  • I know the quirks of these machines after restoring about a dozen examples. Attention needs to be paid to the flywheel in the drivetrain, which can seize up after years of storage. The lift of the ribbon vibrator frequently needs adjustment. Not much else ever seems to go wrong -- this is a sturdy, reliable small electric design.

    I've never seen a blue one before! Did you paint it yourself or were they actually sold in this color?

      This is original and unpainted. The Apollo 10 and Apollo 12 were black-white machines. The GT variants came in at least two color schemes -- the blue you see here and a two-tone brown.
