Beautiful. I'm so glad I travelled on her in 2007 and 2008: the most enjoyable holidays I ever had. I kept mentally pinching myself and saying "You're on the QE2!"
Wow, amazing video. It's of really good quality too, that must of been amazing to be watching her sail by next to you. I feel like I could watch her until she got to New York. Thank you for uploading this!
Magnificant! I could watch this all day. As Captain McNaught has said numerous time, we will never see the likes of her again. I will cherish all of my 22 days spent onboard.
Does'nt she look truly magnificent?? I could watch this all day. I've never seen her at speed at sea. Thank you so much for posting this video-its given me so much pleasure-regards
What a cruise that Tandem with QM2 must have been...it's like, do I want to ride on a legend for the last time, or see her from an unprecedented viewpoint? My god, the tissues and liquor they must have sold that week...
My husband & I were on the QE2 for this voyage - our stateroom was on deck 4 on the portside (shown!). Thank you very much for sharing this video. It was as wonderful as I expected it to be!
A beautiful shot of the magnificent QE2 ruling her element. Her classic lines and massive funnel give her a more powerful image than the QM2. She will be missed on the ocean. Truly an end of an era.
Amazing video of QE2 , she looks just so graceful on the water. Sad that tomorrow is her final departure from Southampton. I was on her when she came to NY for the final time. I'll miss her dearly.
I am an old engineer and aged enough to remember the BLADE FAILURES IN THE H.P. TURBINES OF R.M.S. QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 AND THEIR RECTIFICATION. As an engineer, I could not help but feel a little compassion for the designers of those turbine blades who tried to extract every ounce of power they could get from the steam impinging on them but went a little too far to narrow and shape the turbine blades all the way down to the root of the blade.
We were lucky enough to be on QE2 for this last crossing - it was fantastic and considering no one of the staff knew where they would go after Nov 11th when QE2 sails to Dubai they were great too. I put a few of my videos on RUclips if you want to check them out.
She was doing about 25-26 knots on this 6-day trip. She stopped the 5-day crossings a few years before her retirement to conserve fuel and those were done at 28.5 knots (w/speeds up to 30-31 at times).
Compare the looks of the QE2 with the new NCL Epic goes to show that ships are not good too look at any more. QE2 just looks amazing, like she was built for the sea, where as ships like Norwegain Epic look like floating blocks of flats
aye, a right bonny ship lying at the pier, or steaming as in this video, a bittie swell, and it doesna bother her at all, mind you its a mild day for the Atlantic.

QE2 in her element - superb, simply superb!
Now that's how a proper hull works!
Lovely. Thank you for sharing. I suppose I'll never realize my dream of cruising around the world on the QE2 now. Hoping for the QM2 though!
Wow, just wow!
She looks magnificent! I'll never forget my crossing aboard her in May 2000.
Many thanks-Wonderful !
A real shiplike ship proud to have sailed on her .

Nothing can ever replace her, or come close to matching her. She trully was the last.
