Alicia's Key was released over 12 years ago, Imho it would have been fair to use a more recent NI development like Noire.
Never thought i would say this, but actually i think that the NI libs sound better in a busy modern production, while Keyscape sounds stellar and second to none when auditioned on it's own. In a production you don't always need realism and the 'best' sound; you need something that blends well.
Anyone know where Native Instruments are manufactured?
I thought this as well.
Concuerdo contigo me gusta Native instruments 😍
Great vid!
Used NI for years, definitely always on look out for a better piano sound though particularly upright ones
Hey Second, where are Native Instruments / or your one manufactured? Thanks.
Every time I hear about a new keyboard release, I go on a Dux Hunt. So jazzed that Jack has these A/B sample library videos too!
I'd call the Grand Pianos a draw with Keyscape maybe edging it at a pinch. After that Native Instruments. I don't know whether they were the more authentic sound, but they just had a lot more life in them, for me.
using all spectrasonics and u- he synths on m1 macbook with main stage and logic; amazing and unbeatable for my live playing and studio use. Use NI Kontakt for orchestral samples from spitfire and orchestral tools
You should have played instruments from the Nord library as well; it’s huge!
long time watcher and one of the 78% - much love from Seattle WA! Thanks for all of your work!! #nordnation
They're both very close... sounds like either one could sound like the other with a small EQ tweak. I really like the Gentleman tone though, as it stands.
De acuerdo the gentleman 👌
Bro please do a video of the new Roland Fantom 0 series! I haven’t watch anything yet just waiting for you!!!! Love you! ❤️
The maverick and the granduer are way better than Alicia's keys in terms of tech. Newer, bigger, release, resonance all that. And my lord: the cfx grand NOIRE. Y'all went straight to the 2000s to compare to keyscape??
I like “noir” better than maverick and the gentleman. The keyscape cinematic grand sounds good. I also have pianoteq 5
How could you forget Maverick?? I frigging love the Maverick ! Over Noire over Alicia .
And outside NI and NORD - Ravenscroft is truly awesome. To me the GOTO of GO TO PIANOS.
( not tried Keyscape )
Maverick is the best
Noire it´s the Best Sounding Grand Piano from Native!
Please, the full comparison with Noire
this is useful to me because i have NI 12 but not keyscape…. maybe i dont need keyscape as much as i thought…
Amazing comparison the NI holds up very well. I'm with you though I need Keyscape less, but when you have Maverick, Grandeur, The Gentleman, Noire etc. What else do you need?
I have ni ultimate. I liked keyscape but don’t think it’s worth getting unless I didn’t have ni. Plus I use noire and una corda the most.
I like noir a lot. Sometimes I use pianoteq as well
Did Noire come with your Komplete ultimate David?
Something I've never been satisfied with in any piano VST yet, with one exception, is true velocity depth of expression. Even with Keyscape's marvelous grand, it doesn't have that true mellow sound you get at quiet playing volumes of a real piano. Very annoying for my style of music...but they clearly are mostly used for mezzo-to-forte sounds. That exception, btw, is Piano in Blue. Unfortunately, it has a nasty sustain noise buildup bug. So nothing's satisfied me yet. Would love recommendations.
I would guess that the VSL stuff samples the quietest pppp stuff.
@@dynoroad great suggestion. I've avoided buying vsl stuff for its extremely high price, and my assumption that it's old samples geared towards classical music, but I should give it a closer look. I've also been curious how well the sample modelled stuff at pianoteq is working
VI Labs also. The Modern U is a joy to play and you can play it at very soft emotive levels of expression, it is my go to. Inexpensive also and not heavy on hard drive space either.
Would recommend making sure you are using a matching velocity curve to your controller...makes a HUGE difference on soft dynamics. Also, the "Softest" LA Custom C7 piano patch is really emphasizing the lowest ppp pianos. Try it and you'll feel a huge difference. Cheers! :-)
Pianoteq
Thanks! Love these prepizza vids. Any chance you’d cover NI Piano Colors? Great inspiration!
It was pretty close but like the Keyscape better. Plus the full Keyscape has a lot of more samples in each of those categories.
👀
@@DeyquanBowens eeyyyy DB in the house
Una Corda is dope, but doesn't really compare to anything else
wheres the fantom 0!!
Keyscape is on another planet
Love the comparison and your videos as usual but these were seriously odd and dated choices on the Native Instruments side. Some samples libraries compared to Keyscape literally were from different eras almost 10 years apart.
Jack looks well for a man in his late 50s/early 60s
Alicia Keys? Lol Noire is the best grand piano NI has
And how many of the 78% thought they were subscribed? I get your videos regularly on my homepage but just now realized I'm not subscriibed. 😃
If I see a video with Jack Duxbury I thumbs up... don't even have to watch it first.
What's the song at 4:41?
Sounds like senorita by Justin Timberlake
@@alexeyfedorov4434 thank you 🙂
Keyscape had some good sound but ni just way more powerful
Keyscape just kills it, should’ve used Giant as the upright as it’s the most versatile one. Nevertheless, spectrasonics are just a beast at an accessible price point
For some reason I’ve always preferred the gentleman to the other uprights from Native instruments
Yeah this guys was just using all the ok pianos from native instruments, The Giant would’ve been great
Keyscape is a clear winner. Especially with upright and Rhodes
Keyscape all the way!
Hm ... i do own NI thus NI does win always .... 👹
Maybe i will watch the video later on 😇
Keyscape didn't got string resonance native instruments do.
70 odd percent are not subscribed. Which is telling you that the RUclips subscription model doesn't work and not that there is anything wrong with you or the people that don't want to subscribe.
Keyscape swung it. You could have spent a little more time playing and less talking though!!
Don't we Falcon!?........ We do 😂
I love Keyscscape but it doesn't compare to Komplete 14 Collector's Edition. Now, of you restrict it to electric pianos, Keyscape wins. Otherwise, Komplete all day. And Alicia's Keys it's nothing to write home about, Noire is by far the best piano in Komplete... And they conspicuously omitted it.
Keyscape winner. Especially with M1 MacBooks keyscape is very versatile…
Uhhh Thomas Skarbye is the founder of Scarbee from Denmark. English speakers wouldn't be able to pronounce his last name properly, hence, "Scarbee". It's only awful because you Brits drop your Rs, but it's an actual person's name.
Theres a reason why Keyscape is so damn expensive and demoed by GOATS like Robert Glasper & Herbie Hancock. need i say more. Keyscape is a keyboardists VST when it comes to EP & Acoustic Piano.
Yes but when played back to back surprisingly the NI stands next to it in a good way, still Keyscape edges it but only slightly.
Sucks that I own NI12. Keyscape sounded better to me.
Now u gotta do Arturia V collection
Alicia's Keys was never great. It was popular because of it's name, not its sound. (MY OPINION I KNOW!)
I grew up playing classical piano, so that is my bias.
The best NI piano's without a doubt are Grandeur and Noire. Don't believe me? make a blind "taste test" for yourself.
I wish they would have compared to either of those.
Skip the first 4 useless minutes. You're welcome.
Way, way way too much talking and the playing examples were ridiculously short. We want to hear the patches and not your talking please!
