The video makes this the BEST OP opening. Luffy, after everything he's been through, just staring at the straw hat but not putting it on. Then every one of his crew training to become stronger for his sake. Flashbacks of Luffy, Ace, and Sabo as kids, with just about THE most realistic little kid behavior ever. Then a rundown of the Strawhat crew with every single one of their most intimate moments with Luffy. The spirit of Portgas D. Ace pushes Luffy forward, he puts the old straw hat back on his head, smiles, and we know that despite everything he's just been through... Straw Hat Luffy is BACK. Then one more rundown of his crew and lastly a reunion shot right at the final "Never forget that we fight together." Perfect.

As a true One Piece fan through and through this song makes me cry with happiness.
I have let the series go on without me long enough, I am going to pick back up just after the 2-year timeskip where I left off so it could build up.
I am sure to be amazed into silence and sheer joy.
I have waited and I know I will never be let down by One Piece and Oda's brilliance.
I wasn't paying attention, and out of nowhere I thought I gained the ability to understand Japanese, cause I understood the lyrics.

This opening always makes me want to cry. This is truely one of the best anime openings I've ever seen. And the song just fits so perfectly.
After 10 years i read that this is fandub and i dont care i even wrote that all down as a kid and memorized it for life. In hard timew it gives me power to move on and grow thanks a lot to the ones that made this. I love you and i thank you with all my heart
I remember when I first saw this opening and head this version. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years I was 15 at the time, I’m about to turn 25 and love this anime more than ever.

I have to say this is the single most heart-warming Opening One Piece has ever had just going back and seeing the moments when the Strawhats were recruited and the moments Luffy showed them he would nvr give up on them wow....
I love how most of the clips showing the arcs pertaining to specific crew members, are of Luffy yelling at them! HAHA. It makes me so happy!

Still the best english Dub. LOVE it so much.
Some people don't like one piece because they say its dumb or stupid etc. but its actually really fun and emotional to watch and the story draws you in and gets you hooked on it not to mention the creativity put into this! So for everyone who hates one piece but never seen any of the episodes except one or two of them....shut up and have a nice day

IMROFLO have you read chapter 731 yet? you don't see the person luffy talks to, but luffy get's that epic reaction face going on and he starts balling in the next scene when he's with zoro and kineimon. luffy says that he thought that he died a long time ago and it shows an image of the sake bottle and the three cups. it also shows koala as a revolutionary talking to someone on a den den mushi asking if he got to talk to him. he says he thought he would punch him and she asks the other person if he was crying and that there was nothing he could have done if he was there. he puts on luffy's desguise and says the mera mera no mi will be his. sounds like sabo to me. some people were guessing it might have been bon-chan, though that wouldn't explain the image of the sake cups...

IMROFLO getting a molten fist shoved into your back, through your body, and out of your chest making a huge hole in your torso and obliterating all of your internal organs sounds pretty final to me. as much as i love ace, it's not him. T.T

The only voice I have problems with in One Piece dubbed is Luffy's it just doesn't match him whatsoever. I believe they should of pulled a Goku dub and said "fuck it lets give him a male voice actor" because out of the 3 dub female voices I have seen for Luffy none of them have compared to his Japanese dubbed voice.
I swear to god all of you who say that have NEVER actually listened to the Japanese. Oda HIMSELF picked the English dub because she was almost SPOT ON to the Japanese Luffy, he said it himself.

My point is even if Luffy's voice actor was chosen by Oda himself it doesn't make it good.
Luffy's dubbed voice is ok when Luffy is just using general chitchat but when he goes serious it sounds cheesy and his voice breaks when he is screaming.
(I Wouldn't care if it was)Btw Luffy's Japanese voice is not the same as his English dub voice.

vide0viwer I never claimed it was the same. I said it was similar/spot on, which is why it was chose. I seriously am thinking you've never actually seem the Japanese.
no surprise seeing as most 'fans' these days who say this never actually have.
His English voice is different, sort of more raspy, and the acting isn't as good as Tanaka's. Still one of Luffy's better dub voices, though. Some of the others are beyond terrible.
Great job on the voice singer! I love this anime, and listen to it's opening all the time. I hear a lot of English people who sing it, but they really don't sound good. But, you guys made it sound amazing! Keep up the good work!

However, according to Vinsmoke Reiju, the fish Luffy ate had a poison that was incredibly unique, and that's why Luffy nearly died from it.

Actually, MidiGuyFDdp21 is also a professional singer for Wii dancing games, which is why this sounds so good. But, it's still so cool that he does stuff like this for us anime fans.

And that is your opinion.Before I started watching Bleach,I asked on many forums what people think about it.Some people gave me the same answer as you,but the majority said it's good so I started watching and I liked it.That's it.

