Actually, it usually has opposite effect on crazy stalker types. They think being mentioned in any kind of way is positive bc it shows celebrity is thinking of them. Example..Guy who stalked that female Power-Ranger actress said seeing her testify against him in court was greatest moment of his life, eventhough she was sending him to prison. He said her even talking about him proves she's been thinking of him alot. It's creepy
You can go too far the other way though. I'm very friendly but know how to be assertive/establish boundaries. And that's not "rude." Some people, especially women, have the idea that they can never be friendly and take any friendliness displayed towards them as a pass.
The stalker was waiting for the meet and greet after this interview.... All jokes aside it kills me to see Gabriel talk like this.. I’m too used to the happy guy, I forget he has issues.
Yeesh...he's still letting the dude come around him? Too nice, Gabriel: you need a restraining order for this guy. Being older doesn't give you a right to stalk someone.
It would be hard to get one. What is he going to tell the judge? That the guy constantly goes to meet and greets and his shows and tells him he wants to cook jom dinner? None of what he says is actionable, and it's not like he goes to his house.
I was a RA narc in college and an unfortunate side effect of that is stalkers. When kids go to college they lose the structure their parents created for them as the learn to become self sufficient and learn to structure their own life. College age is also when most mental illness first make their appearance. So this unawareness of illness and sudden lack of structure is a terrible combination for a lot of kids and this results in a lot of stalking and obessessing in college. As a RA i worked with police on half a dozen stalking incidents and they did not help a single one. Police almost have no legal authority until its too late. Gabriel might have a better chance of getting a restraining order by being rich and famous.
5:35 You're suppose to be mean! She took the words right out of my thoughts. People need to know when they are violating your space or making you feel uncomfortable. It's not rude to express that. After they don't respect the boundaries you set, then you get mean and rude.
Fluffy is a great guy to his fans, I met him once years ago, after a show at Cobb's in SF, my wife and I were outside talking to a friend of his and he walked out and hugged us both and we told him what a great show he had put on and he was so genuine. It's sad that he has to deal with a stalker and has to be on guard.
I love this guy's comedy. It's sad this had to happen to him. There are a lot of sick people out there. Bless you, Fluffy! I hope you never have to deal with stalkers ever again.
Love what Christina said. BE RUDE. I understand that as a celebrity with a big heart, he feels an obligation to polite, at the very least cordial, to his fans. But when a fan crosses the line and creates a situation that is uncomfortable or potentially unsafe, that obligation is OVER.
I saw some weird stalker shit at a Ron White show a couple years ago. Some unhinged lady yelled out "I love you. I want you inside me." Ron froze on stage with a look of terror on his face when he heard her voice. He shot a look to security and they escorted her out. The sound of her voice and the look on his face haunts me to this day.
Franz Kafka Felipe Esparza is a comedian who is the “my friend Felipe” guy from Gabriel’s early comedy. Because it has been documented that Felipe does silly shit to make people laugh, i made a joke about this being a Felipe prank.

Too bad Gabriel wasn’t direct with him and just tell him “hey man you are coming off as a stalker and if you keep showing up at my shows I am going to have to get the police to speak to you. I am a celebrity and we have to be careful about people like you, I have no idea if you are obsessed, or crazy, so with all due respect, please leave me alone.”
ISK MUSIC as u already heard him say he didn't show up n he immediately started stalking someone else so him telling him to not buy a ticket WOULD HAVE DONE NOTHING
I'm just glad the guy's never tried to hurt Fluffy (to our knowledge). Conan's stalker sent death threats and broke into the studio while they were filming an episode of Late Night.
Makes me so happy to know Fluffy is comfortable with these guys, otherwise he likely wouldn't have shared. Precedent has been set for Fluffy's return to the show and I'm stoked.
"I never want to be rude, I never want to be mean." I've had 3 different stalkers. One of them tried to kill me more than once. Not being rude and mean is NOT an option when you're dealing with people like that. You have to be mean and rude and protective of yourself. Not being rude with a certain type of mentally ill folks can get you killed. I got a restraining order and a gun permit on the same damn day because of my stalker. I figured if one didnt work the other one would.
I ended up having a stalker because they were stalking my ex while we were dating and he started stalking and harassing and threatening me. Unfortunately for him he was unaware I’m an attorney and the moment he issued a clear threat in a text I had the police on the line and had him arrested. He was charged with assault, criminal harassment, and extortion. People like this need to be dealt with ruthlessly. They don’t understand any normal signaling.
Scary part about being rude is that you have no clue what their reaction is going to be. It could make them back off and cuss you out and then it's done. Or...it could make them ramp it up and suddenly you're in more danger than before. Very much depends on the context and situation and your surroundings.
Can I please stan the "women get hurt because we always have to be polite" type mentality? We get raised to not cause waves. We get told to just agree and be nice. Hell no. To both women and men! Be selfish. Be safe. Don't humor those you feel are unsafe. Fuck that!
I just wanna say that we writers are 'precious' about our writing, bc this is the first century wherein they're actually getting credited/appreciated. For years professional writers were being paid/used/ignored as if they didn't know what they were doing, even though a production can be made or broken by the script alone. It's obvious that Hollywood has been running dry for ages, and Netflix has some good ideas, but the real gold is where creativity has the reigns, not the potential views or ad revenues. That being said, can't wait for more Mr. Iglesias!
That’s scary because if he declines him and is mean to him this guy will probably go to one of his shows and shoot it up. That’s a predicament, get a armed bodyguard.
I've had creepy old men want to be my friend before (i'm in my 20s) and i always got such weird vibes from it, even from the ones who came off like genuinely nice people, something about it just sketches me out. Always go with your gut feeling. It happened to me while i was in the hospital recovering from a surgery and i felt so bad for the guy because he was also sick, just like this, i didn't want to be rude...It left me with a feeling of guilt but also anxiety like something wasn't right. Never saw the guy again after that. Still wonder if he had family or anyone there for him... But also was sketched out by him. These kind of interactions leave a mark on you, you can't forget them, because they're some weird combination of a predator preying on your empathy, and a sad person who is really lonely and needs help.
My son always tells me that when he is on the bus looking at his cellphone he always gets people who talk to him like they know him. He has told me that he doesn't want to be rude but just in case only responds "yes" or "no" until they realize my son doesn't want to talk to them.
Ohhh... Poor fluffy 😢. Look people, protect yourselves.... A true fan is never going to be threatening and intrusive.... I want to see you all happy and healthy and doing your thing 😘💕 Thank you so much for entertaining me. Happy holidays to you and yours.
Every one knows that many proffesional comics are mean, unhappy people. Gabriel is truly one of the nicest, happiest ones. Remember what Billy Joel said '' You can never argue with a crazy man?'' . Nothing sinks in. That was so,so nice of Gabriel to take him out for barbeque. No matter how crazy he should have been more appreciative.
They're absolutely right. I'm a friendly, laid back guy by nature and some take that as invitation to be best friends immediately and latch on to that. Sometimes it's sad bc they just don't know how to make friends and are lonely but just as often it's creeps who are probably working some angle.

