2012 UST Stop #7 - Santa Cruz Skimbash

The 2012 Santa Cruz Skimbash was held 9/15 and 9/16 at 26th Ave in Santa Cruz Ca. Professional skimboarders from across the country made the journey to compete on the glassy waves under typically cloudy skies. In the end Austin Keen picked up his first win of the UST Season launching him well into the top 10. Only one stop remains on the 2012 UST tour and a lot will be up for grabs at the next event.

Austin drops regular, pulls a front-side big spin.(On any regular big spin you will land switch).So, he lands switch and smacks the wave. and and rides back out to the sand, making Joey correct.

the only other better skim comp waves i have ever seen was the vic but like 10 years or so ago in crystal blue water beaker doing shuts it wraps over boards.... for real ever type of wave came in for this contest

by far due to how good the waves were both days all days till it turned to the more normal like waves in any other comp with wind and such for finals but still super rideable for the pros keen at 4:07 and scott steezenet @ 4:00 were both in the finals but i don't think there has been better waves ever besides in like 97 in brown water and the sider was going off beak had his long hair/murder it but maybe geo won.... TIMES AH CHANGED... (where was beak tho)
