By the way, thank you for the compliment on my Aviary name. I was inspired by another RUclipsr with the channel name "Caryotigigas" and his "Pheasantasiam". He also uploads videos of his large aviary and it is very well put together like the one you have.
The German owl pigeons are a special/fancy domesticated breed of rock dove. Your other pigeons are just normal rock doves or feral/homing pigeons. They are the same species (columbia livia) so they shouldn't have any problems mixing. You'd probably notice that their voice their is the same. We had pigeons when I was a kid, relaxing birds to watch.
Hello, your aviary is great and I plan to build one of a similar size as the one you own, and it too will contain various bird species. I love how you have it set up and would like to know if you would be willing to do another update of your aviary, as this video provides new ideas for my future aviary, and it is also very entertaining to watch your birds display unique behaviors! - Darian Woodson
Darian Woodson Thanks! I will probably do another video in the spring once the snow dries up. What kind of birds are you planning on getting? I would like to see a video of your aviary as well once it's finished :)
That's sounds really cool! I'm sorry about the temperatures where you live... I worry about that too here in Ohio, but I was told that if I cover the entire aviary over the winter and provide multiple heat lamps that are placed somewhere away from the birds reach and anything flammable, the birds would be alright. I truly do worry about this, and I may end up having to build a separate enclosure for my birds, most likely with the use of a large tool shed with a few adjustments. I would love to see your new aviary when it is finished being constructed! - Darian Woodson
Darian Woodson I'm sure they would be fine if you cover the aviary and put heat lamps. We were thinking to bring the birds in during the cold months but that still didn't fix the problem with the 1 inch chicken wire. I'm really looking forward to having the indoor aviary! I actually watched some of his videos as well. He has a very nice set up! Take care and I can't wait to see your aviary :)
+Carlyn3676 I'm glad you like my aviary! I actually just put dirt in her bowl. I just softened it up with my fingers and got all the little rocks out. She sure loved it! Thanks for watching!
+Darian Woodson Hi! I haven't added any new birds yet but I plan on it. I want to get a pair of Russian Tumbler pigeons and maybe a pair of Ringneck doves. Sadly my little quail, Tweety, passed away this spring. It broke my heart. I loved her so much! I really want to get some more Quail but nobody raises them near where I live so they're hard to find. I will probably post another video of my aviary again soon. Have you been able to start building your aviary?
I haven't heard of Russian Tumbler pigeons, I will have to look them up. I have heard of Ringneck doves and right now I am in the process of purchasing one as well. I am so sorry for your loss. Tweety looked very adorable and sweet in your videos! She looked so happy being around you! Sorry about that. On the subject of you purchasing some more California Quail, I wish you luck seeing that they are difficult to find. I really would like a pair too. Maybe you could get them shipped to you? I can't wait until you post another update! I have been re watching your other updates because your birds are very interesting! Right now I'm not in the position to actually start building the aviary where I live now but the good news is I'm moving into a House next Saturday and I will have a lot of backyard space to build the actual aviary its self. I already started building the doors of my aviary. Here is a example of what it will be like: There will be two doors. In between these two doors is a small space. So you open the first door and you walk in. This first door will not have a spring on it incase I need to bring furniture and large stuff into my aviary, but the second door will have a spring attached to it so the birds will be trapped inside the small space if they fly through. That way I can just let them back inside instead of them just flying through the door and being released into the world in which they would not be able to survive in. I'm sure you already know this haha sorry for the extra stuff. Aside from that, my actual aviary won't be built until next spring when the snow is gone. And it should probably be done by next summer. I can't wait to get started! It was great getting to talk to you again! I'm sorry for your loss of a great friend!
+Darian Woodson That's great to hear that you will be able to start building your aviary this spring! I really look forward to watching your videos of it. You should make videos on the progress of building. I can't wait to watch your birds interact! Thank you for your condolences about Tweety. I miss her very much! I sure hope I will be able to find some California Quail this spring. I know one person who raises them but he won't ship any live chicks. Maybe I will be able to get some eggs from him to incubate. Hope all goes well with the building of your aviary this spring! Take care!
+Tanessa Bowman I just read my last response to you, and it looks like they cut my story short using an ellipsis (I.e. ...). :( I sent it over Google Plus+ so I am not sure if the format is only like that because the comment section on RUclips may have a limit to the number of letters I can have in a comment? I as well look forward to seeing the birds interact with one another! My plan is to buy the birds ahead of time and have them socialize with one another so that they can coexist all together in the aviary that I build. Right now I have a Pearl Cockatiel and now I am trying to purchase a Ringneck Dove. I would love to make a progression video of the construction of my aviary! I may just record separate videos with the date and post them all in one video. I feel as though that may be a lot easier for me. Your welcome and if you are able to get some California Quail eggs to incubate from him then I hope everything goes well!! Thank you and you take care also!
YA BEYBLADE chickens can't be allowed for one cause they're at risk of going after small animals (aka pigeons and quail) and chickens tend to pass on deadly diseases that can kill quail easily :(
Still doesn't answer why only one duck. Ducks are a social animal and should never be kept alone as in one duck. Quail can make it on their own but multiples are much better for them. Singles of anything are just plain mean.
There are several components to doing a pro job. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Aviary magic method (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the no.1 course i've heard of. Check out this awesome resource.

You have a tree there that's called an elm. They spread very fast. They have teeth.
Very cool: ) Looks peaceful

This is awesome. I just subscribed to your channel.
Very nice :)
Love this!!
That's a nice spot : )
Great Video tanessa.
+Steve Hamilton Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Do u let your homing pigeons out to fly in the wild because they can easily find their way back home
Is the pig enclosed with the birds? if so, will it attack the birds, and does it have a specific purpose in there ?
What do you put in to Tweety's Dust bowel? I love the Aviary. It gives me ideas for my canary and parakeets Summer activity area.

i love german owl pigeons breed, i have two pairs of them
lovely aviary but the.mesh is way too big. you need half inch steel.mesh to.keep out predators.
Do your pigeons use the swings at all?
How is your aviary now? Anything new? Just curious because it's been a long time since we last chatted. :D