@@larrycoleman740 Larry Coleman "
people only understand from their level of perception"
Your level of perception exists on one level of analysis... Your own.
In an idealistic utopian world what you say is correct. we as a species should strive for it, because while we would never be able to fulfill such an ideal. That connection, that ability to trust is what has gotten us where we are today.
But it is ignoring the reality of the matter. War, violence, hierarchical groupings, and discrimination are the fundamental reality of humans.
These exist on every level of analysis. It is the 'human problem'
Society as we know it the ever changing answer.(good or bad)
The depths of human depravity and the atrocity's we have committed are boundless in nature.
Look at history, hell look at a murder t.v show.
Fear and paranoia are a natural response. Fear of the unknown is how our species survived. It is something so intamatly tied to human nature, to ignore it is synonymous with being used and abused by others. Why do you think laws exist.
In this world the only person you can ever truly depend on\ trust is yourself.
I can empathize with your shit experiences and your view,
But for the fact that you insist on making assumptions of others and their ideals when you literally know nothing about them or their thoughts. You can not group others so simply and presume to know how they think and act.
You have done this with abandon.
Youre posts unfounded because you are projecting ideals you presume others hold.
Rather than making a categorical encompassing statement.
you insist that I and others think, feel and act a certain way, when you have no way of actually knowing.
The fervor and obvious anger with which you write only proves my point.
I do not think you even took a second to think through what I wrote previously much less try understand it, as we agree on most points.
You did not take the time to organize your own thoughts much less form them into a cohesive argument.
For these reasons I bid you good day,
And good luck with your unreasoned existential hatred.
Hopefully that lunatic listens to all the podcasts gabriel does, so he can finally catch the hint.
It's creepy
Or catch his next meal.
The guy probably thinks Gabriel is talking about someone else
He won't care
You’re the stalker aren’t you
It’s okay to assert yourself and your boundaries. You deserve to feel safe and respected
Only thing bigger than this guy is his Heart!
Her advice is SPOT ON!!
I don't know her name, but that woman has some solid advice about being rude.
You can go too far the other way though. I'm very friendly but know how to be assertive/establish boundaries. And that's not "rude." Some people, especially women, have the idea that they can never be friendly and take any friendliness displayed towards them as a pass.
Her name is Christina Pazsitzky.
@@kck9742 I don't disagree but 1 way can make people not like you, the other can get you killed. Err in the way of not getting killed.

The stalker was waiting for the meet and greet after this interview....
All jokes aside it kills me to see Gabriel talk like this.. I’m too used to the happy guy, I forget he has issues.
Gabriel after he makes you dinner let me bake you a cake.
I only liked this because it would’ve made it 69 likes
Sonya Willis, 👍Well said!

Love what Christina said. BE RUDE. I understand that as a celebrity with a big heart, he feels an obligation to polite, at the very least cordial, to his fans. But when a fan crosses the line and creates a situation that is uncomfortable or potentially unsafe, that obligation is OVER.
I was incredibly uncomfortable while watching this, god I can’t imagine how it must’ve been for Gabriel

Sincerely yours, your biggest fan. This is Stan.
Gabriel Iglesias is such a genuinely nice guy, met him once and he was just genuinely nice and down to earth.
This gave me literal chills 😢
That was his wife.......
And the man’s name was Felipe Esparza.
😆😆😆😆😆
Franz Kafka Felipe Esparza is a comedian who is the “my friend Felipe” guy from Gabriel’s early comedy. Because it has been documented that Felipe does silly shit to make people laugh, i made a joke about this being a Felipe prank.
"Hey man, can you get better? It's getting uncomfortable."

I've had 3 different stalkers. One of them tried to kill me more than once. Not being rude and mean is NOT an option when you're dealing with people like that. You have to be mean and rude and protective of yourself. Not being rude with a certain type of mentally ill folks can get you killed. The best part of the story is the Dice reaction to the guy. Completely believable
"No dude f... Drop dead" laughed at that and he wasn't even joking around.
Heavy role playing
Scary part about being rude is that you have no clue what their reaction is going to be. It could make them back off and cuss you out and then it's done. Or...it could make them ramp it up and suddenly you're in more danger than before. Very much depends on the context and situation and your surroundings.
So all I have to do to have dinner with Gabriel is show up to some of his shows? Im in!
« You’re familiar with a little fellow named Chapo?? » 😂😂

Iglesias!
