taste for volcanoes...
I wonder what it costs to insure a restaurant or hotel built on the side of an active volcano?!
Gargantua. Plus, I bet you don’t see people in shorts and t-shirts on any of the Icelandic peaks………BRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Silvestri Biggus and Silvestri Diddus. Not far from from Biggus is the 2001 crater where a large flow came within metres of destroying the Rifugio Sapienza whilst destroying part of the Funivia. When do you return to Iceland ? And does Gutntog have a Facebook page?
Roman...you are in great need of a DRONE 😘
Maybe he already got one but it's not suitable to operate under windy condition.
wow you're back in Iceland lol
you are missing the new opening in the side of the volcano. get back asap and get us videos.

It’s just a crater
Wow, so high without handrails! Was that Mt. Etna in the background? If so, it erupted on July 8-9. Did you get to see it?
