First time ever watching this game. Serbians have really up their playing ability over the years, but this American team was STACKED with talent. Commenting at 22 minute mark. And not only was the team stacked with talent, but just look at the coaches on the bench and their coaching pedigree, only the best of the best.

@@naygoncalves76 Pal try watch the game and not judge a team by just the results, you are missing out a lot in game. True the Serbia team is dominated by the other side in this game and them not being able to handle the physicality led to poor finishes, but it's easy to see that they performed some pretty good tactics throughout the game to create space for each other.

@@frank-ko6de Considering the fact that Serbia barely passed the group stage in 2014, the final itself was a huge success, literally no one expected for Serbia to reach the final. In the end 90% Serbs didn't care about the fact whether Serbia would win or lose the final, because we knew that USA is way too strong and powerful team.

Kyrie and James are teammates now after all those years. You could see how well they work together in this game and on this team. They were both starters svd James was the closest to an mvp besides Kyrie. People saying they won't work I don't think they realize that they have thrived together before, though under different circumstances

@@simomoreit did when they were healthy. They posted a record of like 14-2 that first season without KD. . James hamstring injury late in that first year changed him as a player. He could no longer do the things he used to do that made him a great compliment to Kyrie. It's been well documented how Harden athleticism declined after his hamstring injury. He wasn't the same the second year. They were great the first year together when healthy.
@@rocketeditorthey did work . The first season they posted a 14-2 record without KD. Hardens hamstring injury changed him. Pre hamstring version of Harden , which the comments I posted alluded to, and Kyrie work.
I've been watching those FIBA suggestion games with Team USA the games they lose (Greece game, Yugoslavia...) and the difference here is two things: defense (they actually played to their potential defensively) and the rise of the 3pt shot in the NBA translating into the int'l game.
When team usa lost they took that to there heart that's why they wanted to dominate and they lost again all the nba player for usa want to play in the Olympics again I see them dominating again.
Any team with Kyrie, Harden, and Steph wins period it's not too difficult to understand lool

In the beginning Serbia was dominating USA but then they lose it in the middle of the game
As long as they kept playing 'their' style of basketball, they were in the game.
But they first lost their confidence when
- a lot of 'easy' layups missed and
- the US started to fire (and hit!) a lot of wild 3pts (none of them created by some play).
I still think they could have kept the game closer if they wouldn't have tried to copy US basketball (going for 1on1 situations and no off ball movement) but stick to the team basketball that worked for the first minutes.
You can't win by imitating the style of your opponent - he chose it because he is better at it than you. ;-)

And THAT's the reason why a defeat is considered an disgrace - not so much the population count.
(nobody considers the defeat of an indian or chinese team as disgrace ;-) ).
It would be very interesting to see an US all star team vs. an european (or even world) all star team. :-D

Serbia reached the final as a complete underdog: NO ONE expected for Serbia to reach the final in 2014. So in the end no one cared about the final result, the final itself was a huge huge success.
