3:24 a way to memorise these cubic factorising formulae is the SOAP acronym -- taught in the AMath360 textbook. SOAP: Same, Opposite, AlwaysPositive it describes how in a³±b³ = (a±b)(a²∓ab+b²), the factorised form has: the first sign with the SAME sign as the original a³±b³, the second sign with the OPPOSITE sign as the original a³±b³, and the last sign is ALWAYS a PLUS sign
@@sphereishly all the best! no matter which one you choose to :) however if you go poly and take engineering course u will get to learn engineering math as well which is similar to h2 math (but the exams are way easier)
I seriously mean it when I say my discovery of your channel is the best thing to ever happen to me LOL, I just had my AMath and Chem Prelims this week your videos have helped so much! I struggled so hard w AMath (i was a single digit scorer…) but this time I actually understood what the questions were asking for !! Could you do a Biology video too? I’m not sure if it’ll even come out before O levels but I figured I’d at least ask for some tips 😢
WOW im so glad my videos managed to help you! thats great to hear :) for bio, i've never even taken it as a student so i have no idea but u can check out @thatbiotutor
wonjon, thanks for this, after my o levels i maybe want to try making videos like yours and help more students just like you man!!! (If my results are up to par first xD)
Absolute lifesaver and amazing videos, but a few errors that should be pointed out: For 15:58 shouldn't it be v > 0 and not v >= 0 ? because if v =0, there is a turn... And at 20:05 (a) you messed up the answer bit where you said 1875pi - (3pix^3)/25 = 625 (3pi - x^3 / 25) instead of 3pi (625 - x^3 / 25)
AH YES i thought of this alot as well wondering why when looking at this answer key. There is only a turn when the velocity changes sign, so eg, from positive to negative. it is possible that when v=0 it comes to a standstill, and then moves forward again. so as long as it doesnt change sign, it doesnt turn.
I'm pretty sure the question you put as linear law isnt rly linear law focused, it seems to focus a lot more on using log rules and I don't think you even linearise a function at all
i think you are right, looking back at it, it feels more like simultaneous equation rather than linear law. i initially thought that e^x/2 was the big X that you needed to make into linear form
i think its the most difficult out of all the questions in the Quadratic Functions topic leh (i tried to get one from every topic), esp part (c) can be quite challenging since they ask you to explain. then again difficulty is subjective
the cube root is just to illustrate what the a and b values are, because sometimes for something like 8x^3, they will think that its 8x instead of (2x)^3, forgetting to 'cube root' the 8
OHHHHH ive seen this, i was contemplating putting either this or the 2021 12m question as the final boss. both were pretty tough but i chose the latter cause i felt that one was more creative :>
