This is one of the earlies movies I have memory of watching. I must've been around 3-4 at the time. It came on some random afternoon on TV and I never knew it's name, but the scene where Liu kang finishes the dude with a barge of kicks without putting a foot down and Reptile breaking into fucking cockroaches has been imprinted in my mind since 20 fucking years. It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen at that age. And today I found it. It is a relief beyond compare. Shout out to 1998.

I never understood how after Liu throws the reptile creature into the statue, the statue forcefully absorbs Reptile then turns into the ninja form. It's more like the statue fought with Reptile's power, than Reptile itself.
That voice that says Reptile is from Mortal Kombat 2. Liu Kang also does his jumping bicycle kicks that he didn't do until Mortal Kombat 2. Kitana is also in this movie, so is Jax and Shang Tsung isn't old and doesn't have the grey hair and the beard like he did in the first game, he looked like the young one from MK 2. There's a lot of references to the second game despite being based on the first one for some reason.
This was always my fav fight scene. Where was Johnny? Man liu kang really got his ass whipped, had that been real life liu woulda been out in the first minute n a half. I love how the random voice says "reptile" out of nowhere

They are making a movie. The same director that made Mortal Kombat legacy season 1 is also doing the movie. Also there is a trailer for Season 2 out. And i couldnt believe who was on the side of evil. It looks awesome tho. you need to check it out.

Was an idea being thrown around that the statue was an Edenian warrior. After King Jerrod of Edenia's warriors lost 10 tournaments in a row to those of Outworld's warriors, it gave Shao Kahn the power to invade Edenia. (As granted by the Elder Gods.) Edenians were pretty much enslaved and made to live in Outworld where they were victim to Kahn's torture. That once reptile was thrown into one of the bodies, the body absorbed his life force and assumed the traits of the host.
