Thank you very much. Question: Is there a book in the English language about what you have explained? Please guide me. Because I work in a natural gas plant.
Hello Sir, my name is Dimitris and I am a process engineer. Please, I would like to ask about Claus process regarding coke formation on catalytic conversion stage of H2S to liquid sulphur. On the one hand, in 1st thermal conversion of hydrogen sulphide into liquid sulphur there are also reactions that form carbonyl sulphide COS and disulphide of carbon CS2. After that in the catalytic converter there are 2 beds which enhance on the first bed the claus reaction while the second one enhances hydrolysis of CS2 and COS into carbon dioxide. What are the main causes of coke formation into these catalytic beds; are the feed composition a major problem ( sometimes benzene/toluene/xylene - aromatics present) that did not burn in the 1st thermal stage the root cause!; Also, what is the role of HCN, Ammonia and phenols that might be present in feed in the overall coke formation; thank you in advance. Please provide any information that might identify this serious problem.

I invite you to contact your sulfur unit licensor for those kind of questions.
many thanks
