These olde time wooden row boats (and sail boats) are so lovely. Beauty in every detail.
And the bliss to be out rowing connecting with nature. ....oh my.

They are absolutely beautiful boats. They are truly functional works of art, and NO fiberglass, thank god they set that straight!!

I am a rowing guy from Germany, loving our old wooden Rhine rowing boats which we still have some in our Neusser Ruderverein. Looking your video, I was happy to see your wonderful wooden boats, doing your maintenance together, living your community in your boat club - is is nice to see. Perfect! Greetings from someone who also loves wooden boats like you!

As I'm searching for the next boat that I'll build, I want a classic rowboat. The Whitehall keeps coming up in almost any inquiry I do. The Whitewall is the quintessential rowboat with its classic lines and smooth running a perfect marriage of art and science. Thanks so much for this short film. The artfully presentation itself is the absolute narrative of the Whitehall. ❤

Yesterday I bought a 17 ft Whitehall that was handcrafted in 1977. Spent today sanding down the mast, tomorrow the gunwales and finishing. I look forward to having in the water next week.

@@bosse641 It came out well. Rows nicely and runs well with the wind, but not upwind. So I built a leeboard I am going to install and see if I can use it as a sailboat.
