Your right. Every other demo did not bring out a sound like this. This is the sound I’m sure most 2000-2023 rockers/metal players want to hear and none of the other demos even came close.
Fantastic demo. Hats off. That Jeff Buckley tone was absolutely spot on. Every mode sounded awesome. I really hope Mesa gave you that amp for free coz you're gonna sell a bunch of them file them
great demo and excellent riffs and playing as ever! Seems like a great sounding amp, lots of cool tones on offer. I think I prefer the layout of earlier Mark amps but this seems great for having more channels with simpler controls (and other modern conveniences). IMO all the mark amps deliver, and this is no exception.
I got to play one yesterday with a suhr tele and im just gonna say i was heavily impressed for it being the combo and i had it at lower volumes. Great demo man!
Killer demo, Blake. Seriously, best demo on this amp so far. And, frankly, don't think it'll be beaten. I wasn't even interested until I heard this demo. Now....ugh.
This is a great video. The Mark sound, to my ears, has a really girthy low end with lots of saturation/harmonics, the top end is open and singing, and it is (somehow) simultaneously both scooped and mid heavy! All great things. At the beginning of the video I thought "I have to buy this amp!", but by the end of the video, I realized that every mode and every sound coming from this amp has the same Mark signature applied to it. The high gain modes all are so similar that you can't tell which one is being used, and the low/mid gain tones still have that low-mid Mark "push" that keep it from doing the Marshall thing. Maybe that could be de-emphasized with the GEQ, but there is only ONE GEQ! Great high gain and clean sounds, but the rest of it isn't for me.
Impossible to say without having them side by side (which I don’t). I’d guess that the C+ will sound and feel a little warmer and “worn in”. A little more modern here. It’s really fun to play and the amp overall is incredibly impressive
Hey Blake! I just got a Mark VII head and I was hoping you'd share with me which cab or impulse you used for this demo. If mic'd up, what mic did you use? Kinda struggling with the tones on mine and after heariing your demo it makes me wonder if there's something wrong with the one I bought. i've tried three different cabs - a Mesa oversized 4x12 straight w/slant face, a Marshall 1960A, and my old Boogies 2x12 cabs with the metal grills - can't quite get there with any of my cabs. Also, please let me kknow which guiitar and pickups you used in this demo. Struggling and need your help. Thank you for the very encouraging demo! This is not my first Boogie Mark Series amp. I also owned an original Mark II C+ for over a decade and never encountered issues dialing it in.
awesome as usual blake!!! one of the best demos so far!!! i still prefer my mark IV tho...just got a badlander to pair with it in my stereo set-up...cheers brother!!!
@@blakemansfield2356 absolutely love it!!! each one has totally different sounds/tones that blend really well together...at least to my worn out ears!!! thanx for the content!!!
I JUST bought the Mark V last month after pining over it for years(still with the return time). Does the MVii have anything more over the MV? I heard something about about it having a better feel.
Cool video, Blake. Interesting how the IIb setting on the third channel almost seems like what you'd want for a dirty rhythm channel? It is less "gainy" than the crunch setting on channel 2? I guess you could use channel 2 for leads and the IIb setting for your typical channel 2 dirty rhythm?
Alright man. I’ve asked you about the badlander before and I still have yet to grab it. But now that this exists which one is your pick? You have the best demos love ur stuff.
Dang man, that’s seriously tough. I think both are really impressive. Edge to Mark for versatility and prob the better pick for anything “metal” focused as well. Badlander has such a cool voice though and always sounds great. It’s pretty easy to make a mark amp sound bad 😂
So tight and punchy I saw another video and wasn’t the right demo I thought it sounded kind of sterile, great job. Do You like it more than the badlader? Thanks
Interestingly different way to dial it in. Solves the issues I have had in the other demos which reminded me of my struggles with the Mark V 90w, which was what I would describe as too boxy of mids and the gain tones being too sterile and lacking some natural looseness. The way dialed it, with the mids on the preamp controls being at or near zero seemed to solve for these issues, but the trade off is the tone seemed a bit too mushy and soft for my preferences in the higher gain tones. Way too many ways to dial this in to make any judgments without being able to try it out though. That said, I had fantasies that Mesa would eventually do a Mark V like successor with preset storing with midi recall (because these things are way too versatile to be stuck getting bogged down with having to spend so much time tweaking to dial in the next tone), so I was pretty disappointed to see the midi on the back and then get pretty damaged disappointed to figure out I'll have to wait for the Mark X in another 10 years to maybe see that happen, assuming KKR does not run Gibson and Mesa into the ground and a bankruptcy encore before then.
Hey man, what pick ups were using when you played the Whitesnake riff? Also did you do any post production eq afterwards? Demo sounds so good, fantastic.
@@SuperHotrod4 Check to make sure the previous owner didn't replace one of the 12AX7 preamp tubes with a 12AT7 (a very common mod). It would usually be V4 or V6 or both. If it does, swap 12AX7's back in and you'll have the amp running at full gain again.
is it just me or is the Mark VII just so much better then the Mark V by a long shot please someone tell me? i mean i watch videos and it just seems the sounds and tones sound way better then the MKV. Ive yet to try a MKVII but after watching this i want to try one out so bad.
I’ve had both, and I would say yes. The core tones are basically the same, but the Mark V can sound smaller and over-processed because of all the extra circuits they added. The VII is more raw and bigger sounding.
@@the92project I wonder if he ever uses any of the York Audio stuff. That’s been my go to but through a captor x. Definitely need to try a suhr reactive load they seem to sound a little more natural in most videos I’ve watched. The captor x is still great and really awesome though.
Most IR's already have post processing on them though. I think Blake uses Ownhammer, and I'm pretty sure that those have slight EQ going on within the IR files.
The best demo so far for the 7

Such a good demo...some of my favorite rock/metal songs in there. You dialed it in perfectly for all occasions.
Nice job. This is the first demo where I can hear the "bloom" and "bounce".

So sick, I think this one is the Mark to own.
Sounds great! I bet it even sounds way better in the room.
‘Be Quiet & Drive’ into ‘Orion’ ~ wow man. All fantastic, especially the Tool snippets, but that had me bangin’ 🤘

Oh man this sounds amazing! What was the mic and cab or IR that you used for the signal chain?
By far "The BEST Demo!!"
Great demo and playing! I would’ve bought this amp if the midi was able to switch between the modes and not just channels.
This seems like the ultimate boogie. I don’t think they could top. You can tell that these tones would have the right feel.
Whoa....killer tones
Blake can you please specify which guitar (ideally even pickups) and cabinet/mic was used? Thanks

Yea man the IIB is less gainy than crunch. Really excels at light breakup, raw old school sorta of tones IMO
Have you tried it with el34’s yet?
What cab is it running thru
Fucking great sound! Which speaker ?
Amazing playing, Blake! All of these tones sounds soooo sooooooo good! Which pickup(s) were used for the Mark IV examples? 🙏

They said the mark7 mode was supposed to bridge between a recto and a mark, does it sound good boosted?

Can you actually dial a Mark series in to sound like a Hot Rodded Marshall or should i just order a Hellion and a vii or jp2c
You can get it Marshall-ish sounding until you A/B it with an actual Marshall. Then the answer is no
