  • St. Brigid's Cross is a well-known symbol of Ireland, right beside the shamrock and harp. Its history goes all the way back to pagan times but is now associated with St. Brigid of Kildare, a patron saint of Ireland whose feast day is February 1st.
Enjoy a brief history and story about St. Brigid suitable for all ages. Then, follow along while we make two variations of St. Brigid's Cross, which have four arms with a woven square in the center. You'll need pipe cleaners, rushes, or other materials suitable for weaving. Once finished you can place it over a window or door to ward off any evil.
