    I lived in Roseland for a couple winters, and a host of other ski towns. The winters at Red were the best of the best. If you like snow there isn't a better place to ski or ride. Nice to see DB ripping it up! Hi from JH 🤙

    What are conditions like the first 2 weeks of March normally? im planning a trip and prefer old school ski towns as opposed to the mega touristy resorts.

    • @jackcb9856
      @jackcb9856 Год назад +1

      In my experience, late February and early March are ideal for snow conditions as that is when the snow is softest and skiable. But realistically it doesn't matter when you go, it is what you make of your trip. Good luck.

    Something off here unless there is another Warren Miller…..Many of the skis in this video were not manufactured before 2020.

    • @MartinTHoffmann
      @MartinTHoffmann Год назад

      It’s the Warren Miller production company (and brand), which he sold. Unfortunately what they produce comes near where close to the wit and style of the original.
      Personally I have grown tired of these repetitive types of documentaries and I miss the original WM-style.

    If I haven’t been standing in line watching pro patrollers & their friends (obviously not wearing patrol jackets & sheepish!) jump in for a few more lines before opening I would respect these guys/gals. Lived experience forces me to give them a 👎. You might think you are doing no harm but people don’t forget.

      I was 15 on my first trip to red mnt in 1982. My earliest ski partner "woody"( Now head guide at Bella Coola helisports) sent me a post card. And it said "get out here ,it's bottomless" He had ran away from home at 16, because his parents were gnarly and super strict. I begged and begged my old man to go. Finally he said yes.and gave me 80 $ for my birthday and Christmas combined. That was enough to get a greyhound ticket out of Canmore. I arrived at 6am at the start of Christmas holidays, and stayed a total of 6 weeks .My old man was chocked and I ended up going to a juvenile home for bad kids when I returned home for truancy. Anyhow we knew there was no photo on record for woodys season's pass. So I went into the ticket office and said" I had lost my seasons pass". And claimed I was my friend " woody." I had memorized his date of birth ect. They gave me a seasons pass with my picture on it and his name below . Replacement pass 10$. I didn't want to go home. That trip was the deepest power I had ever skied up to that point in my life. And it changed me forever. Love Canadian Skiing. And Chamonix too!!

      I went skiing in BC somewhat recently, and felt the same way after every ski day: totally fried and no energy for anything beyond a big dinner and a hot tub.
      With that said, when you visit these cool mountain communities, it's imperative that you hit the bars and turn up with the locals. It's part of the whole experience! I look back on that trip and am so glad I forced myself into at least one night out on the town, which turned into a ragged mosh pit in front of a 90's rock cover band. Covid hit a few weeks later, and I haven't been able to sweat and spill beer on strangers ever since.
