- Is there such a thing as a first-class seven-seater without the hefty mile-high price tag? The Hyundai Custin features a package that could be your ticket to the big-league captains' chairs-equipped vans without breaking the bank. It is a step above other cars in its price point, and one can say that it's comparable even to the premium vans out there. Is it worth its asking price? Find out on this episode of Behind the Wheel.

We had a 1st gen toyota innova and we were thinking of getting the new innova zenix when this custin came along and we decided to get this. Our old innova seats 7 adults without any issues. It only has 134 hp while the custin has 168 hp so don't worry about the power on this car. We have been enjoying this car since we got it last january. If your comfort is what's important to you, then definitely go for the custin
This one is a head turner when i saw it on the showroom. And seeing Caco in a suit at the beginning is exactly what this car means. 😂
Taking the Custin for a holy week trip with the family is a great idea to also test how it drives or pulls when on full load. All seats occupied with baggages. Hope we get a feedback 😁 hyundai beke nemen 😂
I have a 2 month old Custin and it is very very worth the buy. Comfort and security combined.
Just bought the GLS Premium the other day. I’am simply amazed with what luxury/comfort/refinement/nvh/tech/space/etc. Hyundai has to offer for php 2m. You wont be disappointed.
For people asking about fuel consumption. Our car was purchased for the purpose to be used as a (“Hatid Sundo daily sa school, Mon-fri”) I checked our log which was about 55kms (Mon to Fri) on blaze 100 and on smart mode on pure city driving. We get 7.5km/l
@@GSGPH1what day ang coding mo?
From owning a Premium Polar White variant, it's a very nice car. Excellent NVH performance and premium spacious interior. The captain's chair in the 2nd row is a dream, coupled with the dual sunroof.
One of your best intros yet 😂
from a new custin gls (base variant) owner here, i must admit that i took a gamble here (due to its unproven record) and I still do believe so. the reason for buying it is because we're expecting a 2nd baby soon. we were left with no choice in the market since our requirement is 2 captain seats for the 2 childseats with a middle tunnel for access to the 3rd row that has sliding doors and has acceptable safety equipment that is not run by diesel or an alphard! our family passed the chance when we went for the popular choice back then which were 3-row suvs to buy the previa and the honda odyssey and im not making the same mistake this time that's why we went for the custin!
How's the overall ownership experience so far sir?
@@paolosy1293as to its plush and quiet ride, it reminds me of our old cefiro (2001 model). It takes corners well like our civic fb. I had both sat on the 2017 odyssey and 2011 previa, yes it closely resembles the ride of those.
How's the FC?
@@Exgol2005 in city around 5 kpl. I dont anymore measure it because i always switch the screen to the tire pressure monitoring which i find more important.
@@michael677 salamat!
Bought a Custin premium mainly for my senior parents. Comfort is a priority and the Custin definitely provides it about 95% of the time! My main complaint is that the 1.5L Turbo engine has a hard time on inclines. Our unit gets driven on a hilly subdivision and a multilevel carpark. From experience, once the RPMs drop while climbing, the turbo suddenly kicks in and it jerks the car almost violently. I wish that there's a way to maintain a low gear either through an L option on the transmission buttons or paddle shifters.
same reason here, their comfort is our paramount concern. 🥰
Nice intro. Superb!
It's actually related to the 4th-gen Kia Carnival, being based on the same Hyundai-Kia N3 platform, albeit smaller and having fewer engine choices.
So that's why I immediately notice the similarities 😮
Top of my wishlist right now👍
So the Palisade isnt being sold anymore? Because this offers alot of the same bits as a Palisade minus one seat.
My most awaited review this year! So I actually thought Caco will do the episode ala "motivational speaker" 😅
hey I seen a tub tub behind you, how does that drive?
I love how random the “water bottles” gets thrown in there. 🤣
Pls do a comparo for custin and gac m6 pro
hope we get a comparo with this against the Carnival and Innova.
This deserves a comparo with the Zenix! Let's do it AutoDeal! 🎉
Parang nasa Minivan catgory yang Custin
Wala bang hindi white seats?
We were looking at the Custin today and I'm totally impressed. But the only thing I don't like is getting to the third row seat.
Another great review by Caco. Kudos!!! [I came 4 months late with this review] 😊
Side note: Hope Hyundai will have the 1.8 diesel or hybrid variant.
hows this compared to kia sorento?
because of you guys we bought custin
True sinasabi mo Sir Caco napa search nga ako kasi katabi ko sa Parking Hyundai Custin White... grabe lakas maka IU, BTS... akala ko maliit lang siya hindi pala malaki siya at malapad... dbest car
Im one of the few first owners of the premium the only negative i have for this, is that its a bit thirsty with regards to fuel consumption. But aside from that its an impressive satisfying minivan, im very much satisfied with it, The ride is really smooth, The seating is extremely comfortable even on the 3rd row. I love it.
My eco mode po ba ito?

