BM in 11 was a nightmare and arguably the hardest job back in the beginning. Nothing was worse than lfg back in the day for a Selbina beach pty and the pty lead goes...oh I got someone...a BM. THE PARTY WOULD DISBAND! 😅
XIII-2 is quite different, as you bring most along as another party member and power them up like you would normally. I can understand your point, but I just don't think it quite fits the persona of the class lore.
Love these videos. FYI, FFXI's Beastmaster (2002) came out before FFX-2 (2003), but perhaps you were listing it before simply because X < XI, but you said "the next time we see it" so just wanted to clarify. Thanks for these, they are great! :D
Much more of a fan of X-2 than XI. And that applies even more to Tamer, which was probably my favorite job in X-2, and I would love a similar job in XIV.
Don’t forget Haps, Gau from FF6 was beastmaster-like where he learned how to act like the beast he’s trying to learn only on the plains where you find him. Sadly I could never complete the roster of enemies even to this day...
That's an absolute nightmare to do. I've done it once with a checklist. You can only encounter an enemy on the veldt if you've encountered it elsewhere and won. Adds a ton of extra time in WoB. There are several missable enemies that you don't nor.ally encounter unless you go off the beaten path, and you have a few rare ones on the flying continent. It takes a lot of effort, but it's fairly easy.
Catmancer is a Blu+bst hybrid job of the bravely series, just need some cat food to issue a command... Also I think I saw a caption from an NPC that claimed to be a bst - not once ,but twice. Only that was more of a joke in the game sadly... Like the NPC saying something about understanding chocobos ( like the guy from the bst quest in ffxi) and I think a no mou says that in a screenshot for the future beast tribe; really can't remember who says that but I do remember clapping at the notion when I saw/read that
because square enix refuses to give us actual creative jobs. they already stated, jobs like beastmaster could be ''limited jobs'', so no true job for us.
@@beliasdigimonchannel9139 Most annoying thing right now is that every job is the same.No different builds,no counter ways to play a class, same rotations same crap, only build u can change is materia melds (which hardly can be considered a different build,in the end a Black mage with 2500 spell speed or a black mage with 2500 critical deals the same dmg.
@@DrunkenSailors1 But they're not the same. A RDM doesn't play like a BLM, in turn a BLM doesn't play like a RDM or SMN. They all have their distinct play style that differs from each other. The end result for all the jobs are the same: to win an encounter. If you're saying they should double down on the differences and gimmicks between jobs, then yes, I hope they do. I want them to lean more on their job fantasies. Speaking of rotations. It dawned me that it wouldn't matter if a job has 100s of actions, the players will decide that only a small number of abilities will end up being worth it. In essence, they will craft their own rotation and the remaining spells/abilities will work as either situational or for fun; an illusion of options. Right now SE enforces an approved rotation, but if it weren't for them, the players would. To give them all unique builds would be essentially creating jobs within a job that will be a balancing nightmare. It comes down to the fact that FFXIV jobs function a lot like specs. An individual has access to 15 specs (and more after every expansion) that give the player options on how to play. Whereas other games like WoW, you are tied down to one class that splits into other roles in that class or in other games where your build is a mish mash of different archetypes/roles. A rogue can't suddenly shift to warrior, a mage can't play as a warlock, etc. Similarly with stats. If it's calculated that critical rating results in a significantly higher damage output, all other stats will be eclipsed. At that point, they might as well not even exist as everyone will flock to that stat above all others. Right now they act more like an illusion of choice. I do agree that they need more work. Maybe just add more interesting stats that are flashier. I don't know. Maybe design abilities that act differently with certain stats? Which goes back to the question of balancing.
Gotta admit though that Happy going over the job's history, it makes a prime candidate for the limited job system. A loner that befriends random beasts to fight even scarier beasts? It describes the limited job system to a T, even more than BLU.
Can you do a bestiary on the FF3 job Freelancer? It's different enough to be a great addition to ff14. Basically the reverse of Red Mage. Melee focused with magic support.
Loved beast master in 11
XIII-2 also put a focus on capturing monsters to train and fight as pets. They effectively served as a 3rd party member
I like these kind of videos! I hope you do more of them
Yoooooo I’m stoked u started this back up
Id love this class in xiv. Like a physical summoner
I hope to see an entry on Ultima, the High Seraph.

Wouldn't XIII- 2 also share traits with beastmaster since you capture monsters to fight with you in the party?
Peter Vazquez
I was thinking the same thing. I wonder why he didn’t mention it?

I loved XI BST!

Love your work dude !
In two years-ish I might be playing a Viera Beastmaster in FFXIV. What a time to live.
hmmm maybe, but it will be a limited job, collecting/taming mobs. here is the deal: on release of shadowbringers, we will only be getting GUN and DNC.
Imo. I saw Gau's Rage to be more close to Beastmaster than the manipulate.

The Return.

I will have to resub to 14 if they implement BST.
Might as well do Soldier too.
Happy’s pun game still stronk
This class could be similar to wows hunter in ff xiv find a beast and tame it i see no reson why it couldn't be a real job

Are we just gonna ignore that "sketch" pun really we are just gonna ignore that
Still waiting for Geomancer, my favorite class
i love the FFT version of geomancer though.
I love all iterations it’s a job that very interesting
@@TheGrandRevo u do know geomancer is in final fantasy 11
Holy Knight is all I want
Jason Salter holy knight = paladin
Do you mean mystic knight from FF5? That would be pretty sweet. I know they wouldn't, as it would probably be way too similar to RDM.
Please no more limited jobs >
Ikr? Fan servicing at its finest....

Limited is necessary to not break the current content.
Mr happy you think we will ever get this job summoner wise?
Could you do a Bestiary on Monk?
What happened to White mage?
What about FF tactics?
No FFTA/2 footage FeelsBadMan

Freelancer isn't really a "real" job per se to be included in 14. It's mostly a place holder job until you switch to a more focused job role.
@@halo3boy1 Its still a job. Being a jack of all trades doesnt make it any less.
Wouldn’t the world of final fantasy be a good example of what the beast master does. Lann and Reynn collect monster throughout their journey.
Uhh the description says blue Mage lol and not beast master
I honestly hate the limited job thing and they deffinitely missing out on a great real class if they make it a limited one
Yojimbo's dog's name is not Daigoro!!!! Stop propagating false information!
