His sentiment about learning guitar being akin to learning photography is so superbly accurate.
Truth. Wise words.
Great interview and images. Pursuing a photo project with no guarantee it will be accepted by someone else, let alone someone you admire, is a mark of character. Glad to learn of this photographer, and glad to hear him retell his creative journey.
Happy to hear that. We all can learn something from everybody who has walked the creative path. I know I did listening to Adam. Glad you enjoyed!
I see a Bryan Birks video uploaded, I press play
He 👏🏻 doesn’t 👏🏻 miss
You’re so lucky to have had this experience with Robert Adams. I wish you much luck in the future in your photographic endeavors
Best series on RUclips returns. Thank god.
You’re on the wrong page. You’re looking for “Walkie Talkie.”
Arghh... what interesting points and observations. I have stayed fairly ignorant of famous photographers for fear of being 'contaminated' and my work becoming a copy (or myself trying to copy). However to excel you need to see good work! We are the sum of all our experiences so its unavoidable I guess. And then I love the metaphor about learning guitar... a lot of richness here for just 13mins!
I think the important thing is taking inspiration from actual working photographers and not being railroaded with images from people who only excel on social media. Unless of course you want to be an influencer of sorts.
Very interesting story about angels point very informative. And the Photos are excellent and the story is amazing.
Thanks for watching, sir.
I really connected with this - thanks
Happy to hear that, John!
Really enjoy this. Thank you for sharing and discussing with Adam
Thanks for watching!
Well, that was a treat. My words can't do justice to Adam's receiving a letter and feedback from Robert Adams, just incredible and testimony to the quality of work in Angels Point. Great stuff, and a really enjoyable watch - thanks Bryan! - plus a sublime soundtrack to boot. I see I somehow entirely missed the Bryan Birks Patreon - now keenly signed up!
Robert Adams is a treasure. The story is even better in the full interview. Really happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support.
Thank you for putting out content like this it truly is inspiring to watch
Thanks for watching as always. I need comments like this to keep it going. Sometimes it’s like I’m throwing stuff into the ether.
Thanks for continuing this Analog Artisans series. These are so good.

and he is back!
The first of many!
Awesome project. And being able to connect with another artist with level of insight is such a great opportunity.
Could not agree more. Probably the biggest benefit of having a RUclips channel. Ya know, besides the massive ad revenue that I bring in (sarcasm).
A visual delight and thought provoking interview, as always.
Appreciate you!
Excellent video Bryan, thank you for this.