I also prefer version in japanese but you can't deny that it's still awesome, just imagine it isn't opening - it has amazing lyrics.
This is a new experience for me and I kinda liked it(at least a thousand times better than 4kids)but I guess I'm just used to the Japanese one
This is the saddest opening i have ever seen. It really reflects on what Luffy has achieved and lost on his journey. His journey contains happiness, sadness and friendship, but the biggest loss was when Ace died, but also shows that his crew and other friends are the only ones he respects and most importantly; cares. One Piece is.....no THE best series i have ever seen. No series has ever made me cry to a dying fictional character who I considered as a family than One Piece.
The singing is good but the music isn't very good. The original music was better.

i just watched the series from 4(starting a third of the way in just to show luffy's backstory with shanks), then to 493[starting a third of the way in, so it wont spoil one the biggest plot twists ever in an anime),through 504, then i watched it all the way through. All i can say is that was a magical experience.

Every time i see this video I cry because everything in there is just sad ace dead, flasback of luffy with ace and sabo who were true brothers but are now dead, the strawhats trying to get stronger for luffy, and when luffy got everyone to join his crew, this is the only anime that is the funniest thing you ever saw and the most emotional show you'll ever see
I just realized that when the hat is sitting on the rock, you can still see the scars from when buggy the clown cut it up. I think that's a pretty nice touch.
i don't know why i keep listening to this song over and over, but I really like the song and one piece :) gonna keep watchin one piece to the end :) lol
A friend of mine who makes t-shirts made me a black shirt with nothing but the strawhats jolly roger emblazoned on it and I wore it for the first time yesterday. One guy got the reference and that just made my day.

This is seriously touching it this isn't just the break between 2 years it tells a story about a man who undiscriminately accepts the people around him and despite being their leader would place their lives before his..ONEPIECE forever

This has inspired me deeply for my One Piece fanfic...I think I'll have my OC sing this to the crew just before he disappears from his power losing grasp on his physical body.

One piece will always be unique, for the world that the strawhats travel, were they always visit new places. They always get stronger and always have comedy to make you relax in a situation were it look like they might lose, even for this far in the story line. One piece will always be a unique manga/anime, and for those who dont like, well give it another shot or leave it alone. One piece will always be number one on my list no matter what.
I'm under the impression that the treasure One Piece is really the memories and bond you create with your crew like Luffy did instead of a physical thing.
Man I'm still 200+ episodes behind. I liked one piece as a kid and one day about two years ago I was buying some manga and saw one piece then I read through the beginning of the sanji arc and started watching. I just now finished thriller bark
I have 3 comments to this:
1. I love the dub that was done
2. The part went Ace pushes Luffy near his hat, it is the most lovely thing ever
3. In these thing that show all of Luffy's nakama, they always forget the Going Merry which is really sad!
what i like about One piece is, that there arent many romantic relatinships like in Naruto and Fairy tail, where everybody falls in love with someone
And Hancocks crush into Ruffy seems more like a running gag
When I first saw one piece, I just watched it out of boredom, but I got into it, Luffy and the rest of his crew are unique. Luffy himself, isnt one of these characters who gets less funny and needs some demon to power himself up. He stays funny and dumb, while still having the willpower to fight back against his enemies. Like I said, One Piece will always be #1!
I've had to have watched this at least 1,000 times now, but I never noticed that Franky's flexing syncs with the music at the beginning.

Reminds me of the moral of One Piece. It's not just about following your dream, it's also about having no regrets about your past, no matter how horrible it was, it made you who you are. And if you have a dream you want to come true, the past made you a better person.

Usually I'm not for English conversions of Japanese songs, but this was well done o_o.
This opening always makes me feel a bit sad, especially when I see Sabo and Ace.

Its funny how One Piece openings' lyrics have a real meaning and they can be mirrored to real life! Many many times do I see myself in the lyrics!

That 453 people are mostly those looking for the actual opening. Little did they know that if they stayed a bit and listened, they would realize how incredible this fandub really is.
It was for a long time. It's actually getting much better now.
I think what I like most about One Piece is how Luffy got his crew. At first glance he looks real goofy and undependable but yet he earned the complete respect and loyalty of every crew member.

i got my little bro into one piece and the second he saw Sabo he said "he would be the best freaking pirate" then i asked why and he said "well he is missing a tooth and he has a top hat it does not get better than that." and i replied with true that. i really wish Sabo was alive
Sabo is obviously not dead. Oda is a brilliant writer. He knows what he is doing. He wouldn't introduce a character for several chapters and just kill him off just like that. It would be pointless. There is even a scene where Ivan asks Dragon where he has been and who is that, but you couldnt see who it was. You guys who say Sabo is dead are stubborn and don't know the true essence of storytelling. SABO IS NOT DEAD!
Oda was recently questioned about that and when he was asked if sabo was alive he said " i will let the fans figure that out" and that means there is a good chance he could be alive it all depends on what Oda wants to do with the story.
This is my favorite one piece opening because it was what got me into the series. So awesome, had I not seen this opening, I would've never watched one piece.

i used to be like that but i never made it past ep 20. when i decided to give it a shot and "suffer" up till the arlong arc, after that it just gets awesome, amazingly indescribably awesome. in fact it is now my fav.

I believe that too, However the data book for One Piece came out and listed him as dead. But there are plenty of hints that tell us that Sabo is still alive. We can hope for the best. :)
In regards to the saki placed at aces grave, I think that was just Oda saying his goodbye to ace. If anyone should be mad about ace dieing it's him. The man probable didn't want him to die but understood that luffy needed a push to get stronger.