6km/l city is pretty thirsty. But if you're after the comfort, then this is a good candidate
hello question po if approved po ako sa car hyundai tucson how long will the process take if ililipat ung approval sa ibang model? lipat sana namin sa gac
hello po, naka pagpatrasfer po kayo ng approval?
Just bought a Custin, it was a superb car. Value for money. Lakas makayaman. To be honest sa ibang bansa lang ako nakakasakay sa automatic door..now meron na dito. Its a very very good buy!
Sir, just an inquiry.. Do you have experience(s) about “Service After Sales of Hyundai? i mean after you buy Hyundai vehicle and the vehicle has problems, are you satisfied with their Services? Thank you sir

Sir, you did not comment on the third seat.
this is a very good family MPV van
Custin or Carnival? Which is one is better?
Comparo with Zenix?!
Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe ever gonna come to the Philippines? 🥺
Yes
my first car coming soon this july :) konting ipon pa

Nice.
A comparo between Zenix and Custin ✨
Ganda takot ko lng ung fuel consumption
Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro vs Custin vs Zenix vs GS8
i like this car custin, because its the car used in the movie THE FAMILY PLAN
Nice car...
comparo with Zenix pls. Thanks sir Caco
Heard somewhere that it’ll soon be available in a different interior color? Hopefully it’s black or brown.
Exactly, if you will talk premium, black and dark brown should still be the first choice. Theres a pilit vibe in the white interior
@@Path_to_becoming_HIM i test drove one and the test unit they have already showed stains on the seats and steering wheel. Told them about it and they told me “depende sir sa gagamit”. 😂
hopefully it will come to Australia
The most talkative fellow, spoils the entire presentation
You can easily skip to the next video. Some of us like how talkative and informative he is.
I think it’s like a mini van here in Canada.
Is that a CBU car??
With 1.7m i would prefer the everest trend if you want comfort with less captain seat.
Wishing for the tucson’s 2.0L in this… it would be a sell out in its class imo
zenix and custin comparo please 🙏
Is hyundai a Safe car to buy? Including this custin? A lot of issues flocking the korean brands in the US,Canada,Australia with heavy class action lawsuit. Hyundais response in the issue was not that good.
Same question here! I see a lot of complaints in the western countries. Wanna know if this korean made cars are worth it. Currently looking for a mom car here in Ph!
How does it do going downhill? No paddle shifters or +/- shift, so no engine braking.
taiwanese motoring media suggests to use the sport mode. higher revs will simulate engine braking to some extent. the custin was extensively tested in taiwan, which has lots of hills similar to what u will find here.
@@michael677 Ok, I will consider that. Still not as reassuring as actual manual gear choice. I also noticed that the Vietnamese Custin has paddle shifters.
I'd just like to say that's not exactly right. In any car and with any transmission (except for electric cars because it works differently), engine braking does occur as soon as you release the accelerator. It's just that as you pointed out, you don't have some degree of manual control to select a lower gear where there is a greater engine braking effect.
However, you can sort of trigger it by using sport mode as was mentioned, but you can simply step on the brakes, and I think you can safely assume the engine and transmission were tuned in such a way that the transmission will downshift by itself when the engine falls below a certain rpm or the car falls below a certain speed.
Checking the premium variant's spec sheet, it also has Manual Speed Limit Assist and Cruise Control, both of which you can use to set a speed and the car will figure out on its own how to slow down if it detects that you will exceed the speed that you've set.
@@kevintee7445 Almost no engine braking when the transmission is at higher gears because you stepped off of the accelerator is the same as no engine braking when going down a mountain. But, I will take note of the sport mode hack.
This and the Zenix look like good buys...if you are not the driver haha. Or want to spoil your parents/relatives/family via the second row.
Can that last long the Bicol trip....😮😮😮
lol the captain seats for custin is much better than the carnival and staria.
this or the zenix?
I like Hyundai. But i love your shoes more caco/kako. 😅
Honestly I'd go for it if the front didn't look kinda dated compared to the Staria and the Stargazer's front.
Value Value Value! Cheaper than a CRV!
CR-V hybrid is way better.
The Kia Carnival Twin. The more practical version.
if they put the engine of zenix it will probably best MPV in Philippines.
Hahahahahah probably the funniest episode of this channel ever.
Time for a COMPARO between:
Hyundai Custin
Toyota Alphard
Honda Odyssey
Honda Odyssey is no longer being sold
The big problem is the gasoline is like v8 engine laklak ng laklak😊
you look pogi boss hehe

