Such a lovely lady.❤ Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Ma'am. You're an inspiration. I'm not sure if I'll be able to publish my story one day but I just like to write it down. As Brandon Sanderson said, "No one's taking away your pen or no one's turning off you computer." Usually I do the dishes and laundry and cleaning and taking care of our 3 dogs. I hope someday I can have the means to get others do them so I can focus on my writing. But no time is wasted. Listening to videos like this, lectures, podcasts, vlogs, as long as it is about writing while doing chores gives me joy and hope.. And I will find time brainstorming my ideas while driving or listening to music once in a while. I will write in my braindump notes whatever quote or idea that pops into my head anytime of the day so I won't forget. And it really amazes me how deep Ive dived, how one single idea expanded in time. It's because I just keep asking and asking questions to my brain.
God Bless all Great Writers and Artists. Without stories, without the arts the world will be a dark canvas and we'd all go crazy, I think...🤣

She is absolutely charming! This conversation felt like only five minutes had passed, and that's with me rewinding parts I missed (while making/having dinner). Am now inspired to resume writing my own novel. Thank you.

So encouraging as I get back to editing my second and third book. I agree with her comments about Libby Hawker's book, Take Off Your Pants. If you struggle with outlines Libby's book is excellent. It's also taken from John Truby's book Anatomy of a Story. Another author of craft books is James Scott Bell. Thank you for hosting this podcast.

I love Kate so much! I had the honor to hear her talk live last year in Span, she's just as charming live as she is over the screen! Maybe even more! Her talk about the hero's misbelief made me think hard about my own stories and helped me a lot! Her energy and mindset is contagious :)

I don’t read romance, totally not for me. I do read fantasy, however.
Fiction books are an escape. If you write romance and 1000 people read your book and they could escape from stress and the pressures of daily life for a few hours, you did good.
Always felt weird to me to see people look down on that.

As a full-time freelance health and wellness writer I was wondering the same thing. I am going to start publishing ebooks for myself and hopefully soon enough I will be able to quit making other people rich and work on that project for me.

This is utter nonsense - saying anyone can be an author is just a silly marketing lie. Please stop this self-serving nonsense
