Don't forget to remove the side plates on the right hand side plate and scrape all the creosote out too.

It's not safe to use tent stoves indoors. But thank God you have a c02 detector. Be safe and stay warm

Not enough draw as the stove gets blocked up. Use good dry hardwood and avoid soft wood. I went camping with mine in Switzerland and all the local timber was dry softwood which left so much residue and creosote in the stove and so I had to clean it every couple of days with a wire brush and a long screwdriver

Clean it regularly mine did that and the spark arrest the holes sometimes clog

Instant indication of a blocked flue pipe/spark arrestor

Yes... this happened to my stove.. solved partially by buying fire rope and sealing the door better... the oven also loses heat due to this issue...
In a tent they work wonderfully but in an enclosed space not so..
But seal the doors... and batten your wood small and pre dry in the oven for way less smoke... also I have to clean it all out every day or it will soot up and the stack pipe will block with soot and creosote... the burner doesn't get anyway near hot enough to keep the flue clear indoors.

These are renowned for clogging up….the small exit slit in firebox must be cleaned and also on top of the oven box where soot will fall down the chimney, pile up and block the flue. And obviously the flue too, especially near the top where it cools down and block the spark arrester.
There are 2 removable plates on the right hand side to get inside to clean it but they are tiny and don’t make it easy.
Great stove with a terrible flaw which they really should redesign for easy cleaning.
    Hope that helps!

Fully agreed. It’s such a bad aspect

I agree totally... great when it works but so high maintenance. Thanx for the tip about the removable metal plates on the side.

What height is your flue? Is there enough pressure there to force the draw? 3m flue?

  • @Anrirua

Is your flue blocked? Been burning wet wood maybe? Or even softwood?
Better off to burn hardwoods only.
The chimney is not drawing, for some reason.

@Western Culture and Tradition the length of the chimney matters too add another length of pipe look for varying results ect.... also it looks like poor design that opening on top of the stove isn't required at all the heat would transfer just fine without it almost every wood fire stove I've ever seen doesn't have that it's redundant..

@@thomascoffey1306even fully cast iron house wood burning ranges have removable sections on top so you can get direct flame to your pot, they aren't the issue. And not redundant at all, they are to speed up boiling times and get seering heat etc.
