This is an extended version of the theme of the movie « Terminator » (1984) composed by Brad Fiedel. This is the original music, extended by myself from the original soundtrack (Remaster 2016). This is a new edit from my previous version I did (in 2019). I think I abused a bit too much of the sharpness on that edit. At the time I had another sound device and I thought it was good and better that way. Today I changed my mind and therefore I did this new edit, with the original sound almost untouched this time (the extended edit remains almost the same).

That opening synth emanates Terminator way more than the “da da dun, dun dun” ever did. Wish all the teasers for the sequels would use that machine like synth instead.

The one from judgement day fits more with the entire story while the original fits more with the T-800
Terminator 1 and 2 were what set the gold standard of what a movie should be, at least when it comes to the action genre. the first one was an action suspense with just slight bit of romance with music that gives you the feeling of wanting to push through to protect everything dear to you no matter the cost, and the second is one that is very similar, but also shows that even the most unfeeling, uncompromising, and cold of beings can have a heart and can change. the show of remorseful understanding and apologizing when he disobeys John Conners ordering of him to not leave, despite him saying his orders were to unquestioningly protect and follow his orders and the line "i know now why you cry, but it's something i can never do" shows that he became, despite his absolute programming that should have never allowed it, somewhat human and brought tears to MANY people, something thats EXTREMELY rare in action movies. the cherry on the cake was the thumbs up he gave at the end showing a final farewell and possibly even a form of thanks and wishing of good luck. i agree that T2 should have ended there as it couldn't have ended in any better way as all movies after that just got less and less enjoyable.
Everyone knew the Terminator series could not end at T2. The problem is the pathetic execution of the rest of the series (started by T3). We all wanted to see the future war that was teased in the first two films. We all wanted to see how it played out. But these money grubbing studios kept wanting to extend the series instead of getting to the point. I mean T3 was just a replacement for T2 with the exception of the bombs dropping at the end. We're at 6 movies now and T6 tells us "it was never about John" and its about some hispanic girl named "Dani". Holy crap its just the story that won't end.
@@JSSTyger well if i'm correct didn't James Cameron also quit the series and thats when it started to really go down hill? he was one of the biggest reasons that it made it so memorable, he's a legend in the movie industry when it comes to movies like that.
@@anime4life209 Jonathan Mostow directed T3 and he said he didn't care for T2...so he deleted it, made a "do over" and added bombs dropping. Of course he screwed up John Connor's timeline as well. Retconning T2 so that T2 took place in 1998 (after Judgment Day). Pretty bad to screw up the time line in a time travel movie. He also made Arnold look silly going to a gay bar, wearing dumb glasses, and saying "talk to the hand." Needless to say, I hate that movie.
@@JSSTyger yup...that right there is a Class-S fuck up. and then they bitch that all the fans are just bigots for hatng it and absolutely refuse to accept that it could have anything to do with their shitty decisions.
@@JSSTyger Yeah, they could've easily continued on from T2 by explaining that Arnie left his T-800 arm that gets stuck in the gears at the factory (they only throw in the arm from Cyberdyne). There's a sequel comic which is this exact plot (don't remember the name) that was better than all the sequels. They could've also continued the future war from Salvation. While it wasn't the greatest sequel in the world, it still tried something new as opposed to having more Terminators sent back. If done well, it would also be cool to see a RoboCop Vs. Terminator film. I recommend checking out the first crossover comic. There's also a second one, but that one sucks 😂 and I don't recommend it.

This theme just gives off that "doomed future" vibe. A future that, according to the films, is only SIX YEARS AWAY... 😅
Yea it's weird for me.
I made it through Judgment Day ( August 29, 1997). I made it through Y2K (January 1, 2000). I lost bits and pieces on 9/11. I made it through the date Marty jumped to in Back to the Future 2 (October 15, 2015) ((I remember thinking how old I'd be when that happened)). And looks like I'll make it through 2029 when the first run of 800s come off the line and one gets sent back to 1984. I'm gonna see if I can't hitch a ride too. There isn't anything left to look forward too.

In 1984.. before most of us were born.. there were movies that told stories with meaningful characters.. woke was not even a thing.. this is one of those movies!!
I was born in 83 and remember some of the 80s. Yes, movies have changed. Too much CGI.

Here in Brazil..when on the date of its release I immediately went to watch it in the cinema..and at the cinema door here there was a call that was already impressive at the time..watching the film in 1984 without words..from beginning to end, pure entertainment and For me, one of the best films I've seen to date and it's been a while lol... everything from the theme song to everything is exceptional!!!

Terminator 1, Even with the bad effects sometimes, Is a far superiror movie to everything that came since T3 and later.
I'd argue that Terminator Salvation with Christian Bale was decent and could've successfully rebooted the franchise from a different angle (future war). RIP Terminator.

Que hermoso recuerdo de mi niñez, verano de 1986 un viaje hacia el sur de mi país con mi familia en un bus interprovincial llamado flecha dorada y yo sentado al lado de un joven de 25 años mas o menos muy amable que no recuerdo su rostro y llega el momento que colocan una pelicula en quellos años eran unos televisores pequeños adosados al techo del bus con vhs para amenizar el viaje ya que era varias horas de viaje y de inmediato al comenzar la pelicula me llamo poderosamente la atención su música al comenzar y siempre recuerdo que este joven me dijo niño pon atención a esta pelicula te va a encantar y así fue ver como aquel hombre corpulento se paro del suelo luego de recibir varios impactos de escopeta me dejo asombrado y como otro valiente hombre luchaba con él para salvar la vida de aquella hermosa mujer.. Que seria el amor de su vida Sin duda esta película marco mi infancia hasta hoy que tengo 46 años y su nombre era Terminator o el Exterminador..... Gracias por esta obra de arte que admiro hasta el día de hoy....

8:32 is my favorite section! The added drums and lowered pitch really helps the end credits stand out a bit from the released extended theme.
I think my favorite part is the beat that drops when Arnolds name shows up in the credits around the 0:45 mark.
