Ah! Thank you, Sharon, so much! We really appreciate your support. My son and I are really looking forward to making our next 10 minutes to landing video. ❤️xx
I'm a West ham fan and I've never seen The London Stadium from a plane (I'm either flying into Heathrow from the US or I fly into Southend or Stansted from Europe!) so THANK YOU for pointing it out ⚒
@@paulsaviationjourneyI used to live down south until I was 11 until 1998, but before we moved, my family did 3 trips to the USA between 1994-1996 - there’s definitely something about Heathrow that stuck out in my head as dazzling and magical, particularly when you land there and you fly over all these spectacular locations. No wonder your son was so captivated 😁😁😁
Magic views. I lived in Chiswick in 1976 and watched Concorde come in to land on that flight path almost every day. Funny how the aerial view differs from the experience of doing London on the Tube trains. Thanks for posting, sounds like the kids were really enjoying the flight. Kiaora from NZ :)
I like how you've pointed out the landmarks during the planes flight over London before landing at Heathrow. I didn't know West Ham's stadium so thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks Paul, That was stunning.I first did that approach into runway 27R back in 1989.I have lost count of the amount of times I have landed that way. That view never ceases to amaze me whether it's during the day or at night.
I love it when this happens. It hasn't happened to me for ages (flying from Belfast), I presume it just must be a particular version of the approach / stack. It happened once and I was giving the woman beside me a tour of London. she didn't know London at all so thankfully was appreciative of my blethering! It would be really amazing to do some sort of comparison fly over of Isle of Dogs and Surrey Quays from now, and 40 years ago. Easy to forgot how huge Hyde Park is 5:30
Yes, it's generally when landing on the 27 runways. Either left or right. In this video, we approached and landed 27R. If approaching from the opposite runways, 09 etc, you would not get that view of London. Thank you for your comment 🙏🏼
I like directly under your flight in north east London. The flights stack from 5 AM over head every day. If I'm not working I sometimes sit in the garden and use flight tracker to see what plane is over head and where it has come from.
I haven't been towards Heathrow flight since 2009. I remember seeing the Gherkin when entering London, i thought to myself how tiny it looks, but even the shard doesn't seem that big from up there. I wish took some sort of footage on my 2MP phone back then
Yes, London looks pretty flat from up there. Phone cameras have come a long way. I'm hoping to use my gopro suctioned to the window on the next one. 😀 Hope you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your comment 🙏🏼 Paul.
I have a real fear of heights, but seeing central London at that height, whatever it was (please tell me the height if you know it) from inside a plane is amazing and it doesn't frighten me. Lovely video. Thanks.
Hi, We would have been around 5000ft and desending at this point. I am the total opposite, I love heights. I also love flying in light aircraft where you feel every lump and bump! Lol. Thank you for your comment. Please consider subscribing to our channel 🙏🏼. Thanks Paul.
Good vid. The Airbus A320 in my opinion are the most fun to fly. You’d be surprised at what they can do if they have too. If you fly in to London City keep a look out for The Den home of Millwall. You might hear it before you see it if the Lions are playing at home. Millllllllllllllllwalllllll. 🦁😁 ✈️👍🏻
I recently flew from Sicily to Manchester we flew over the east of London. I was sitting on the 6 had a great view. The things that stood out were the London stadium Tottenham"s new statuim the Emirates stadium Wembley and the 02 arena. A short time after also saw MK stadium too
Ah, wow, we are looking at flying from Manchester for our next holiday and doing the Concorde tour as well. I'm looking forward to that. Thank you for your comment! 🙏🏻
@paulsaviationjourney many years ago I few to New York on Concorde. It was a brilliant plane. Your kids should enjoy seeing it. Thanks for posting the video. It's really good
@@paulsaviationjourney It's a pity you didn't land on the other runway (27L). You would have had a decent view of Concorde G-BOAB just before you touched down.
Next to London Stadium are Olympic Aquatic Centre and Stratford Station. At 3.50 bottom right is Canary Wharf. Next to Tower Bridge are Tower of London and Sky Garden skyscraper, and just after Buckingham Palace come Hyde Park and The Serpentine
This is a pretty good view of London, But if you're ever fortunate enough to fly into City airport it gives a fantastic view of the heart of the city on a clear day. Because the airport is so close to the city centre, the plane is at a very low altitude as it flies over the major central landmarks. You get pretty much the same view that tourists pay £200 plus to get in the rip off helicopter flights over the city.
The special clever trick is ... look out for your route home. If you see it's jammed solid, do *not* just get in your car and drive home the usual way. Guess how I know this.
@@paulsaviationjourney even like cricket but its amazing how they got all the dirt the use for monster jam events because i dont see any dirt grounds there.
Great spot! I've always known it as the Houses of Parliament. Here's something I found on Google: The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the Parliament of the United Kingdom and is located in London, England. It is commonly called the Houses of Parliament after the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two legislative chambers which occupy the building. Thank you for your comment 🙏🏻
I turned the sound off as I was concentrating in case that I could see my house ....alas this flight did not go over Richmond Park...Great video, thank you I enjoyed looking at familiar landmarks...

Hi Kiaora,
Thank you for your lovely comment.
It is quite different from being on the ground around London, much more peaceful. 😀
All the best,

It is pretty impressive. It must be brought in by trucks. That's the only logical explanation, really.
