I believe the Greenwich council had this estate built in 1963 and commisioned a firm of renown architects Chmaberlain, Powell & Bon to build it. It was and still is considered modern, and functional. It is one of those well loved residences that are well maintained and desirable. A mixture of flats, and houses in a modern setting. With the increase in demand for cheap properties in great locations, these have become quite sought after, but many have become private residences.
Spotted an old pirate radio dipole on this back in 1999 but no signal was transmitting. Back then there was no black gate at the entrance so you could just walk straight in (like many blocks around SE london)
Whoever designed and built these tower blocks has brilliant designed it that many tower blocks have been built. And yeah those lifts have been modernised but they still are reliable.

Interresting staircase, the lift shaft has been clad with badroom tiles. That looks so… german. In germany this was popular in the 70’s.

@@SamSitar The stairs and the landings are a cantilevering structure, it's all in the concrete reinforcement.
