Those clusters on leaves are squash bug not vine borers.
Borers lay single eggs usually on the stem that look like a strawberry seed no clusters

The eggs you described are squash bug eggs, NOT squash vine borer. I've lost 7 pumpkin and 1 zucchini so far from squash vine borer. I see the moth and try to kill it. Sometimes successful, most the time not. Are you saying the vine borer lays its egg only on the biggest part of the main vine and thats why you bury or camouflage it?
I thought i saw a single egg on a stem, I picked it off and smashed. Which tells me it can also be laid on the stems, bore into it, and slide down the hollow tube to the main vine....leaving no trace of entrance. I've tried injecting BT, but still lost another plant after that. Suggestions?

First time I’ve heard of Beneficial Nematodes. Do you happen to know whether or not it works on Japanese Beetles too?
Also like your suggestion of using whey or milk. Trying to evaluate which gives me the best bang for the buck.
Do you know of any list of SVB susceptible plants? I know some melons and pumpkins are affected, cucumbers, too?

Happens even with your prevention the only thing I have found that actually works is knowing when they are active daily and monthly the difference between squash bug and vine borrer and take time every day and search the plant carefully and remove the eggs I never let them hatch and you have to search entire plant top bottom of leaves flowers stems and stalks I use a pair of tweezers and four hours a day picking them off the 50 plants I have going

The cluster of eggs are actually squash bug eggs, not vine borers, the vine borer is the red moth that lays a single egg on the stalk close to the soil, usually a single brownish small single egg.

Oh that darn vine borer!! 🤬 I have been picking eggs off my squash plants for weeks. My borer moths are laying eggs on the stems, not the leaves. I’m out there everyday, just a picking and a popping eggs 😩
I think I will try some DE between waterings
    Great video! 💚

I too just started this week the war against the bugs and vine borers. Mine always lay directly on the stem. Today I swear one of my squash was so infested at the very base I couldn't even see any green the 1/2" part of the stem. I made just a panic noise it was cause for concern for my kids that were outside in ear distance. lol The war has begun. May we both come out on top.

As others have said, you describe squash beetle eggs not squash vine borer eggs. Basic knowledge that you should have if you are going to do an informative video and you both messed it up. Does not make you very trustworthy.
