Hi, nice video and model! This looks like a mix of TA01 and TA02. The honeycomb chassis should be TA01 (which is longer than the TA02 bathtub chassis). In the models you can also see the difference in the orientation of the rear axles. In TA01 they go out angled towards the front (to correct for the lenght) in TA02 they generally go out angled to the back of the model). However the front uprights should be in red on an original TA01, these are blue which indicates TA02.
This sends me down memory lane. Back in the days (1984 or so) there was an Audi Quattro based on a slightly elongated Wild Willy chassis. My cousin had an Audi and I had a Willy back then. Still have it, though it's not what is used to be so it doesn't see much action nowadays. This chassis looks related to the one under my Hummer, although the axles are different. I bought a different tub for it to get a shorter wheel-base. The long tub has the hexagons, the short one doesn't. But careful with these. I once had some sand wedged between the battery and the honeycomb and had serious trouble getting the battery out.
My friend had one of these in the early eighties. It had hard plastic bumpers though so I presume this may be the second generation.Give it a thrash but don't modify it in my opinion. That's RC history right there.
Otro muy buen video esta vez es un Vintage RC, Tamiya TA01 Audi Quattro, coche muy bonito y sencillo en su interior, su body esta muy bien decorado, mis felicitaciones y saludos desde Venezuela.
Run it!.............someone saved it for you to enjoy❤️ it would be an awesome drift body.........haven’t seen one as a drift car......and I’ve seen a few😎
I think you're right it looks like a TA01! I have a TA02 and a spare chassis tub, neither one has the hexagon bracing. Before you run it,tear it down! It probably has plastic bushings and no grease! Tamiya still makes that chassis so you should be able to get bearings for it! Any 1.9 12mm hex wheels should fit it! I used to use HPI tires, but anyone's "sedan" tires should be good. If you're going off road you can find rally block tread tires too!
I had a few of those chassis one came with long arms and was like truck tires on it I can't remember what the body was but you have to be careful with those Transmissions never over tighten the screws and try to get bearings in it because they just break all the time they just stress crack any type of jumping they don't last too long
Just had to dig into the old kit box, I believe the 01 is shorter with the red plastics, mines a s-10 rally truck the 02 is all black with a humvee body that is longer not sure if thats the only difference they look pretty much the same!
🏴🇬🇧 awesome Rc Rally Quattro,my friend great content as usual, used to watch these in WRC in the 80s and 90s in the uk blasting round the forest awesome sounds and memories 🏴🇬🇧great to see the Tamiya👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻stay safe and well my friend Dave in Cornwall 🇬🇧🏴🏴🌊🏄🏻♂️ long wheelbase version that won the WRC championship a few times,Hanns Michola driver🇫🇮
Anyone know where I can get a set of the front 3 piece light sets? I'd love original fir my original body but I'd take 3d printed or reproduction too please let me know thanks
Ciao, splendida Audi.... però più che apportare modifiche al telaio, ne prenderei uno nuovo per poi adattarlo al body. Se ti metti a modificare il vecchio telaio la vettura perde fascino
Oh I love this car dude...the legend of group B!!

Aahh nothing like a tamiya, 80's and 90's tamiya made the best car bodies!! Hell they still make great race car kits!!

Most if me says Rally Block tires... but it's too nice of a survivor, so i'd try it as a drifter
A classic is always a good buy 👍

Man i use to love watching the old rallys and hillclimbs as a kid. Racing seemed so much more raw and real back then.
@@RCeveryday what’s your name my friend 🤓
Cool looking rig! 😎
Such a cool car that deserves to be run 👍
Nice wheels bro 😎 Me, I’m gonna go to a “Collector’s Backyard Rally” with that one.. 🤫
And win 🏁🏁

Supposed to be 2 men seated in the front looks brill with them in.
Only Walter Roerl is able to drive these beast in the real world👍👍

Would be a shame to just put it on a shelf. Are there any places with a carpet track you could take it too and do a little racing?
You know they've released that body on a different chassis I think.
I have shared the video to Tamiya legends FB group. Please feel welcome to join if it is of interest to you.
