I started with the unit boxes and the starter set. I should have added handlers and burn cards though. For those getting started, pick those up along with the acrylic tokens (because they are great).

I did the same and had to proxy handlers. They add so much depth to the game it is almost a “must” initial buy.

Just wish they had a UK stockist, cos shipping and customs fees are expensive.

I'm just getting into the game and purchased the starter set plus the two handler packs, plus the Wetwork expansion. Looking forward to it arriving so I can get some models painted.

What exactly are the role of 'handlers' within the game?

Great question! They are your top tier operators bringing unique skills and capabilities to round out your force. As they are faction independent, you can choose the one that best fits your playstyle or benefits your force. They are only slightly tougher than your average infantryman, having two wounds instead of one, which means they can't fly around the battlefield with impunity. They can, however, tip things your way if played properly.

Wait so does it have to be 2x2 playing field only or like?

Games can be played on a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4. The creators recommend 2x2 or 3x3 for one group, 3x3 for two groups, and 4x4 for three groups. A Groups is one Force Card consisting of three units and a Handler.