How can I control the captain seats from the infotainment

Is it 170hp only?

Hi, is hyundai custin made in china?
Test drive na yan, 7pax uphill!!

Is interior only one color? Quite the dirt magnet
Now I got a new car that I want instead of the Carnival
Toyota messaged autodeal to review the zenix again after seeing this video. 😂

Why don't they bring this in India!

Just the same price as the top of the line Jimny 😅
Muka syang toyota alphard
This just kill Kia Carnival the price diff is too big😮
looks like stretched stargazer.....7 people with bags might be challenge to it's engine..minivans wide doors is as heavy lots of motor. at least engine is 2.4...with that said this car might be a little pricey...dinala lang sa upuan :(
Not really. 253 torque more than enough to go to Sagada or Atok. This is not a Veloz or Stargazer at all.
5 to 9km per liter? With the high price tag, heavy body, and 1.5 engine (turbo or not)? Expensive upkeep and repairs? No thanks.unless you have money to put in the trash.
It's made in VN, too
High price tag? There isn't any other 7 seater van that comes close to 2m with the same features at that price. 1.5 turbo engine is more than enough with the torque being 253nm. 5-9km/liter is city, highway is 10-12km/liter. Expensive upkeep and repairs? Just by that statement shows your bias.
@@RynceMelger FYI, there are other below 2M 7 seater "vans", and i like Hyundai. But im being objective. But thats your opinion. I have my experience. You have yours. You do you. I do me. And you can go kiss someone else's a-- somewhere, because i wont. 🥱

GAC GN6 offers a lot more value for money. Plus GN6 drives great
I like everything about it except the horrible fuel economy.
You forgot to mention ground clearance
It was actually mentioned and flashed on the screen..😂
It was mentioned and compared to the tucson
This car is more of chauffeur driven vehicle
Not fuel efficient.

Hyundai customer service is so bad that you can't sleep at night. They just ignore you. Also, they don't have their own shops for major repairs, brought my car at Hyundai Makati and Manila, they sent it to Nissan for repair, shows you how this company is so cheap. Just gonna buy Toyota or Honda from now on. Korean quality is on a decline (including Samsung phones).
True
I don't trust hyundai. Buy at your own risk.
