Many thanks Uncle, these videos have been a massive help honestly. Passed in Bromley first time with 1 fault which was Forward bay parking which was me just being lazy and not focusing on reference points. Thank you for all the videos!

Good vedio. I failed this roundabout last time. Same mistake. Can you please cover all big roundabouts in driving routs including this one and tesco roundabout as well please 🙏

33:15 At the roundabout where she incurs the serious fault you say she has been encountering big roundabouts where a left lane approach is permitted (two right turn lanes). These big roundabouts have a series of multiple lane lane markings starting a few hundred yards short of the give way line. On this roundabout due to road size and layout the two lanes are marked just once by the give way line. I think this forces the candidate to have to think about a lot more issues at one time.

That’s correct and unfortunately that is a major issue with UK road markings which I’ve pointed out in some of my other videos. In such last minute situations, driver should follow the direction marked on the lane which in this case left or straight ahead would have avoided a fault instead of going against the floor marking. .

One of the problems at roundabouts is uncertainty of which lane is appropriate until one sees the arrows and knows geographically where we need to be heading. Under these conditions most drivers have a left hand lane bias. This is understandable as nothing has been confirmed, however when I get lost in a new city approaching a roundabout the right hand lane is a banker as if you need first exit you simply circulate about the complete island before exiting. It does not work for mini-roundabouts and defaulting to incorrect geographical route is then needed in those situations.

One hint my instructor gave me was that if you're not sure, you can err on the right lane. The reason is that you can go around the roundabout; even if turning left, you can do a 270° turn to the right. So long as you are legal and safe, the examiner can't mark you down for being unconventional.
