    American white guy passing thru, your channel is incredible. These videos have completely changed my view of Africa; media here ENTIRELY misrepresents the continent. In school, we've learned nothing about modern day Africa. Keep doing what you're doing, much love :)

    • @jimmyp9105
      @jimmyp9105 4 года назад +11

      If you only get infomation by what the media or school says, one would be surprised that Africa has cars. National geographic and history great and all but when if come to other cultures, they hyper focus of one aspect of it. Generally the less developed and more tribal peoples. Even though there's modern aspects of these countries also.

      This is false. The cedi actually deprecated so much during his 8 year tenure from 2001 to 2009. He only did redenomination, ie removing four zeroes from the cedi. So our 10,000 cedis became 1 cedi. It's called redenomination.

      He literally removed the zeroes and said the value is the same. 30,000,000 (3 million) cedis became 3,000 cedis. As long as we admire people, let's be careful about the information we spread. It might be out of good faith, but very misleading to the public too, and that destroys everything.

Extremely proud of that. Currently making plans to move my family to Ghana within the next 2 to 3 years. Love this video, brother! Keep up the amazing work.

    • @rohlankaal9171

      @James Alexander my friend there are many factors contributing to the current situation in Somalia.
      Including, but certainly not exclusive to, a volatile security situation as a continuing consequence of a devastating civil war, corruption, lack of existing (robust) key institutions and infrastructure (or the dismantling of these previously established institutions) to deal with these issues.
      Also, there are powerful foreign nation influences with vast resources & significant vested interests in preserving the status quo (pouring fuel onto the fire).
      These actors benefit so long as Somalia bleeds.
      This is a common problem for many nations across Africa who are also struggling to "get their shit together". Lets be logical not lewd.

      I am a proud African living in the USA and I love it. If you think there is racial injustice in the US, you can leave. I bet you can't survive the inherent evil and bigotry among fellow Africans either. We kill ourselves every day than perpetuated by any other race or system. Those saying leave the US because you don't belong there are the same people who queue up at the Embassy and still get rejected. Nowhere is safe so appreciate where you are and follow the law and you won't have problem with the system. I'm black, I follow the law and for the 11 years I have lived in the US, I have never had any encounter with the police and of course I love my Whites, Indians and Hispanic co-workers.

You can’t hate the land, your motherland, the place that you come from, and we can’t hate Africa without ending up hating ourselves. The Black man in the Western Hemisphere-North America, Central America, South America, and in the Caribbean-is the best example of how one can be made, skillfully, to hate himself that you can find anywhere on this earth.” - Malcom X

    As a Togolese-American and human right activist, watching this bring a lot of tears in my eyes...
    I am devastated that Togo dictatorship regime won't learned from his neighbor Ghana.
    Togolese are still being oppressed for fighting not only for a better life but against a minority "The Gnassingbe family with the military" that took the country hostage for more than 50 years...
    I'm still hoping to see change of power one day in Togo like it is in Ghana.
    Keep make us proud Wode Maya!
