This was a huge help. I just purchased a pair of N scale locomotives as "parts or not running" on eBay. When I got them I popped the shells off to find DCC decoders of unknown manufacturer installed. I thought these were DC units given their vintage as they weren't offered even DCC Ready from Life-Like. So I broke out my old Powercab and hooked it up but neither responded to locomotive #3 or the road #'s on the shells so I was at a loss. Stumbled across your video, went through the programming and it detected the decoders, allowed me to program, set addresses, etc. and now I have two fully functional DCC units. Not a bad haul for $37 in retrospect. I had thought that maybe the decoders had been smoked. They just needed a reprogram.
Adam Schubert hi Adam, this is to “hand off” a locomotive or consist to another NCE Powercab. Basically the locomotive you were controlling becomes the other controller’s and your controller gets what they were controlling.
