    I loved how all these Tom Clancy games were connected. It was cool seeing different perspectives of events that are in all the games. The Ghosts, 3rd Echelon, Rainbow and these HAWX guys all got involved in the Korean War that I first remember hearing about in Chaos Theory. It was so classy, now all these franchises really lost the plot or no longer exist. Military games need to go back to the basics cuz I miss this type of stuff. In the age of Marvel movies I'd love all the Clancy games to cross-over again in a way like these early games did.

      Ubisoft is doing that. It is confirmed that FC, Splinter cell, R Six, and Assassins Creed are all in the same universe. Sam makes a cameo in Ghost Recon. You can find a huge downed aircraft with all of Sam's gear inside in the game FC new Dawn. And in FC 6 you can use Sam's uniform, or a Assassin outfit. I know that's not much, but there are many times Ubisoft has dropped Easter eggs in every one of their games. When you were outside of the Animus program in Assassins Creed Black Flag and Rogue you can see books and magazines that are easter eggs for their other games. There's even a theory going around that during the nuclear attack scene in FC 5 Sam's aircraft was downed. It's not saying that the crew or even Sam died, but it is saying something big happened in their universe and it wasn't Eden's gate that launched those nukes.

      @@philiplapierre9776 I get what you say, but sorry that's all just bunch of bullshit, nobody is interested in few outfits and easter eggs here and there. That's not even 1% of what we want. What you described is simply Ubisoft representing their own games and company as a brand, that's not really the same universe, just the same publisher. And there is no need for a connection between Asassin's Creed and Ghost Recon for example, they don't have to be in the same universe, those franchises are separate.
      The OP was talking about Tom Clancy's games only. We want the old school Ubisoft back, where Tom Clancy games would be fully in the same universe, fully tactical and no gimmicky and goofy stuff. Yes it's cool that we have missions in Wildlands with Caveira, Twitch, Valkyrie, Sam Fisher.. But they still ruined the vibes of Tom Clancy games. For example, Ghost Recon Future Soldier doesn't have a single goofy cosmetic, everything is tactical and fits the military. But in Breakpoint you get punk/rock shirts, pink fluffy shoes, a rainbow hat with a propeller, gun camo with flowers, and party sunglasses. And all that while collecting fruits and shooting down futuristic robots with standard old weapons. In Tom Clancy games we used to have an advantage over the enemies with advanced technology and military tactics, now we are survivalists and craftsmen, eating food with dirty fingers next to a campfire because the government didn't give them utensils.
      Stealth and tactics are gone as well, now it's just run & gun. And the parts where you do get to play stealthy it's just too easy and boring because of dumb enemy AI and simplistic gameplay. When you play the games, Breakpoint and Future Soldier don't feel like they belong to the same universe.

      @@twentytwo138Don’t forget that Breakpoint takes place one year after Future Soldier, yet we’re expected to believe the Ghosts not only wear baseball hats and have movie beards but forgot what optical camo was. Ironically it started with Fallen Ghosts in Wildlands when Kozak fielded it, specifying it was experimental, only for a bunch of cartoon villain mercenaries to show up wearing it in Fallen Ghosts.
      In addition everything you’ve described with the crossovers and Easter eggs indeed feels more like Ubisoft relying on nostalgia and imagery. “Look! It’s Sam Fisher! Nomad knows practically everything about him, especially the fact his daughter's death was faked! Look! he and Bowman know each other! OH LOOK! Now they are referencing Metal Gear, isn’t that so cool?!”

    • @TheOneTrueDragonKing
      @TheOneTrueDragonKing 3 года назад +6

      @@pennywise9081 Almost complete realism. That's the one thing this game has that Ace Combat will never have.
      It's the biggest draw of this game over something like Ace Combat, which mostly takes place in "Strangereal", a world that doesn't even exist. Meanwhile all HAWX games, as well as all other Tom Clancy games, take place in the real world, as an alternate history.
      Ace Combat also contains weapon systems, technology and aircraft that wouldn't be possible in the real world. Examples include the Zone of Endless computer brain, the Alicorn and Dragonet-class submarine aircraft cruisers, the Arsenal Bird flying drone carrier, the Stonehenge railguns (and railguns mounted on aircraft), along with so many others.
      Even when Ace Combat does use a real-world setting, they find an excuse to use the same fantasy weapons you will find in the fantasy-based Strangereal games.
      HAWX is strictly real-world while Ace Combat is pretty strictly fantasy. Even when Ace Combat does do a game in the real-world, it still uses fantasy weapons with no basis in the real world, therefore qualifying it as a fantasy game. Ace Combat is therefore a fantasy flight sim while HAWX is a realistic flight sim, even though they're both arcade games.
      Might as well add fire-breathing medieval dragons to Ace Combat, it'd have just as much realism.
      Ace Combat and HAWX have about as much in common as apples and oranges.
      Ace Combat and HAWX are both arcade flight sims, just like apples and oranges are both fruit. But while one (HAWX) is almost completely real, taking place in an alternate timeline but otherwise being extremely close to the real world; the other (Ace Combat) is almost completely fantasy. They're polar opposites.

    The thing I really adore about HAWX compared to Ace Combat is there’s really no “deeper theme.” As in if you’ve played AC you’ll get plenty of ‘War is Bad’ vibes. Which while has truth, gets real obnoxious after a while.

    The most annoying problem with a lot of these games is that no matter how fast your plane is, the enemy will always be able to keep up with you. Another problem with some of the modern combat flight games such as HAWX and Ace Combat, are these gimmick modes that need to be enabled in order to take full advantage of flight capabilities or to engage in a dog fight. This is what lead me to learning how to play games like DCS. I loved HAWX, but there's a few things they could've changed to make it so much better.

    • @antoniodelaugger9236
      @antoniodelaugger9236 2 года назад

      its entirely possible to beat the game without using those gimmicks even in elite but yeah, the AI planes moving in a far different manner than you do makes it a pain in the ass to lock on them which in turn makes the dogfights a pain the ass (still fun though especially in elite since you have to change targets engagement because of another target randomly aligning infront of you instead all while dodging missiles that can one hit you)

    • @skootmeister3994

      It’s even worse in HAWX 2. It’s been forever since I played it but I remember some targets constantly drop flares.

      Either my memory is faulty but I seem to recall HAWX never had DRM on PC. After Splinter Cell Conviction and Assassin’s Creed 2 got backlash for it, HAWX, Endwar, and HAWX 2 had the DRM removed. Ubisoft eventually went with the Valve method by controlling the digital storefront so that was a short lived experiment.
