I still remember that debate Afrosenju had about cartoons with Kaggy and the squad and when they were talking about Code Lyoko, Ndukauba started by saying, “CODE LYOKO WAS SOME HEAT!”

I am so happy that someone else besides me remembers the show there’s not a whole lot of people that remember it I kind a wish we could get a proper sequel or maybe get a translated version of those books that came out
I think Code Lyoko could have a good revamp if done right. Maybe disregard anything from Evolution, and maybe have a different generation in the original crew's shoes, there could be a time skip to where maybe the crew's children are sent to the school they attended, and one or a few members of the original crew are teachers and/or work in the area of the school. After turning on the computer, Xana finds a way to link one of the new crew to itself in a similar manner it did with Aelita when that member gets curious and transports themself into a revamped Lyoko. This could set up some good episodes (maybe the new crew doesn't find out about the Return to the Past function at first and then when they do, members of the og squad find out and warn them, this could be a good way to have a multi-parter where they learn more about XANA's history, as well as fan-service to the people who watched the original series.) I have two ideas for a story that could be great for this Code Lyoko: Next Generation (I like the sound of that): 1st idea: In an attempt to figure out a way to defeat the new warriors, XANA creates an AI minion with a humanoid form, far greater than anything either team has faced before. The AI puts up a great fight but ultimately gets defeated by the new warriors, but it escapes before it could be destroyed. XANA begins to believe its attempt at victory as a complete failure until the new AI (which has its own sentience) devises a plan. The next time the crew goes to fight XANA, XANA is of course trying with all its might to stop them, but merely as a ploy to cover the new AI's tracks as it scans the new crew's minds as they enter Lyoko in order to figure out how they think. Later on the new AI disguises itself in the real world as a student named Cody Turing (I feel like that could be a clever name since its _Code_ Lyoko and Turing to reference Alan Turing...maybe Cody just likes making references), learning more and more about the crew (all of this being unknown to them as well as mere hints to the viewers), until a point where Cody begins questioning XANA's motives (the mind scan was on good people so he could naturally become a good guy over time because of his source material). Cody ends up confronting one of the members of the crew (if two of the characters are maybe twin children of Jeremy and Aelita, one boy one girl, the girl could've had a crush on him so he confronts her having the most trust in her) and possibly saves them before they fall into the digital sea, and joining forces with the new warriors to stop its creator, and eventually finds a way to create a legitimate body for himself. 2nd idea: XANA gets so frustrated it comes up with the same plan that Cody did in my other idea but chooses the name Lisa Turing (same Turing reference, if you want to find the Lisa reference look it up because I'm not going to try to explain it). If the twin scenario happens again, she falls for the male twin, but she ends up splitting into two components, her original programming and Lisa Turing when it gets conflicted during a major fight. The unhinged new XANA (split from Lisa) becomes even more powerful as it combines with Project Carthage (the program it was originally made to destroy) forming Carthana, taking away any semblance of respect it had towards the group and leading to itself going into the internet to get its revenge on the original crew and accomplish its goals. ...everything written above is something I have just waiting in a text file. The basis is that the whatever mind scan that happens ends up making whoever did the scan turn good, pulling a bit of a reverse Ultron (since Ultron went evil after scanning Hank's...questionable mental state) and becoming the Vision to the XANA's Ultron.
@@legobrick1356 there is a spirtual succesor to the show. several of the people who worked on it moved to a show called miraculous ladybug. its not exaclt the same and leans more on a magical girl style of transformation rather then a technolocial one, but it has similar vibes and fills that void
This show was by far one of my favorites growing up, there are plenty I watched that I just can't remember but shows like this have stuck with me all these long years
A show for those of us who know that will stand the test of time. I don't often rewatch things but this series is one I often come back to. Most I've met who watched the series during its run or after are steadfast fans to this day I'm glad that there's still love to be expressed for a show that just worked.

After they stopped airing new episodes on Tv I had to watch them on Cartoon Network Video to see what happened next. While ep.1 is not the best episode to start off with the show will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for covering this song, it was a surprise to see.

Its always nice to see this series have new things pop up, it's been my favorite show since it came out.
