  • In this Tinderbox Meetup, Mark Bernstein and Mark Anderson recap their trip to Poland for the 2024 ACM Hypertext conference (next year will be in Chicago). Becker reviewed a talk he delivered for [The Startup Marketer](community.thes... 5Cs of Knowledge Management. Becker then provided a broad view of how to use Tinderbox to execute the following: 1) the problems with working in output software, 2) notes as DNA analogy, 3) his content, structure, and appearance separation model (CSA Model), 4) his note organization strategy, 5) a strategy for automatical naming notes that he developed to help with collaboration across Tinderbox files (both with himself and other people), 6) the use of macros to insert content assets into notes, 7) automatically creating a glossary and linking gallery term alias notes discovered with an agent to the notes where the terms appear in a book chapter, 8) using ChatGPT to create a quiz bank for a textbook chapter and how to parse the ChatGPT in Tinderbox to create well formatted quick questions, and finally, 9) modifying the TBX XML to make a user attribute non-inheritable (use case: manipulate alias independent of the original note). We also discussed @PeterWasilko’s question about indexing files on a hard drive (see the chat).

Hi Michael. I've stumbled across your RUclips channel and wondered if I could canvass your view on Tinderbox and its application to specific professions. I'm a UK based lawyer and feel that TB has a great deal of potential for trial advcocacy and case preparation. It seems to be a steep learning curve however and the price tag (about £220) makes me cautious about investing in it given the amount of time I think it would take to actually learn to use it effectively, Do you have any experience of other laywers utilising TB? I'd be grateful for any insight you (or others) could provide. Kindest regards. DS

Hi Darren, the license of Tinderbox is relative to the protectivity and the efficiency you get from it. As standard professional rates go, it is 1 to 2 hours of billing to cover the costs for the software, which you can write off for an untold level of learning, insight, and efficiency. This is also the case with my bespoke training-you can take months/years stumbling around to try to re-wire your brain and learn the fundamentals of this new way of thinking, or you can take my six-week program, and you'll be up to speed quickly, along with the foundational templates that I've built. There i really is not substitute for Tinderbox and its satellite apps. I'm looking forward to connecting with you
