I remember watching this live having graduate the year before thinking, "Man, I wish I was born a year later." That would have made me a senior for this show. Many of my friends marched this year. They were a very good group, full of talent and leaders, especially the seniors.
Keith Jorgensen not to take anything away from 97 show, but the 96 show imo was just as deserving of a grand national championship. The visual during the final minute of the 96 show would rival a DCI world class finalist.
Jody True We actually finished 1st after Semi finals in 96, it was our best performance that year, we had a lot of members that got sick and it did hinder our finals performance, Lake park was well deserved of the grand national title though, they were stellar from wire to wire that year
@@tjodytrue Thank you. I personally LOVE the HUGE M set near the end that year. Our semi score that year was the highest ever in a BOA competition to that date I believe. We had no clue because we weren't ever performing for scores or placement. We heard that months after. We just wanted to have the best run we could. We nailed that semis run. Then... we all got the flu and it spread like wildfire. I played with a 101 fever in finals. It was an honor all four years to be part of this amazing group.
One of the greatest things I was ever a part of. I can't believe it will be this shows 20th anniversary this fall. To this day I count my blessings I was able to contribute and be a part of it.
This is the best performance ever! I still get a tingle up my spine.

@@tjodytrue However, Lake Park was Amazing ALL year that year. They deserved the title.

WOW! I will never forget this show or the feeling I got performing in it :)
That drill was a bit underwhelming in the finale. What was the drill designer thinking?
