JohnFitzMusic it's not money, it's technology and genetics, you can't change the DNA structure of every single living cell to get rid of the disease, not yet at least. Maybe in the next 100 years
While I understand your feelings, I felt such appreciation and respect for the guy....he made me smile. He's a true fighter and encouraging for all of us, when going through challenging times.
The only sad thing about this video is it should have two billion views. An absolute legend who I grew up watching. Women were in love with him and men wanted to be him. Stay strong for every one effected by Parkinson's.
yea i think he was way worse back in the day u couldnt understand him and he couldnt stop movein i say hes doing some what better then back i think the 90S
he's doing fucking incredible. he was really bad before, and that's fucking huuuuge that he's better now. it's not really common to have your symptoms get better over time
What an awesome cause and what a wonderful and encouraging spokesperson! Love Michael J Fox. God bless him and the work they are conducting to find a cure for this debilitating disease. Stay strong my friend :)
james dean Big difference he started to drinking after his Parkinson's disease in order to cope with some of the deliberating symptoms and as a reaction to being diagnosed with Parkinson's.
It's hard to understand how 650 Million has went into research and no cure. Poor Michael. I feel for him with the suffering he goes through. I hope they cure this debilitating disease asap. God bless you Michael for putting money, time and effort into curing this horrible disease. You are brave and a hero, someone to look up to. Thanks for the back to the future movies Michael, they are awesome, classics, up there with the best movies of all time. Special part of my childhood. Take care and get well soon Michael
jackattack212 I really hope they find a cure. In my knowledge it'd be a lot easier vs finding a cure for cancer because cancer has so many forms and changes and Parkinson's IIRC is pretty much all the same. Dopamine in parts of the brain etc etc
There's actually a surgery that stops all the symptoms the twitching the Tremors instantly and yet I never hear Michael talk about it and I've never heard anyone ask him about it in any interview ... why is that ? It's not really a cure it's a treatment and yet it does ACT as a cure... perhaps he doesn't qualify for it but why doesn't he tell other people about it ? Years ago it was really expensive at $200,000 and it works by inserting a small metal rod in the brain but it gives instant and total relief
@@gardensofthegods actually he had such an operation in 1997. He talked about it "the" interview were he talks about his illness for the first time. And in one of his books he wrote he personally wouldn't do it again.
@@jewel79 thank you for telling me that as i never heard him speak of it and no i had not read his book ... but there are people who've gotten relief from that technique and to me it's strange she never mentioned it but i guess if he would never do it again why would he recommend it for someone else .

spoke to him once on the phone. My son went to one of his speeches in Akron Ohio and asked him if he would talk to me on the phone and he did for about 5 mins. Amazing human being. We could all take some lessons from this guy.
My father just passed away from YEARS of slow, suffering from Parkinson's. His Dad, my paternal grand dad died of it, as well. We are Parkinson's multigenerational. It stinks. Learn about it. Donate, get involved!!
Love you, Michael! I was just diagnosed with Parkinson's and one of the first things I did was join the Michael J Fox Foundation. Thank you so much for bringing attention to this disease. I pray for better, longer lasting treatments!
For someone diagnosed in the 1990s he's doing really well Id say. He's articulate, composed, looks to be in good spirits, and is keeping active.Get em Mike. !
If he wasn't drinking diet pepsi coke 24/7 (which contains aspartmane, the poison for neurons) he would be fine now. People should pay attention on the shit they're filling themselves with
George Vlahopoulos well if they haven’t found a cure with the 650 million dollars so far you can pretty much kiss your cure never gonna happen. Some say he is acting like he is sick just for all this money. I mean he’s got a bunch of stuff going on like moving around a lot, stuttering, and other stuff that just doesn’t add up. I could be wrong but I dought it
Love you Mike , your awesome ! Your a go getter and a constant fighter for the great cause . Has there been any testing done or research of med marijuana to help side affects of this disease?
Back to 1996 when he appearance looked the best in his movie titled "The Frighteners". Until now, he looks good especially his household which he's been running with since 1988
A lot of people are saying he's getting worse when actually from what I've seen, he's getting better. When I see footage of him now compared to like 10 years there are less twitches and his voice is getting better as well as he seems to be getting less stiff. I hope and pray that he keeps on getting better. Love you MJF you are an incredible man.
I really like, and miss him. He always made me laugh. These kind of diseases are so unfair, because they're so difficult, or simply impossible, to cure. Alzheimer is also such an ugly disease. Best of luck to you, Mike! Thanks for your great films!
You are close and not so ignorant as you think. In the field of stem cell research there has been many development s that can help treat or fix Parkinson's. Stem cells are cells that can basically change into any cell in the body and are extracted from an embryo and I believe cultured from the placenta. In the case of Parkinson's is the dysfunction of dopamine producing cells and receptors in the body, which could be fixed by turning stem cells into healthy ones that produce and are receptive to dopamine functionally. If you are interested you can read more about how stem cells can help many diseases here : www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/k12/curriculum/guides/science/bio3201/app_c.pdf
i just finished watching back to the future 1985... searched for the actor... and now m sad to see him.. but seeing the complete interview.. i must say he is brilliant.
Michael J. Fox was so great in the movie "Back to the future". I saw it as a young child and now I am 40 years old. Still one of my favorite movies rest of my life 🌼 🤗
Go Michael J. Fox!! You are really strong against your fight with PD, I love Back To The Future, and I love MJF, he has always been incredibly tough and courageous, I knew he was different when he decided to go on 3 hours a sleep a night to film both Family Ties and Back To The Future. and his fight against Parkinsons? Great Scott, this man is incredibly tough and a really hard worker too, nothing can stop the Fox!
I remember when Michael J. Fox first went public about having Parkinson's, I read someone speculate that heavy cocaine use was a cause; always wondered about that. Cocaine was a very popular rich person's drug in the 80's when Fox got famous.
Watched him play Daniel Post on Boston Legal. Didn't realize he's the same guy from Back to the future. Also, I thought his ticks and mannerisms were a part of his acting. Didn't realize it's his real life condition. Hats off to this guy, God bless him.
I hate these people complaining about there being no cure. I'm sure Psychologists, Biologists, and Neurologists have and will continue to work on it. Parkinson's and Huntington's and Alzheimer's are amongst probably the most researched subjects in brain disease. The reason he donated is because he knows the amount of work that needs to be done. So unless you're donating or innovating treatment, don't complain about the pace of medical advance.
So this is why Michael J. Fox felt a little insane as of late. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s I think are the one of the top worst sickness in human kind because you realize how your sanity and your mind begins to crumble over the years whilst knowing that it’s occurring.
I truly believe CBD and THC together would really help him. Maybe not immediately but if he committed to it everyday, he would reap great results in time..just my 2cents
This is truly sad, BUT "Doctors observed that even among people who had never smoked, those who had been exposed to second-hand smoke had a decreased risk level similar to that of active smokers, and the same type of inverse dose-response relationship was found: The longer participants had lived with an active smoker, the lower their PD risk was." We can't deny truth.
CRISPR must huge thing for all diseases I wonder how it can be used to cure Parkinson's Disease. My uncle had the disease and was able to live quite a while but you learn over the years how it's not just shaking it also affects a person internally too, mainly breathing.
I love Michael J Fox. He is such a legend, such a strong willed and lovely man. Not only has he stared in my favorite movie trilogy of all time, but he raises money for one of the most horrible diseases out there. Stay strong, Michael J Fox! We all love you and are here for you!
