I like that it’s a call back to Ben's warning to Dag in the beginning of the film, showing Otis has come full circle and accepted his role as protector.
I think what makes the climax so strong is the surprisingly good delivery of the more serious lines, like "Put the chick down, Dag" and "Never. Come. Back" and its use of reuse of comedic elements, like Wild Mike, the donkey kicks that can knock people unconscious, Otis's party friends showing up in the Beadys' stolen car, and most importantly the reprise of "I Won't Back Down," representing how Otis is living up to Ben's legacy and how he's finishing what his dad couldn't: taking down Dag for good.
Also, he manages to outdo his father in another way: Ben fought Dag alone, but Otis had his companions by his side to help him through the ordeal. Dag was certainly right about one thing: had Otis been there for Ben, things would have been different. Too bad he didn’t expect that point to come back and bite him.
2:26 The thing that scares me is that the coyotes could've killed Otis if they really wanted to and then they would eat all his friends, but the thing that makes me happy is that Dag decided to let Otis live instead.
For a kids more the quote "a strong man stands up for himself a strong man stands up for others" is very deep and impacted me from a young age as I often found myself standing up for others
Okay, where to begin with this magnificent scene? 1) I'm 34 years old, and I was pretty much raised on Nickelodeon as a kid, including all of its Golden Age of the mid- late 90's. So, when I say that I think Dag is quite possibly THE best villain ever featured in any Nickelodeon production (With the possible exception of Helga from 'Hey Arnold,' but she's more of an antihero than a villain), that's saying something. I seriously can't believe that's David Koechner, an actor primarily known for doing goofy comedic roles, doing the voice of such a genuinely menacing character. 2) "Put the chick down, Dag." I get goosebumps every time! 3) The reprise of 'I Won't Back Down' playing at the start of the battle is a master stroke! It symbolizes how Otis is channeling Ben's courage to help him fight, truly becoming his father's son. 4) Seeing Otis's buddies join in never fails to make me grin ear to ear. 5) When I first saw this in theaters with a friend, I remember both of us cheering when Miles sicced Wild Mike on one of the coyotes! 6) Peck finally managing to crow was pretty epic, too. Such a great climax, easily the highlight of the movie!

I love how this scene shows Otis standing up for others instead of himself. The first time he met dag if I remember correctly it's because he wanted revenge for Ben and it showed him on all fours. And I love in this scene he stands up on 2 legs as he finally is finding his way on what it takes to be a leader.
Dag was a much better Barnyard villain. Nora Beady is the main antagonist of the TV Show and she doesn't come close to Dag.
+Sean McIntosh Nora Beady is still one of the most determined antagonists. She stops at nothing to make sure that the animals are exposed as walking and talking.
I agree
TBH the whole Back at the Barnyard show was kinda an insult to this movie
I thought it was Deg
Invadar FNW If they made it completely like the movie, there would be a lot of tragedy in it.
+Invadar FNW Exactly
"Remember me? I'm Ben's kid."
I thought for a second he would say "I'm Batcow". Would've made it the best movie ever.
WHERE ARE THE CHICKENS? WHERE ARE THEY!
I swear to god I don't know
Bat cow was realy cool that came later in the series
He’s comes in the series
Dang so Dag killed Otis’ dad?
He should’ve hooked them right then and there
In all seriousness, Wild Mike helped my overcome most of my fears as a child, I was never afraid of him, but he left an impression on me...
We watched this in Spanish class and had homework on it
Just CJ your lucky you get to watch it at school
Lmao that’s hilarious
You lucky bastared
Dude your lucky, all we did in my school was watch live action movies they were ok but this one I wished we watched

This movie is a lot darker than I remember as a kid
Same lol
Male cows . R they transgenders ?
Like seriously trying to eat a child alive like wth?
I would get so pumped as a kid when this scene came
I just love how relaxed Miles is. He's acting as if kicking coyotes is no big deal for him. His calm "what ever will I do?" makes it even funnier.
5:52 WILD MIKE I CHOOSE YOU!!!
5:59 Wild Mike used close combat!
6:08 It's super effective!!

*_Umm... I cannot stop thinking about the bottom of his part._*
What did you do to us, Nickelodeon? :l
*_If y'all excuse me, I gotta go put some soap in my eyes._*
What bottom part?
Do you mean utters? Because, that’s normal.....
ĆrówGútś not on male cows it ain’t.
@@TheEvilcookie0 Well when kids draw a female and male cow I think they just assume they both have utters. It's not like they would really notice anyways.
dag is a badass villan
He sounds like Todd from "The Office."
@@mitchellhodack657 Dag is also way better than Mrs Beady.
Sry but he eats shit
4:45

A strong man up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others
- Otis Barnyard 2006
This meme of a movie was ahead of its time.
This movie and chicken run were my life
CHICKEN RUN!! That was the best kids movie. CHICKENS ARE NOT ORGANIZED!!!
Barnyard And Chicken Run Are My Favourite Movies Too
Back when animation movies had soul in them.😁
xXThomas13Xx chicken run = childhood rainy days
Chicken run was creepy especially as a kid

Maybe a couple of the horses, too. I bet they could throw down pretty well.
Jesus christ I'm trying to imagine this
I love how they release wild mike and we never see him again; presumably lost to the wilderness and left to party with unsuspecting victims
5:46 talk about an "ass" kicking get it
😂😂😂
Whrn Ben started singing, I FELT that in my soul!
*surrounded by coyotes* "well well what ever would I do..."
This movie had everything a great story great songs hilarious moments a great fight scene and the badass line a strong man stand up for himself but a stronger man stands up for others and this movie got a bunch of rewards as well
If they just noticed that male cows don't have udders.
His friends coming and helping him has always been my favorite part and the singing, what a movie to watch as a kid
Numbers overcome courage.
His father wanted him to prove that he was the boss by fighting them alone but the real boss is the one who is smart enough to know how much he needs his friends in such a situation
Danny Glover was a good choice for the role of Miles. Surprised I still remember the character's name after not seeing this for 6 years.
David Koechner did an amazing job as Dag too.
I haven't seen this movie since I was 3 I'm 11 now
Matt Hirsh Danny Glover was also Mike Harrigan from predator 2
JURASSIC x SLASH THE TYRANNOSAURUS REX KING I remember him best as being Sergeant Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon movies.
